Celebrating the liturgy is still regarded as a duty. It was not particularly wrong. Even the church itself teaches and demands the faithful to attend the liturgy with some penalties if this obligation is ignored. Art is not so much friendly with the word 'duty'. The ‘ludic’ spirit of the liturgy cannot work with force. If the liturgy is seen as an art, then the basic character of beauty which has the dimensions of luring and tempting can indirectly educate the human person in order to be better able to 'bow down', to be more humble before the Mystery. Artistic liturgy will invite without force. The liturgy expects resignation, ‘sumarah’, an attitude of admiration, worship and awe. It is like Moses who had to take off his sandals to approach the burning bush. The beauty of the liturgy brings the meanings of encounter and promise. The beauty of the liturgy is supposed to free the human to understand all, to be understood readily, to be silent and to adore in the presence of the Mystery. In this case the liturgy makes humans more humane. Liturgy should bring back human to his or her true self, to his or her original nature.

It has been contextual nowadays to observe the traditional feng-shui theory currently becoming popular topic of discussion. The discussion covers the stake holders in building industry, developers, home owners, professionals, and among the academics of architecture education in the universities. It analyses in brief about its history, the major premises in feng-shui, any changes through the Chinese cultural history timeline, the application tools to transfer the concept into real construction, the persistence of feng-shui in modern life, and the discussions within current contextual situation.

Information conveyed through the history is not always recorded in writing, but also in various other media. Information about events in the past can be obtained in various ways and in various forms. K.R.T. Purbaningrat, a Kraton Yogyakarta abdidalĕm who lived during the colonial times chose a unique way to 'record' the historical events of his time. As a ‘choreographer’, K.R.T. Purbaningrat used the mystical dance bĕdhaya as a medium to record and pass on information. Sindhenan in bĕdhaya was used as well to reveal the important events surrounding the king and his kingdom. This paper wants to suggest an interpretation of a cultural dance used to record historical events. It also brings forward a challenge for contemporary history science in the discovery and interpretation of historical information sources other than writings. Keywords:informasi sejarah l K.R.T. This article is an endeavour to be ‘imagerially present’ among the believers in Java, and in this way, could add to the sensitivity to what is happening in the praxis of faith of the Catholics in Java. Christian faith may have caused some changes in the believers’ imagination. Catechesis on the church in Java can take many advantages from this research, considering that its outcome comprises of the church images which can be used to enhance the catechetical material. The distinction of images appears in four dimensions (the believers’ imagerial preferences, the church’s relevance, the believers’ intentions to participate and their contextual and meaningful images). This research is an opening towards further reflections about ‘imagerial catechesis’ in Java. In this eye, it prepares a necessary path for deepening the conviction that the believers’ ‘cultural’ ways of being church are an essential element in the process of doing theology with images. No less than seventeen images have surfaced during the efforts of re-imagining the church images. These ‘cultural’ and communal images are correlated with the ‘biblical’ images of the church in order to unearth the believers’ interpretations of the latter within the sociocultural contexts.

Rationalism has led to the inability of capturing the presence of the divine in human activities. In such situations, the rites tend to be seen as a mere ceremonial activities and secularism pervades religious life in the believers’ ways of living of their faith. Secularism happens when people only look at the physical and material elements in the religious activities, and not the work of the Spirit in an institution or in particular rites. Secular world happens because God no longer has a place in human life. A religious becomes a secular person if he or she is "not afraid of God", "does not appreciate God", and "does not recognize God’s role in life". God is probably recognised, but God is far from the real life. To counter secularism in the rites and bridging the sacred and the profane worlds, rites should never be separated from life, the concept of life needs to be developed from the concept of the self as God's image, and the self-concept needs to be renewed constantly towards the direction of the integral self.
