Abstract

One way to improve health is to maintain oral hygiene. The mouth has more functions than just being a way for food to enter, and not many people are aware of the need to maintain oral hygiene. The problem of this research is the high debris index rate for students in grades IV and V at SD Praja Mukti Surabaya, namely 1.96, which is in the bad category. The aim of this research is to determine students' knowledge about maintaining oral hygiene using the mystery box snake ladder game. This type of research is descriptive research. The target of this research was students in grades IV and V of SD Praja Mukti Surabaya, totaling 47 students. The data collection method uses a questionnaire sheet. Results of research on the knowledge of students in grades IV and V of SD Praja Mukti Surabaya regarding maintaining oral hygiene using the mystery box snake ladder game counseling media in the good category.

Abstract

Oral and dental health problems commonly experienced by children are dental caries. A large number of children express complaints about dental caries, a condition that, if severe, can have a detrimental effect on their overall well-being. The child will experience pain, discomfort, and may have difficulty eating and sleeping. Dental caries at school age results from a lack of knowledge about correct oral hygiene practices, including inadequate teeth cleaning techniques and schedules. The problem with this resat is that only 69.4% of class VI students at SDN Milangasri 1 Magetan in 2024 will experience caries, but UKGS activities have been carried out 100%. The aim of this research is to find out the correct tooth brushing technique for class VI students at SDN Milangasri 1 Magetan. This research method is descriptive. This research focused on a group of 49 grade VI students at SDN Milangasri 1 Magetan. Data collection was carried out through an observation process, using observation sheets as the main tool. The observation sheet was used as a data collection tool. The data analysis technique used is to present the results obtained from the observation sheet in table format. Research has found that brushing the labial, buccal, palatine and lingual teeth are all in the unfavorable category. However, brushing teeth in the occlusal area is included in the good category. Conclusion: The method for brushing the teeth of class VI children at SDN Milangasri 1 Magetan is considered adequate.

Abstract

Dental caries is a major health problem that attacks the younger generation. Tissue damage that starts from the surface of the tooth, continues to the enamel and dentin, until finally reaching the pulp is a characteristic of dental caries. Problem statement: It is still not possible to achieve a caries-free rate of 50%. upper class at SD Wachid Hasjim 2 Surabaya. Academic caries affects 82% of students. The purpose of the survey was to find out how much students at Wachid Hasjim 2 Elementary School Surabaya understand about dental caries. Technique: Pretest and Posttest research designs are used in this type of quasi-experimental research. The population in this study was upper class students at SD Wachid Hasjim 2 Surabaya (93 students). The analysis techniques used are ANOVA and Post Hoc Multiple Comparisons. Results: There is a difference in knowledge before and after counseling using Make A Match media to upper class students at SD Wachid Hasjim 2 Surabaya. Pretest: class 4 mean±SD.Deviation (56.71±10.747), class 5 mean±SD.Deviation (48.80±10.029), class 6 mean ±SD.Deviation (58.05±7.198) and Posttest: class 4 mean ± SD.Deviation (82.34±6.718), class 5 mean ± SD.Deviation (77.80±5.605), class 6 mean ± SD.Deviation (80.69±7.382). With a pretest significance value of 0.002 and posttest 0.013 (ρ <0.050). There is a real difference. Conclusion: There is an increase in knowledge about caries after counseling using Make A Match media to upper class students at SD Wachid Hasjim 2 Surabaya.

Abstract

Kebersihan gigi dan mulut adalah keadaan yang rongga mulut seseorang yang bebas dari kotoran, seperti plak dan karang gigi. Karang gigi merupakan kumpulan plak yang mengalami kalsifikasi dan melekat erat pada permukaan gigi serta objek solid lainnya di dalam mulut, sehingga gigi menjadi kasar dan terasa tebal. Karang gigi yang terus dibiarkan di dalam mulut dapat menyebabkan iritasi, radang pada gusi dan kerusakan pada jaringan penyangga gigi, serta dapat mengakibatkan gigi menjadi goyang dan lepas dengan sendirinya Masalah Penelitian tingginya kalkulus indeks pada siswa kelas VII dan VIII SMP Diponegoro. Tujuan Penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan gambaran pengetahuan tentang karang gigi setelah penggunaan media game edukasi platformer pada siswa kelas VII dan VIII SMP Diponegoro Kota Surabaya. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Sasaran Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII dan VIII SMP Diponegoro Surabaya sebanyak 45 responden. Metode Pengumpulan Data penelitian ini menggunakan lembar kuesioner. Hasil Penelitian ini pengetahuan siswa tentang karang gigi sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media game edukasi platformer pada siswa kelas VII dan VIII SMP Diponegoro Surabaya dalam kategori kurang menjadi baik, setelah dilakukan penyuluhan.

Abstract

Gingivitis is when the gums become red, swollen, and bleeding. During pregnancy, the hormones esterogen and progesterone increase 10 times higher, so that acid production in the mouth will increase and worsen the condition of the oral cavity. Maintenance of oral health is useful for maintaining the condition of the fetus so that it continues to grow and develop healthily, maintaining good masticatory function so that nutritional needs are met and preventing further oral and dental disease. Problem Statement in this study is the high percentage of pregnant women who experience gingivitis with a percentage of 70% at the Klecorejo Health Center, Madiun Regency in 2023. The purpose of the study was to determine the knowledge of oral health maintenance in pregnant women after using Motion Video Education (MVE) at Puskesmas Klecorejo Madiun Regency. Research method used was descriptive. The research targets were pregnant women who visited the health center, totaling 30 people. Data collection using a questionnaire with data acquisition analysis techniques will be presented in tabular form which is then percentageed and categorized. The results showed that the knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance of pregnant women after using Motion Video Education (MVE) was in the good category.
