Abstract

Introduction: Dental caries is one of the dental and oral health problems that is often experienced by Indonesian people. The 2018 Riskesdas stated that 78% of the group of children aged 3-5 years experienced problems with oral and dental health, the most common being dental caries, meaning that only 22% of the group of children aged 3-5 years were free from dental caries. Problem: The problem in this study is the high average value of def-t in class A children at Dharma Wanita Kindergarten Panjunan Sidoarjo.The Purpose: The aim of the study was to describe the mother's knowledge about dental caries in class A children at Dharma Wanita Kindergarten Panjunan Sidoarjo. Methods: This research is a descriptive study involving 41 respondents. This research data was collected using a questionnaire sheet. The data analysis technique is by calculating the average answer which is calculated on the average (mean) and presented and then presented in tabular form. Results: Based on the research results, it was found that the mother's knowledge about the causes of dental caries was in the sufficient category, the mother's knowledge about the consequences of dental caries was in the sufficient category, the mother's knowledge about how to prevent dental caries was in less category, and the mother's knowledge about treating dental caries was in less category. Conclusion: Mother's knowledge about dental caries in class A children at Dharma Wanita Panjunan Sidoarjo Kindergarten was obtained in the sufficient category.

Abstract

Background: Dental caries is a disease that damages tooth tissues: enamel, dentin, and pulp structures. Children often suffer from tooth decay, which can interfere with their daily lives. Research topic: Average height of Gotong Royong kindergarten in Surabaya in 2022. Survey method: Application of descriptive research. The subjects of this study were a total of 49 parents of PAUD children attending Surabaya Gotong Royong Kindergarten. The data collection method is the answer to the questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is to provide the proportion of responses for each category of data and display it in tabular form. Research result: Parental knowledge of the definition of caries in preschool children fell into the 'good' category (72%), while parental knowledge of the causes of caries in preschool children fell into the 'good' category (81%). It is known that , parental knowledge of the causes of tooth decay in preschool children falls into the 'good' category (81%). Knowledge of the effects of caries in preschool children falls into the category of 'good' (77%), and parental knowledge of caries prevention in preschool children is adequate. Parents' knowledge of caries care in preschool children is in the 'good' (70%) and 'good' (87%) categories. Conclusion: Based on this study, it can be concluded that the parents' knowledge of tooth decay in the preschoolers of Gotong Royong Surabaya Kindergarten is in the good category.

Abstract

Introduction : Elderly (elderly) is someone aged 60 years and over who has a different appearance compared to other age groups. Older people often neglect oral hygiene and often complain of toothaches such as loose teeth, tooth decay, swollen gums and receding gums. Loss of all or part of the teeth has the same impact on the inability to survive. Dentures are basically designed to improve the function of chewing, speaking, esthetics, maintaining tissue health and preventing further structural damage to organs in the oral cavity. Problem : the problem in this study is the use of dentures at the Hargo Dedali nursing home is included in the less category. The Purpose : The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge of the elderly about the use of dentures at the Hargo Dedali Nursing Home in Surabaya. Metods : This research is descriptive in nature and was carried out in March 2023 with 25 elderly respondents using a questionnaire. data analysis technique by calculating the results of the data that has been collected and presented in tabular form. Result : Based on the results of the study, it was found that the knowledge of the elderly about the definition of dentures was in the sufficient category, the knowledge of the elderly about the function of using dentures was in the sufficient category, the knowledge of the elderly about how to care for dentures was in the less category, the knowledge of the elderly about the consequences of not using dentures was in the less category. Conclusion : The knowledge of the elderly regarding the use of dentures at the Hargo Dedali nursing home in Surabaya was found to be lacking.

Abstract

Introduction: Dental and oral health problems in children are an important concern in the development of children's health status, especially in school-age children. Problem: a problem in this study is the high percentage of class III students at SDN Kertajaya 1 Surabaya in the medium category. The purpose: This study is to know the knowledge about maintaining oral hygiene in teachers at SDN Kertajaya 1 Surabaya. Methods: This research is a descriptive study with the number of research targets as many as 25 teachers at SDN Kertajaya 1 Surabaya. Collecting research data using a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in this study was to present and then presented in tabular form. Results: Based on the results of the study it was found that knowledge about how to brush teeth properly and correctly for teachers was in the less category, Knowledge about the frequency of brushing teeth for teachers was in the sufficient category, Knowledge about when to brush teeth for teachers was in the lacking category, and knowledge about food that could helpful and detrimental to dental and oral health in the good category. Conclusion: From this study it can be concluded that knowledge about maintaining oral hygiene for teachers at SDN Kertajaya 1 Surabaya obtained sufficient category results.

Abstract

Background: Cariogenic foods are foods that contain lots of sugar, are sweet, sticky and easily disintegrate in the oral cavity. This sweet and sticky food is generally very popular with school-age children because of its delicious taste, attractive shape and low price. Objective: This study aims to describe the knowledge of class IV students about cariogenic food at SDN Kertajaya 1 Surabaya in 2023. Method: this type of research is descriptive research. The target in this study was 39 grade IV students for the 2022/2023 academic year. The data collection method was obtained by using a questionnaire sheet. The data analysis technique used is to count the number of correct answers and then calculate the average and present it in tabular form. Results: The knowledge of fourth grade students at SDN Kertajaya 1 Surabaya about the meaning of cariogenic food is in the good category. Students' knowledge of the types or types of cariogenic food has moderate criteria. Student's knowledge of students' knowledge about the time of cariogenic food has less impact or effect of cariogenic food has good criteria. Conclusion: fourth grade students' knowledge of cariogenic food at SDN Kertajaya 1 Surabaya in 2023 is in the moderate category

Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Pengetahuan kesehatan dapat ditingkatkan dengan penyuluhan kesehatan menggunakan media. Tingkat pengetahuan siswa SMP Baiturrahman Surabaya Tahun 2024 mengenai penambalan gigi kurang sebesar 40%, cukup sebesar 30%, dan baik sebesar 30%. Sehingga masalah penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pengetahuan siswa mengenai penambalan gigi di SMP Baiturrahman Surabaya Tahun 2024. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan video edutainment terhadap pengetahuan penambalan gigi pada siswa SMP Baiturrahman Surabaya tahun 2024. Metode : Menggunakan penelitian True Eksperiment. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah 42 siswa dengan sampel penelitian ini adalah 38 siswa menggunakan simple random sample. Lembar kuesioner sebagai sarana untuk mengumpulkan data. Penyuluhan menggunakan video edutainment dengan menggunakan jenis Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design analisis data yang digunakan dengan uji T, menghitung rata-rata, dan menampilkan hasilnya dalam bentuk tabel. Hasil : (1) pada kelompok kontrol nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 48.9 sedangkan nilai rata-rata post-test sebesar 47.8 masih lebih rendah dibandingkan kelompok intervensi, (2) pada kelompok intervensi nilai rata-rata pre-test sebesar 59,5 sedangkan nilai rata-rata post-test sebesar 77.8 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol, (3) rata-rata nilai post-test kelompok intervensi > kelompok kontrol yaitu 77.8 > 47.8 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh peningkatan pengetahuan penambalan gigi pada kelompok intervensi lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol, pada uji T hasil yang didapat yaitu sig.2 tailed sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 terdapat pengaruh setelah penyuluhan. Kesimpulan : Penyuluhan dengan video dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa.

Abstract

Dental and oral health problems are an important concern health development, one of which is caused by vulnerable groups school age children from dental health problems. School age is an age important in the growth and physical development of children. This period is also called as a critical period because at this time children begin to develop habits which usually tends to persist into adulthood. One of them is habit maintain dental and oral hygiene. Behavior of Indonesian children in caring oral health is still low. The problem with this study is the high scores OHI-S in teenage students at the Al Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School, Purboyo Regency Sidaorjo. The aim of this research is to gain knowledge about maintenance of oral hygiene of teenage students at the Al Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School Purboyo, Sidaorjo Regency. This research method is descriptive research. The target of this research is teenage students at the Al Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School Purboyo, Sidoarjo Regency, as many as 25 children. Instruments used in This research is in the form of a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used in This research involves calculating the amount of data from a questionnaire and then creating it averages in the form of frequency distributions and percentages and are presented in table form. The research results show that knowledge about Dental and oral hygiene in adolescent students at the Al Ikhlas Purboyo Islamic Boarding School Sidoarjo Regency is in the deficient criteria. Abstract

Dental caries is a dental tissue disease characterized by tissue damage, starting from the surface of the tooth to the layers of enamel, dentin and pulp. The problem in this research is the high rate of DMF-T in students aged 12 years. The aim of this research is to determine the use of application-based animation media about maintaining dental and oral health in increasing knowledge among 12 year old students at SDN Kalikuning 1, Tulakan District, Pacitan Regency. The type of research used was a Quasy Experiment with a one group pretest-posttest design. The research respondents were 12 year old students at SDN Kalikuning 1 Tulakan, Pacitan Regency, totaling 49 students. The research method for collecting data in this study used a pretest-posttest questionnaire sheet to increase students' knowledge about maintaining oral health. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Test using the SPSS data processing application. The result (improvement of prime) of this research is that the value of Asymp Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, there was an increase in knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance before and after counseling using application-based animation media. The conclusion of this research is that there is an increase in knowledge of dental and oral health maintenance, meaning that application-based animation media can increase students' knowledge about it effectively.

Abstract

The highness of dental caries score in students of SDN Rangkah 1 Surabaya is 8,4 where according to WHO, the DMF-T index above 6,6 is in the very high category. Dental caries can occur due to several factors, one of which is due to a lack of dental caries knowledge. Therefore, to increase students knowledge about caries, a board game was created to help convey information about dental caries. The purpose of the research was to find out the knowledge of dental caries of students of SDN Rangkah 1 Surabaya before and after counseling using board game media. The descriptive research method with the number of respondents was 48 students of SDN Rangkah 1 Surabaya which was counseling using board game media with data collection techniques using pretest and posttest questionnaires. The data analysis technique is by recapping the data results and then categorizing them according to the research criteria and presented in the form of tables. The results of this study are the knowledge of students of SDN Rangkah 1 Surabaya before counseling using board game media in the medium category and the knowledge of students of SDN Rangkah 1 Surabaya after counseling using board game media in the good category.

Abstract

The student learning process to get a success to change behavior in the learning process requires a means to convey good and interesting material. Videos are very attractive to generation 4.0 who are closer and like more sophisticated use, especially videos have funny and unique characters Dental and oral hygiene is a healthy condition that includes the ability to speak, smell, taste, chew, swallow, and express various facial expressions with confidence. Research Problem Based on the initial data of dental examination in appendix 3 on September 25, 2023 with a total of 47 students in classes VII and VIII of SMPN Diponegoro Surabaya, the debris index value was 2.0 or 82.9% of students were in the bad category because the SMPN only conducted UKS activities once a year and only checked for cavities. The purpose of the study was to find out the effectiveness of using video media. animation in increasing knowledge of maintaining dental and oral hygiene in classes VII and VIII of SMPN Diponegoro Surabaya. This type of research uses a pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest. The targets of this study were VII & VIII grade students of Diponegoro Junior High School Surabaya with 47 respondents. Data collection methods using questionnaire sheets. The results of the study of animated video media can effectively increase students' knowledge of dental and oral hygiene.
