Abstract

The quality of health services at the health center is greatly influenced by health equipment. Efforts to maintain health equipment so that it functions properly and is suitable for use include carrying out maintenance including calibration of medical devices. In 2022, the calibration achievement of health centers is still very low compared to the achievement of hospital calibration (health centers 34.1% and hospitals 70.2%). One of the factors causing the low calibration implementation is the lack of budget availability. In 2023, the government provided budget support for health center calibration through the Health Sector Nonphysical Special Allocation Fund. This study aims to determine the achievement of the implementation of medical device calibration at health centers in Indonesia in 2022 and 2023 and the effect of the Nonphysical Special Allocation Fund for the health sector in 2023 on improving the implementation of calibration at health centers. This study is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design. Data collection used secondary data with a total sampling of 10,374 health centers. Data analysis techniques were carried out univariate and bivariate using SPSS.  Univariate analysis showed an increase in the proportion of health centers that calibrated medical devices by 22.6% from 34.1% in 2022 to 56.7% in 2023. Similarly, the proportion of calibrated medical devices increased by 3.5% from 6.6% in 2022 to 11.6% in 2023. Bivariate analysis using the T-test obtained a p-value = 0.008 and the Chi-Square test obtained a p-value = 0.002, indicating an association between the Nonphysical Special Allocation Fund for the Health Sector and the increase in the calibration achievement of puskesmas in 2023.

Abstract

Since 2017, Bali Province has consistently ranked first in the lowest stunting prevalence in Indonesia. Planned programmes should be exploring and identifying certain factors which trigger stuntling, so as to reduce the prevalence of stuntin' at least in line with established distribution patterns. The data used in this research is secondary data from the Indonesian Nutrition Status Study in the Province. The analysis carried out included: Univariate analysis and multivariate analysis using backward logistic regression analysis. The results of the analysis of determinant factors and performance evaluation of the Nutrition and Health Program in Bali Province show that the factors that contribute to the stunting problem in Bali are: (a) area of residence (AOR= 1.57; 95%CI= 1.31 - 1.89); (b) PMT for pregnant women (AOR= 0.55; 95% CI= 0.39 - 0.78); (c) Pregnancy Examination (AOR= 0.83; 95%CI= 0.61 - 1.14); (d) Birth Status (AOR= 1.52; 95%CI= 1.22 - 1.90); (e) Body length at birth (AOR= 1.54 - 2.11); (f) Birth weight (AOR= 2.48; 95%CI= 1.71 - 3.58); (g) Variety of Toddler Consumption (AOR= 1.65; 95%CI= 1.36 - 2.00); and (h) Program Immunization (AOR=.0.69; 95%CI= 0.51 - 0.96). The potential for stunting occurs before the baby is born; therefore, it is recommended that priority programs be developed for women of childbearing age and pregnant women

Abstract

Drug Induced Gingival Overgrowth (DIGO) can be defined as local or general enlargement of the gingival tissue that occurs as a side effect of certain drugs such as immunosuppressive drugs, anticonvulsants and calcium channel blockers. Epilepsy is known to be closely related to cerebral palsy; 15-60% of children with cerebral palsy report having epilepsy requiring anticonvulsant drugs as routine therapy. When gingival enlargement occurs, it interferes with normal oral hygiene practices and can interfere with masticatory function. Gingival hyperplasia can be treated by stopping or changing drugs. In more severe cases, surgical treatment is required. A 6 year old boy patient with a history of epilepsy and cerebral palsy came with complaints of lumps in the gums of the right and left lower jaw. The patient started taking epilepsy medication about 3 years after being diagnosed with epilepsy. After about 1.5 years of taking epilepsy drugs, the patient experienced enlargement of all of his maxillary and mandibular gingiva. The patient was consulted to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of Hasan Sadikin General Hospital, on intra-oral examination we found there was gingival enlargement that covered almost the entire tooth surface, the treatment plan was carried out by a surgical procedure in stages under general anesthesia. The results obtained after surgery showed that the shape of the gingiva was normal and the patient's masticatory function had improved. In cases where there is overgrowth of the gingiva to cover the entire tooth surface, surgical procedure is a standard procedure to restore the normal shape of the gingiva.
