Abstract

Abstract

The furniture industry encompasses various activities, from raw material processing to the production of finished goods. XYZ Furniture Store faces challenges in determining the optimal production quantities of wooden tables and chairs to maximize profits while managing limited resources such as raw materials and production time. This study aims to analyze and find an optimal solution using the graphical method in Linear Programming (LP). The methodology includes problem identification, data collection on per-unit profit, raw material requirements, and production time per product. A mathematical model is developed with an objective function to maximize profit and constraints reflecting available resource limitations. The graphical method is applied by visualizing constraints in a two-dimensional graph to determine the feasible area and evaluating extreme points to identify the optimal solution. The findings indicate that the optimal production quantities are 16.8 units of tables and 6.6 units of chairs per day, yielding a maximum profit of Rp1,104,000. The graphical method proves to be an effective approach for solving optimization problems involving two decision variables—table and chair production—affected by raw material limitations of 30 kg per day and a maximum production time of 40 hours per day. The conclusion of this study provides strategic recommendations for XYZ Furniture Store to enhance production efficiency and profitability. These findings also highlight that Linear Programming is a valuable analytical tool for making production decisions in the furniture industry with constrained resources.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the reliability of a measurement system using the Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (Gage R&R) method on Chocolatos wafer length measurements. The experiment involved three appraisers, each measuring five wafers with three repeated trials. The collected data were processed through several steps to determine repeatability (EV), reproducibility (AV), and overall measurement system capability (%R&R). The results showed that the %R&R value was 95%, indicating that the gage system is not satisfactory. Furthermore, the repeatability value was higher than the reproducibility value, which suggests that the main source of measurement variation comes from the measuring instrument. Therefore, the gage requires maintenance and possibly redesign. This research highlights the importance of proper calibration and system evaluation to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability.

Abstract

Plantation land with agroforestry is one alternative to reduce the adverse effects of reduced soil fertility quality and loss of microorganism biodiversity. The diversity and abundance of soil microbial communities leads to better nutrient availability in rubber-canna intercroppingg fields than in rubber monoculture lands. Intercroppingg planting patterns containing rhizosphere bacteria beneficial for fertility and availability nutrition and superior phytohormone promoters. Comparison of the presence of bacteria in intercroppingg and monoculture soil soils using metagenomic analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequencing with Bioinformatics method. Analysis of the diversity and abundance of microorganisms using an alpha-diversity matrix of Chao1 and Shannon_E index types. Phylum Proteobacteria were found, which is one of the rhizosphere bacteria whose abundance according to alpha-diversity analysis data reached 49% in intercroppingg and 27% in monoculture fields. Some bacteria of the phylum proteobacteria are: Azospirillum sp., B. zhanjiangense, Phenylobacterium Pseudolabrys sp.  it is reported to play a role in the cycle of improving the quality of soil fertility. In the rubber-canna intercroppingg system, the abundance and microbial communities available on the intercroppingg land are higher in abundance and have specific functions compared to monoculture systems. Therefore the abundance of rhizosphere bacteria produces a more maximal mechanism.

Abstract

The garment industry is a crucial sector in the production of clothing and textiles, which supports societal needs. However, its production processes, involving various types of machinery and work tools, pose significant health and safety risks to employees. These risks need to be well managed to ensure workplace safety and to prevent potential accidents that could harm both employees and the company. This study was conducted at Ruang Klambi, a small garment industry located in South Tangerang. The purpose of the study is to identify and analyze potential workplace accidents and provide recommendations for improvements to enhance occupational health and safety (OHS). In this research, two main methods were used for hazard identification: Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Through FMEA, 44 potential accidents were identified across 9 work activities in the clothing and textile production process. Subsequently, FTA was used to identify the root causes of these potential accidents. The analysis revealed 42 root causes, which were then simplified to 34 main root causes after the cutset process. Based on these root causes, recommendations were developed focusing on the prevention and control of potential workplace accidents. The implementation of these improvement recommendations is expected to significantly enhance the level of OHS at Ruang Klambi, creating a safer and more productive work environment for all employees.
