Abstract

Spent Bleaching Earth (SBE) is one of the largest wastes produced from the crude palm oil (CPO) refining industry. SBE can be converted into carbon for various purpose. Modification of SBE into magnetic carbon/clay composites can improve its performance. Modification SBE into magnetic carbon/clay composites can improve the pore structure and surface of the material. This research aims to synthesize magnetic carbon/clay composites from SBE using the co-prepitation method and apply it to peat water treatment by degradation method. The results obtained from this research, organic compounds in peat water can be degraded as much as 87.1875% within 20 minutes. In addition, the pH of peat water has increases and the intensity of peat water color has been decrease.

Abstract

Palm sugar consumption levels may vary depending on societal habits and individual preferences. Palm sugar is a natural sweetener that comes from sap or water with a brownish color. However, the color of palm sugar varies from light to dark brown. So the aim of this research is to regulate the temperature for making sap sugar to prevent the formation of a brown color in making sugar. The method used in making sap sugar is setting various temperatures, to get a brighter color than the control with the help of spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 420 nm. The results in this study are absorbance data at each temperature, namely 1000C: 0.832 ± 0.023; 900C: 0.821 ± 0.051; 800C: 0.799 ± 0.012; 700C: 0.671 ± 0.027; 600C: 0.621 ± 0.034. Based on statistical analysis at temperatures of 700C and 600C it can significantly reduce the color intensity on spectrophotometer examination. The conclusion is that the appropriate temperature for processing sap sugar to reduce color intensity is 700C and 60 0C.

Abstract

Purun woven crafts are an important economic activity for the people of Purun Village, Palam Village, Banjarbaru City. This study aims to identify factors that influence the income of Purun woven crafts in the context of the Purun Al-Firdaus Woven Crafts Craftsmen Group. The respondents in this study were members of the Purun Al-Firdaus Woven Crafts Craftsman Group who were actively involved in the production and marketing of Purun woven crafts as many as 45 people. The research results show that there are several factors that influence income from purun woven crafts. These factors include: production amount, craftsmen's wages, work experience, and working hours. The results of the research show that the amount of production and craftsmen's wages have a significant effect, while work experience and working hours do not have a significant effect on Purun Al-Firdaus woven craft craftsmen. From the results of the regression carried out, an adjusted R square value of 0.454 was obtained, which means that the factors that influence the income of Purun Al-Firdaus woven craft craftsmen are 45.4% while the remaining 54.6% is explained by other variables.

Abstract

Innovation and modern methods in ceramic production, as a transition from conventional/traditional methods, are needed to improve production efficiency and quality. One innovation in the ceramic industry is the polymer-derived ceramic (PDC) technology with the utilization of organosilicon compounds. PDCs are ceramics derived from preceramic organosilicon polymer precursors, which are generally divided into polysiloxane, polycarbosiloxane, polycarbosilane, polysilycarbodimiides, polysilazane, polyborosilazanes, polyborosilanes, and polyborosiloxanes. The transformation of organosilicon polymers into ceramics is carried out through four stages: shaping, cross-linking, pyrolysis, and ceramization. PDCs have high-temperature resistance properties, making them suitable for various applications in extreme environments. The forms of PDC applications are as semiconductors, sensors, coating/membranes, and fibers.

Abstract

The development of information technology, particularly information systems, is increasingly optimized by users to facilitate the operations of a company. PDAM Tirta Dharma, as a state-owned company engaged in public services, specifically in the provision of drinking water, recognizes the need to utilize an information system to streamline its operations in order to enhance the quality of service to the community. The implementation of a new water connection system is one of the strategies employed by PDAM Tirta Dharma to simplify the process for both individual consumers and installations or companies. As an institution, PDAM Tirta Dharma requires a computerized system to process data and handle new customer services. The ease of registration for potential customers is a crucial aspect that needs attention. Therefore, the development of a new customer information system is essential for PDAM Tirta Dharma. This system is constructed using the PHP programming language and MySQL, which are popular programming languages. It is supported by the Bootstrap framework based on HTML5 and CSS. The existing manual system faced various challenges and issues. This research is expected to assist in streamlining the new customer registration process.

Abstract

Population growth that is not balanced with improvements in the quality of infrastructure in urban areas causes irregularities in spatial and regional planning which have a negative impact on social and environmental conditions. The low level of public awareness of the environment has resulted in flooding problems, disease and impaired sensory perception due to waste. The aim of the design is to design the outdoor landscape as a green open space that can accommodate the activities of flat residents and Sarijadi Village, and educate residents with a garden about integrated waste processing for environmental sustainability. The design method used is synthetic analysis. The main potential is that the design land is located in a densely populated area and the problem is that there is an ecological imbalance in the area. Both are rooted in waste problems related to the daily life of every household in each settlement. Based on site analysis requirements, green open space design can be divided into three main parts; Sarijadi Village environmental park, flat garden as the entrance to Rusunawa Sarijadi RW 5, and outdoor space between the flat building blocks. The utility concept offered is processing household organic waste and culinary areas with a biogas digester into gas energy, electricity for flat and environmental garden activities, and compost for community gardens.

Abstract

In building planning it is very important to pay attention to the foundation structure such as the Patimban Access Toll Road project located in Patimbant, West Java. This study aims to compare the lateral, axial and settlement bearing capacity of spun pile foundations. This research methodology uses ETABS application to calculate the loading. To calculate the bearing capacity of the foundation using manual methods, namely the Mayerhof, Tomlinson, Reese & Wright method compared with Allpile software and PDA test results. In the analysis of the bearing capacity of the spun pile foundation with a diameter of 100 cm calculated manually, a single pile bearing capacity (Qu) of 9501.238 kN was obtained, a single pile allowable bearing capacity (Qall) of 3800.495 kN and a group pile allowable bearing capacity of 68549.05 kN. The lateral bearing capacity of the foundation using the Broms Method on a single free end pile is 23.181 kN while the pinned end pile is 45.216 kN. Analysis of the settlement that occurs due to axial load on the foundation manually obtained a total settlement value of 0.0232 m with the allowable settlement value limit of 0.1 m. The foundation settlement analysis using the PDA Test results obtained 0.02 m and the foundation settlement analysis using the Allpile program is 0.0687 m

Abstract

In the province of South Kalimantan, there is an amazing tourist destination called Batu Hapu Cave, a cave formed by thousands of years of natural processes, decorated with stalactites and stunning rock formations. Apart from its beauty, this cave also has interesting historical and legendary value. However, promotional efforts carried out by the government and local communities through websites and oral stories are still less effective. Therefore, the author designed 2D animation using Motion Graphic techniques as a more attractive and effective promotional media. By utilizing the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, this animation went through several phases, including conceptualization, design, material collection, assembly, testing and distribution. The animation was created using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe After Effects, and using SPSS to determine the results of the animated video. The results of tourist satisfaction with the resulting video reached 86.31%. This shows that the use of 2D animation with motion graphic techniques is effective in attracting the public and increasing tourist interest in Batu Hapu Cave. What must be paid attention to in a promotional video is the promotional message, visual details and animated movements.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to optimize the use of internet network resources by distributing bandwidth fairly and evenly, stabilizing the internet network so that users can download and upload with evenly distributed bandwidth consumption, and avoiding overloading of internet network access usage. In conducting the study, the author collected primary and secondary data needed to implement bandwidth management on the internet network in the lecture building of the Nahdlatul Ulama University of South Kalimantan (Unukase) campus. This study also analyzed the hardware and software needs as supporting tools for implementing bandwidth management in the Unukase Lecture Building. The research that the author uses is NDCL (Network Development Life Cycle) which is a model that defines the process cycle in building an internet network system, NDLC has elements that define phases, stages, steps, or process mechanisms specifically. The test results after implementing bandwidth sharing with PCQ (Per Connection Queue), that all users access download more evenly by getting 5Mbps, and for upload access, all users get almost 5Mbps.

Abstract

Employee attrition is one of the main challenges faced by organizations in retaining competent human resources. This study aims to explore data patterns and predict employee attrition using the Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) approach and Machine Learning algorithms such as Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Naive Bayes. The analysis was conducted on a dataset that includes various factors such as demographics, job satisfaction, and employee performance. The research findings indicate that Logistic Regression achieved an accuracy of 87%, but the model has weaknesses in detecting the positive class (attrition), as reflected by its low recall score. SVM, with an accuracy of 85%, provided high precision for the positive class but performed poorly in detecting actual attrition cases. Conversely, Naive Bayes, with an accuracy of 85%, demonstrated more balanced performance with a higher weighted average F1-score compared to the other models, although there is still room for improvement, particularly in predicting the positive class. Based on the results, Naive Bayes stands out as a more reliable model for predicting employee attrition with more balanced performance compared to Logistic Regression and SVM. To enhance prediction performance, it is recommended to address the class imbalance in the dataset through techniques such as oversampling, undersampling, class weighting, or specialized algorithms.
