Abstract

Illegal Mining (Penambangan Tanpa Izin/PETI) is a serious problem causing significant negative impacts on the environment, society, and economy in Indonesia. Conventional monitoring systems used so far face various limitations, such as a lack of human resources, infrastructure, and adequate technology, making the supervision and control of PETI less effective. This article examines the potential utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology as an innovative solution to improve the effectiveness of monitoring PETI activities. By leveraging AI, monitoring can be conducted in real-time, with accuracy, and across wide areas through the integration of satellite imagery, drones, and IoT sensors. However, the implementation of AI also faces challenges such as limited human resources, infrastructure, data security issues, and insufficient regulations. Therefore, this study recommends collaboration among government agencies, the private sector, and academia, capacity building for human resources, and the formulation of adaptive regulations as strategic steps to optimize the use of AI in monitoring and combating PETI in Indonesia. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for policymakers and practitioners in integrating advanced technology to safeguard the sustainability of natural resources.

Abstract

This study analyzes the transparency and accountability of village financial management in improving community welfare in Indonesia. The research method uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis of secondary data from publications of the Central Statistics Agency and Ministry of Finance for the period 2022-2024. The results show that Village Fund allocation has increased significantly from IDR 72 trillion in 2024 to IDR 71 trillion in 2025, with incentive distribution to 15,124 outstanding villages. The implementation of digital village financial systems has increased financial reporting transparency by 68% throughout Indonesia. The accountability of village financial management shows improvement through the application of measurable technical, administrative, and legal principles. Community participation in village financial supervision reaches 45% of the total village population. These findings indicate that transparency and accountability in village finances are positively correlated with improved welfare of rural communities. Research recommendations include strengthening village information systems, increasing village apparatus capacity, and optimizing community participation in village financial management.

This study analyzes the impact of information technology adoption on operational efficiency of MSMEs using quantitative approach through surveys of 250 MSMEs in Central Java. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to examine relationships between information technology adoption variables and operational efficiency. Results indicate that information technology adoption has significant positive effect on MSME operational efficiency with determination coefficient of 0.742. Implementation of point-of-sale systems, e-commerce, and digital inventory management proved to increase operational productivity by 35.6% and reduce operational costs up to 28.4%. Factors influencing adoption include business owner digital literacy, infrastructure support, and financial capacity. These findings provide strategic implications for MSME digitalization policy development and digital transformation strategies for small and medium enterprise sector in Indonesia.

Abstract

Legal protection for workers is a crucial aspect of employment law to ensure welfare and job security. However, in practice, there are still many invalid employment contracts that conflict with laws and regulations, such as the misuse of Fixed-Term Employment Agreements (PKWT) that exceed the specified time limit, fictitious contracts, and agreements that do not provide legal certainty for workers. This study aims to analyze the forms of employment contracts that conflict with employment law and the obstacles to legal protection for workers. This study uses a normative legal method with a statutory approach and an analytical approach focuses on the analysis of Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Job Creation, Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower, and other related regulations. The results show that weak supervision, low understanding of workers' rights, and the difficulty of the dispute resolution process are the main factors that hinder legal protection for workers against invalid employment contracts. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize policies and enforce stricter laws so that workers' rights can be protected effectively.

Abstract

This study focuses on the importance of regulating restrictions on press freedom in the dissemination of information in Indonesia to analyze the related legal aspects and identify the impacts that arise due to the unclear regulation. Based on a normative legal study with a statute approach, the main findings obtained indicate that until now, Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press has not specifically regulated the limitations of press freedom, which leads to the potential for abuse of this freedom, such as the spread of hoaxes, slander, or inaccurate information that can harm various parties, both individuals, groups, and the state. It risks weakening the quality of journalism because the media tends to prioritize sensation over accuracy and truth. Therefore, this study emphasizes the urgency of revising and improving existing regulations so that press freedom remains a pillar of democracy, but within clear limits and by legal principles and journalistic ethics, to prevent potential abuse that can damage reputation and social stability.

Abstract

This research examines the relationship between fiscal deficit and inflation in Indonesia during the 2000-2023 period. Using secondary data from Bank Indonesia and the Ministry of Finance, this study applies correlation and regression analysis methods to test the linkage between these variables. The results show a moderate positive correlation (r=0.61) between fiscal deficit and inflation in Indonesia, with significant but non-linear influences across different periods. Further analysis reveals that this relationship is moderated by factors such as economic growth, Bank Indonesia's monetary policy, and external conditions. These findings imply the importance of synchronizing fiscal and monetary policies to maintain Indonesia's macroeconomic stability, as well as considering structural aspects such as production capacity and government spending efficiency in fiscal deficit management.

Abstract

This research examines the dual role of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) as business entities and agents of national development. The study analyzes how SOEs balance profit orientation with social responsibility in carrying out their function as a state instrument in economic development. Through a literature review approach and document analysis of several SOEs in Indonesia, the research reveals the dynamic relationship between commercial objectives and social missions. The results indicate that SOEs face dilemmas in balancing business efficiency with the public service obligations, while corporate governance emerges as a key factor in optimizing both roles. The research concludes that clear regulatory frameworks and effective monitoring mechanisms are necessary to ensure SOEs can optimally fulfill their dual fuctions.

Abstract

Indonesia, as one of the largest food-importing nations globally, experiences significant volatility in domestic food prices driven by global market fluctuations. The liberalization of trade, particularly in the agriculture sector, has generated mixed outcomes. While empirical studies highlight potential welfare gains, the benefits are disproportionately skewed toward developed countries, leaving developing economy increasingly dependent on food imports. Strategic commodities such as rice, maize, soybeans, and sugar are especially vulnerable, raising concerns over national food security. Moreover, food security in Indonesia encompasses a multi-dimensional framework, involving not only supply and access, but also household-level consumption patterns and state interventions. In light of these dynamics, this paper argues for the formulation of commodity-specific and temporally responsive food security policies. It emphasizes the integration of theoretical and empirical models that incorporate both global trade realities and localized policy responses to ensure sustainable and equitable food resilience in the context of liberalized markets.
