Abstract

The internal justification of the individuality leads us to a tendency of a solipsistic self. This justification lacks a consideration to include external agent or the others as a part of recognition of the individuality of the self. The analytical approach argues that the reference of the external agent in utterance realizes the individuality of the speaking subject. This viewpoint of the significance of the external agent should be equipped with another approach. Nishida’s account of the principle of the absolute negation qua affirmation brings forth the argument that the individuality of the self realizes the nature of interconnectivity with the others. This interconnectivity then marks the shareability of individuals. This article yearns for a social system that allows the safeguarding of the individual and at once the upgrading of dialogical interactions between individuals for the benefit of ingenious construction of the world of reality. Keywords:*internal justification *solipsistic self *individuality *shareability *absolute negation qua affirmation *shareability of the self *continuity of discontinuity *public place *dialogical interactions

Abstract

Reading Schleiermacher’s Speeches might give rise to different experience of religion. It appears that the more important issue today is not the identity (being), but the communality and sociality, for communality is a ‘space’ where one’s being is able to move in its ‘becoming’. The importance of experience is now considered much more than before. In this article the emphasis on one’s experience and its connectedness with that of others is refreshed and further elaborated. Schleiermacher’s ideas question the traditional patterns of (Christian) communities, which to some extent have implanted uniformity, dogmatism and oppressions, as being responsible for the emergence of indifferentism today. Community, as Schleiermacher has pleaded in the Speeches, must be fluid and broadly inclusive. The immediate self-consciousness is depicted in the moment of ‘listening’—the world might have been blinded by appearances and made deaf by the voices, but there remains the process of listening. Maybe a time for a ‘listening’ religion? A ‘listening’ religious community? Keywords :*religion *fragmentation *virtuality *indifferentism *power*rational Christianity *institutional representation *fascination*'true' religion *appearances to experiences *intuition *feeling*continuous reciprocity *fluid and inclusive community

Abstract

The advanced nature of art owes to the fact that it involves the complexity of 'human' in its process, with all the capacities: emotions, feelings, soul, mind, imagination, will, attitudes, perceptions, values and meanings. Science and technology, by contrast, does not deal directly with these human dimensions. While at the beginning of this article 'science' and 'art' are seen as two completely different disciplines, in today development, particularly in the development of ‘post-modern science,’ the boundaries between them appear to be dissolving. The methods of science now even 'fuse' with the ‘methods’ of art. Among the discoveries of science there have been used the 'paradigm of the art' or the 'artistic courses of action'. In contrast, the patterns in art itself now also rely on scientific and technological discoveries, such as imaging technology (imagology) or virtual reality. What is developing in the discourse of searching 'knowledge' in all areas is the so-called 'artistic paradigm'. 'Artistic paradigm' is a model of searching for knowledge (truth, wisdom, beauty), by allowing the mind to move dynamically in the disorder, the black box, and chaos, but then to find a dynamic equilibrium in the so-called the 'edge of chaos'.

Abstract

With regard to the connectedness of the political subject and its community, Rawls’s theory of justice has often been criticised by the thinkers whose thoughts are oriented towards community. Rawls was considered to have impoverished the political subject by treating it as floating individual, rooted out of its foundation in community. In the middle of the debate that was still going on around this matter, an edited version of the young Rawls’s thesis was published. Despite the fact that this did not help much in saving this philosopher from the criticism by the communitarian thinkers because of his final preference that leaned towards political conception, the ethical theological work at least showed that communitarian position was once chosen by Rawls. By reading and comparing and juxtaposing this work with his later works, we can see that Rawls, the proposer of justice as fairness, did not completely drop his younger thought on person and community. In other words, between the theological ethics of the Young Rawls and the justice theory of Rawls there is a continuity of thought. This can be sensed among other in his basic assumptions on the individual and the society, those he implies in his argument on the ‘difference principle’ and the ‘principle of equal opportunity’. Keywords :*person *personality *individual *community *society *difference principle *principle of equal opportunity *fairness *equality *equality in community *civic friendship *interpersonal*relationship *comprehensive doctrine

Abstract

Abstract

Immanuel Kant has been considered as one of the prominent philosophers that in a way put an end to metaphysics. Kant’s critique of metaphysics is directed towards the totalizing unity of mythological narratives, religious doctrines, and philosophical explanations. The basic concepts of narratives, religions, and philosophy had riled upon a syndrome of validity that dissolved with the emergence of expert cultures in science, morality, and law and with the autonomy of art. Today, philosophy could establish its own distinct criteria of validity under conditions of rationality in relation to science that is fallible. Habermas puts forward that philosophy after Kant can no longer be a metaphysics in the sense of “conclusive” and “totalizing” thinking. In his communication theory, Habermas develops a theory of philosophy that is not reducible to a simple totality but has social complexity as its ground that is a number of plural language games, different orders of power, different structures of politics constituting modern time. Habermas is thus concerned with developing a theory of philosophy in general as a discourse of social differentiation. Keywords:*paradigm shift *metaphysics *post-metaphysics *identity/totalizing thinking *situating reason *proceduralrationality *discourse ethics
