Abstract

This research aims to: (1) To find out the variation of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Enchanced Vegetation Index (EVI) in Padang City (2) To find out how the spatio temporal variation in Padang City area (3) To find out the relationship between Urban Heat Island (UHI) and vegetation density index using Person Product Moment analysis in Padang City. The research used a quantitative approach with descriptive research type. The variables used in this study are vegetation density using NDVI and EVI analysis techniques. Surface temperature analysis using LST (Land Surface Temperature) analysis technique. The results of the study in 2013, 2019, and 2023 in Padang City had good vegetation density dominated by high vegetation density categories. Pearson Product Moment correlation shows vegetation density using NDVI and surface temperature affect UHI which has a strong correlation in 2013, 2019, and 2023. EVI correlation also has a strong correlation in 2013, 2019, 2023.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this research is: 1) To determine the population projection in Lubuk Begalung District in the year 207. 2) To ascertain the demand for clean water in Lubuk Begalung District based on the projected population increase over the next 10 years. The research design employed in this study is Quantitative Descriptive. The data utilized consists of secondary data and secondary data encompassing population figures, PDAM customers, and clean water availability data in Lubuk Begalung District. The analytical technique employed includes the Population Projection Method, specifically the Arithmetic Method, to predict the population, along with the prediction of clean water demand in the year 2027.The outcomes of this study reveal that Lubuk Begalung District is experiencing a significant increase in population and is categorized as a "Medium City" for the next 10 years, reaching a total population of 136.896 by the year 2027. Calculations for domestik and non-domestik clean water demand in 2027 for Lubuk Begalung District amount to 234.43 L/second, with estimated water loss reaching 35.52 L/second. Furthermore, based on the population projection, it is determined that the number of people to be served by PDAM in 2027 will be 127,944, with a per capita water requirement of 213.12 L/day. The total water availability at PDAM Kota Padang is 47.328.357 m3/s. From this comparison, it can be concluded that the current water source availability is still capable of meeting the clean water demand in the Lubuk Begalung District area until 2027.

Abstract

Abstract

Bukit Tigapuluh National Park (TNBT) is one of the national parks located on the island of Sumatra, known for its diverse protected fauna and flora, including the Sumatran Elephant. The surge in human activities such as poaching, forest fragmentation, and habitat destruction has led to an increasing potential for conflict between elephants and humans in the vicinity of TNBT. This study analyzes the potential distribution of conflicts between Sumatran elephants and humans around TNBT using the Maximum Entropy application, with conflict point data and environmental variables as references. The output of this research aims to analyze which environmental variables significantly contribute to Sumatran elephant and human conflicts (KGM) based on their distance from the conflict points. According to the modeling results, the environmental variables with significant contributions are forest edges and plantation areas, accounting for 48.1% and 24.8%, respectively, of the conflicts involving Sumatran elephants around TNBT. Tebo Regency is identified as an area highly prone to KGM around TNBT, with a total potential high-risk area covering approximately 46,685 hectares.

Abstract

The city of Padang is one of the areas that has a high level of vulnerability to tsunami disasters. People can anticipate tsunamis, one of which is by building houses in a tsunami safe zone, but before many people do this anticipation, it is best to test the habitability of the settlement. The aim of this research is to find out habitable settlements in the tsunami safe zone of Padang City. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method by utilizing the Geographic Information System through a weighting and scoring method for each indicator. The results of the analysis show that there are 5 classes of vulnerability with a very low level of vulnerability dominating 43,089 Ha or 64.62%, in settlements in accordance with the Padang City Regional Spatial Plan, counting 11 sub-districts with livable settlements in accordance with the results obtained through weight calculations and scoring in each indicator is 2,635 Ha or around 23.87% of the total settlements in the Padang City Regional Spatial Planning Plan.

Abstract

The city of Padang Panjang, with its undulating topography, faces difficulties in utilizing land for settlement as population growth increases. This study aims to analyze the carrying capacity and accommodating capacity of residential land in the city. Descriptive quantitative research methods with data presented through tables and maps, calculations refer to the Ministry of Environment's 2014 carrying capacity guidelines and the Guidelines for Housing and Settlement Area Development and Development Plan (RP3KP). The results showed that in 2022, Padang Panjang City has a Settlement Carrying Capacity (DDPm) value of > 1. Kelurahan Ganting achieved the highest score of 14.4 and Kelurahan Pasar Baru had the lowest score of 1.8. The area of land suitable for settlement is around 672 hectares, can accommodate 264,309 people with a total of 66,077 housing units. Kelurahan Kampung Manggis stands out with a high capacity, able to accommodate around 34,864 people, while Pasar Baru has the lowest capacity, only 503 people.

Abstract

The Kayu Tanam Urban Area has various morphological variations, namely agricultural areas on the South side, hilly areas on the West side and mountainous areas on the North side. This situation gives rise to various potential natural disasters in the Kayu Tanam urban area, so it is necessary to check the suitability of the spatial pattern for the existing disaster vulnerability. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods, by carrying out overlay and scoring techniques on flood parameters based on Paimin (2009) and overlaying landslide parameters which is carried out to determine the vulnerability class of the classification results of each parameter which can cause low, medium and high landslide categories to occur. The results of this research show that the percentage of area prone to landslides is dominated by the Type C Low Landslide Susceptibility Zone, 2328.66 ha, while the least vulnerable area is the Type A High Landslide Susceptibility Zone, 11.19 ha. Then the percentage area prone to flooding in the Not Prone class is 3057.68 ha, Slightly Prone 956.24 ha, Somewhat Prone 37.96 ha and Prone 99.17 ha.
