Abstract

In the implementation of da'wah methods in Islamic educational institutions, such as boarding schools, the role of a Kiai (religious leader) is crucial in determining the success of the da'wah process. A Kiai, who leads a boarding school, is expected to possess both intellectual and practical skills in his capacity as a preacher, ensuring that the message of da'wah is delivered effectively, efficiently, and accurately to its intended audience. This assertion raises several research questions: What is the da'wah concept of Dr. KH. Asep Saifuddin Chalim, MA, at Amanatul Ummah Islamic Boarding School in Pacet, Mojokerto? How does he apply this concept? And what challenges are encountered in the application of his da'wah methods? The research addressing these questions employed qualitative methods, focusing on the da'wah approach. Data collection involved descriptive analytical techniques, gathering information in the form of words, images, and documents rather than numbers. This data was obtained through observations, in-depth interviews with key informants, and relevant documentation. The purpose of this approach was to enable the researcher to interpret the collected data comprehensively.

Abstract

Communication is a key element in maintaining harmony between parents and children, as parents are the first teachers of their children. Therefore, parents must set a good example to shape their children's religious character, enabling them to face various negative impacts in the digital era. One of the most commonly used forms of communication in this relationship is interpersonal communication, where interactions occur directly and allow immediate feedback from the other party.  This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation conducted by the researcher. The theoretical framework used in this study is the encoding-decoding theory by Stuart Hall. The results of the study show that the interpersonal communication conducted by parents with their children involves gradually providing understanding and giving concrete examples, making it easier for the child to comprehend. The message is then processed by the child, resulting in diverse responses, which ultimately contribute to the development of a religious character.

Abstract

The concept of reincarnation is often a controversial topic because it raises deep theological debates. Film, as a mass communication medium, has the potential to spread thoughts or beliefs, including reincarnation. One of the films that raises this theme is Along With Gods 2: The Last 49 Days, a production work from South Korea. Seeing the potential negative impact of the concept of reincarnation on Muslims, this study aims to analyse and criticise the concept based on the teachings of Islamic law—qualitative method with Charles Sander Peirce's semiological approach. The data obtained from the film were analysed using Peirce's semiotic theory through the analysis of the concept of trichotomy. The results of the study showed that there were 25 scenes related to reincarnation in the film, of which eight messages of faith and three moral messages were found that contained da'wah values. Criticism of the concept of reincarnation is based on its irrationality and contradiction with Islamic teachings. In Islam, resurrection is believed to occur on Yaumul Ba'ats, the day of resurrection to account for charity, and not in the form of rebirth in the world as depicted in the concept of reincarnation.

Abstract

Important elements are very much needed in completing the creation of advertisements in order to tidy up and make audio more useful and pleasant to listen to. This study aims to find out how to formulate an advertisement editing strategy, how to implement an advertisement editing strategy, and how to evaluate an advertisement editing strategy in developing public services at Radio RSAL FM. This study uses a qualitative methodology derived from an interpretative or subjective approach. This interpretive approach has two variants, namely critical and constructivism. This study departs from a critical approach as with framing analysis in general.
