Abstract

A citizen lawsuit is a legal instrument that allows individuals or groups to hold the government accountable for actions or policies deemed to violate human and constitutional rights. In the Indonesian legal system, although not explicitly regulated by law, this practice has developed through court decisions and the active role of civil society in demanding justice. This article aims to analyze the status, function, and urgency of strengthening the citizen lawsuit mechanism in defending public rights violated by the state. The method used is a normative juridical approach, examining legal literature, court decisions, and relevant regulations from the past five years. The results of the study indicate that citizen lawsuits not only serve as a means of correcting government policies but also play a crucial role in strengthening the principles of the rule of law, accountability, and participatory democracy.

Abstract

This study investigated the influence of civic education on the development of moral reasoning and prosocial behaviour among secondary school students in Zamfara State, Nigeria. Specifically, it examined the effect of civic education on students’ moral reasoning, its influence on prosocial behaviour, and the relationship between moral reasoning and prosocial behaviour. A descriptive correlation survey research design was employed, and a total of 384 students were selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire titled Civic Education, Moral Reasoning, and Prosocial Behaviour Questionnaire (CEMRPBQ), which was validated by experts and demonstrated high reliability with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.89. Responses were measured on a five-point Likert scale. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics to summarize respondents’ perceptions and inferential statistics, including multiple regression and Pearson correlation, to test the research hypotheses. The findings revealed that civic education significantly enhances moral reasoning (β = 0.643, p < .001) and prosocial behaviour (β = 0.611, p < .001) among students. Furthermore, a strong positive relationship was observed between moral reasoning and prosocial behaviour (r = .712, p < .01), indicating that higher levels of moral reasoning are associated with increased prosocial tendencies. The study concluded that civic education plays a critical role in promoting ethical cognition and socially responsible behaviours among adolescents. It is recommended that schools adopt structured civic education programs, and teachers employ participatory teaching methods to reinforce moral and prosocial development in students.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged educational institutions, including madrasahs, to adapt learning systems that are more flexible and innovative. One learning approach currently widely applied is the hybrid learning model, which combines face-to-face learning with online learning. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the hybrid learning model in improving learning effectiveness in madrasahs, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and explain the impact of hybrid learning on student learning outcomes and participation. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of library research by reviewing various scientific literature, journals, books, and relevant research results related to hybrid learning and Islamic education. Data were analyzed descriptively through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the hybrid learning model can improve learning effectiveness in madrasahs through increased flexibility, accessibility, student learning motivation, and more interactive learning processes. However, several obstacles were also found, such as limited internet access, uneven technological mastery among teachers, and inadequate infrastructure. Therefore, collaboration between madrasah institutions, teachers, students, and parents is needed to optimize the implementation of hybrid learning in the future.

Abstract

Action Research is a research methodology oriented toward improving practice through cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection. This article aims to critically analyze the conceptual evolution, model development, implementation, and contemporary challenges of Action Research within educational research. The study employs a Critical Literature Review (CLR) approach, analyzing relevant scholarly literature through processes of identification, selection, evaluation, and thematic synthesis. The findings indicate that Action Research has evolved from a practical problem-solving approach into a methodology that is reflective, collaborative, and focused on developing evidence-based educational practices. Its implementation contributes to enhancing the quality of learning, teacher professionalism, and educational innovation. However, its application still faces various challenges, including limited methodological competence, difficulties in conducting literature reviews and identifying research gaps, heavy administrative burdens, and pressures regarding scholarly publication and adaptation to digital technology. Therefore, strengthening research competence, fostering a culture of reflection and professional collaboration, and utilizing technology ethically are crucial factors in improving the quality of Action Research implementation. This article is intended to serve as a conceptual reference for researchers, academics, and educational practitioners in developing action research that is more systematic, innovative, and relevant to the dynamics of education.
