Abstract

Cyclic codes were discovered by Prange in 1957. They have served as the foundation for the development of modern coding theory, such as Hamming codes, Golay codes, Reed-Solomon codes, and others. Cyclic codes are closely related to generator polynomials of a polynomial ring. This research uses a literature review method using relevant international articles and books. The research will revisit several aspects of Ling and Xing's work on generator polynomial of ideal in polynomial ring and its relevance to cyclic code. Furthermore, detailed explanations will be provided along with several examples.

Abstract

This research aims to solve the Dynamic Travelling Salesman Problem (DTSP) using hybrid Bat algorithm and Harmony Search. Dynamic Travelling Salesman Problem (DTSP) which is a development of Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) of which is a problem that aims to find the route with shortest distance in visiting several cities. In DTSP, the cities that should be visited can be changed any time. This changed can be the addition of cities or the deletion of cities that should be visited. Bat Algorithm (BA) is a an optimization method inspired by the echolocation behavior of bats act as a signal system to sense distance and location of prey. Harmony Search Algorithm (HSA) is an optimization method that is based on natural musical performance processes that occur when a musician searches for an optimal state of harmony. The hybrid Bat algorithm and Harmony Search can be applied to solve the Dynamic Traveling Salesman Problem (DTSP) with 9 steps, starting from parameter initialization to updating the cities.

Abstract

Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever is an endemic disease caused by dengue virus and transmitted to humans through female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Gresik are 3 cities in East Java which have the highest density of Aedes aegypti larvae in 2013 – 2016. This research aims to isolate the Native Entomopathogenic Bacillus sp. from Soil Sediment of Water Reservoir of Breeding sites of Aedes aegypti and to know their potential biolarvacidal potency against Aedes aegypti larvae. The Soil sediments were taken from 10 sites in Surabaya, 10 sites in Sidoarjo and 10 sites in Gresik. Isolation of bacteria was performed using growth media of Bacillus sp., identified with Gram and spore stainings, and biolarvacidal potency test was performed on the third instar larval stage of Aedes Aegypti. Eight Native Entomopathogenic Bacillus sp. were isolated and those isolates were toxic to the third instar larvae of Aedes Aegypti more than 50% mortality. The highest level of killing power of these Bacillus sp. are isolate from Gresik, G6.4 which has 100% mortality, then followed by isolates from Surabaya, S7.3 and S4.3 which has 96,7% mortality and S4.5 which has 80% mortality at 48 hours exposure time with the same optical density (A600 nm = 0,8).

Abstract

This research aims to isolate local entomopathogenic bacteria Bacillus sp. from the body of Aedes aegypti larvae and to know the potency of local entomopathogenic bacteria Bacillus sp. in killing Aedes aegypti III instar larvae. This research is descriptive study with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Bacillus sp. was isolated by destroying the larvae sample and heated in a temperature of 70ºC. Then, the sample was diluted 10-1–10-3. After that, each dilution was grown for 48 hours. Then, purification of bacteria suspected as Bacillus was performed. Gram staining and spore staining as microscopic tests were carried out on colonies that resembled Bacillus sp.. Bacillus sp isolate which have been obtained was used in preliminary and advanced stages of potential test against instar larvae III of Aedes aegypti. Data was visualized in tables and graphs, then analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed that in the preliminary stage of potential test, 120 isolates of Bacillus sp. were obtained, as many as 32% had no potency, 41% had low potency, 15% had moderate potency, and 12% had high potency. The results of the advanced stage of potential tests on high-potential isolates showed 3 isolates with the highest potency in killing Aedes aegypti larvae. They were SB3 3, SB9 1, and SD4 2 with percentage of larval mortality of 100%, 96.7%, and 100%, respectively.

Abstract

The Uncapacitated Facility Location Problem (UFLP) is a problem that aims to find the optimal location for building facilities where these facilities will serve a number of m customers. Additionally, there are a set of n locations available to build n facilities. In this problem, it is assumed that the facilities have no capacity limitations in serving customers, meaning that all demands from each customer are served by a single facility, and there is only one facility at each location. The objective function of the UFLP is to minimize the total cost. This research aims to apply the Harmony Search (HS) algorithm and Simulated Annealing (SA) algorithm to solve the Uncapacitated Facility Location Problem (UFLP). The HS algorithm, developed by Geem et al. (2001), is a method based on the process of a musician searching for the right harmony through three modes of note searching: replacing the old note, modifying the old note slightly, or changing the old note based on the musician's memory. The SA algorithm, developed by Dreo et al. (2006), mimics the annealing process in crystal hardening. To produce high-quality crystals, the temperature must be lowered, then slightly raised before being lowered again. The solution to this problem involves several processes, including initializing parameters such as Harmony Memory Size (HMS), Harmony Memory Considering (or Accepting) Rate (HMCR), Pitch Adjusting Rate (PAR), bandwidth, initial temperature , temperature decay rate (), final temperature , and maximum iterations; then generating the Harmony Memory (HM) population, calculating the objective function values for HM, evaluating the objective function for HM, modifying the worst individual in HM, checking the modification results, applying the SA modification, checking the SA modification results, determining the best solution in HM, checking for the maximum iterations, and finally calculating the total cost.

Abstract

AIDS is a collection of symptoms of infectious diseases that arise as a result of the weakened immune system of the patient, caused by the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Mathematical models play an important role in understanding the dynamics of HIV/AIDS transmission, especially with the presence of treatment, and can be used to predict its spread through numerical simulations of the mathematical model of HIV/AIDS transmission with treatment. This research discusses the analysis of a fractional-order mathematical model of HIV/AIDS transmission with treatment. The model is a modification of the nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equation (ODE) system into a Fractional Differential Equation (FDE) system. Generally, solutions to nonlinear ODEs are difficult to find analytically. However, a mathematical model that can be solved analytically is the Fractional Differential Equation (FDE) system. One method for solving FDEs is using the Homotopy Perturbation Method (HPM), which transforms the FDE into a Homotopy Differential Equation system by multiplying each equation in the FDE with an embedding parameter (p). The solution is expressed as an infinite series, which is then solved numerically. As the fractional derivative order increases, the changes in the graph of the healthy population susceptible to HIV/AIDS infection, the population infected with HIV/AIDS, the population with full-blown AIDS not receiving ARV treatment, the population receiving ARV treatment, and the healthy population changing lifestyle patterns, become faster.

Abstract

The Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP) is one of the well-known problems in operational research. This problem arises in various applications such as telecommunications, electronics, logistics, transportation, astronomy, industry, and so on. The TSP involves a salesman who must visit all cities, with each city being visited exactly once, and the salesman must start and return to the origin city. The goal is to determine the route with the minimum travel distance or total cost. Cat Swarm Optimization (CSO) is an optimization algorithm based on the natural behavior of cats. This behavior is modeled in two submodels: the seeking mode and the tracing mode. Discrete Cat Swarm Optimization (DCSO) is a version of CSO that uses integer encoding. Simulated Annealing (SA) is a method used to find the global minimum of a cost function that may have local minima. SA works by mimicking a physical process in which a solid is slowly cooled so that, eventually, the structure freezes into a configuration with the minimum energy. Since the solutions produced by the DCSO algorithm may get trapped in a local optimum, and SA is capable of finding the global minimum of a solution from a local minimum, this research aims to solve the TSP by combining (hybridizing) both the DCSO and SA algorithms. The hybrid process is carried out by performing the SA process after the DCSO iterations, except for the final iteration. The hybrid process of DCSO and SA begins with the initialization of parameters, input data, followed by the seeking mode and tracing mode. The worst result from DCSO will then be processed using the SA algorithm.

Abstract

Application of chemical insecticides as a DHF vector control has some negative impact so it needs to be handled by aplication of bioinsectisides from potential bacterias one of which is bacterias from genus Bacillus. This research aims to find out the characteristics of potential Bacillus that isolation from mosquito larvae and sediment breeding places of Aedes aegypti which has been potential tested and has the highest mortality to Aedes aegypti larvae, so the species of Bacillus that can be used to bionsectisides can be known. Characterization in this research involved macroscopic characterization, microscopic characterization, and physiological characterization from each isolate from the results of isolation in Aedes aegypti larvae and sediment breeding places of Aedes aegypti, which is then the percentage of similarities index with comparable coefficient calculated between isolate of bacillus were isolated and species of bacillus in the reference book Bergey’s Manual of Systematic Bacteriology 2nd edition, so the species name of Bacillus was obtained. Isolate EG6(4), ES7(3), and LS9(1) is Bacillus thuringiensis with each similarity percentage 80,6%, 78,12%, and 62,5%, while isolate ES4(3), LSDA4(2), and LS3(3) is Bacillus sphaericus with each similarity percentage 71,4%, 82,6%, and 63,3%. In this case, molecular characterization is still needed to ensure more about the species name of each isolates.

Abstract

Ternary semiring was first introduced by Dutta dan Kar in 2003. Ternary semiring is a generalization of ternary ring. Ternary semiring is an algebraic structure consisting of a nonempty set together with a binary operation, called addition and a ternary multiplication, which forms a commutative monoid relative to binary addition, monoid relative to ternary multiplication, and the left, lateral, and right distributive laws hold. In this research, we use method of literature study on article which have published in international journal. In this research, we study more several parts of research from Dutta and Mandal about 2-primal ternary semirings, but will focus only on ternary semiring, including some ideals, prime radical, nilpotent element, super nilpotent ternary semiring, and 2-primal ternary semiring. Next, a more detailed discussion will be provided and accompanied by several examples using sets of matrices.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze Avian Influenza spread model around the equilibrium point. The population discussed is the poultry population which consists of two sub-populations, namely susceptible and infective. The method used is literature study through reference books and scientific articles related to the models. Then, the mathematical model, equilibrium point, and model stability were calculated. The results of calculations were made into a simulation model using Matlab and Maple software. It was found that there was an Avian Influenza virus spread to the poultry population which was influenced by several factors, namely birth, natural death, death due to infection, and migration (movement).
