Abstract

Digital transformation in education has a significant impact on the dynamics of learning and students' academic expectations. Amidst increasingly tight academic competition and pressure to excel in the digital space, students need to strengthen an adaptive and resilient mentality. This article discusses the strategic role of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers in fostering a growth mindset, the belief that abilities can be developed through effort and learning in high school students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method in three high schools in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that structured counseling interventions, personal support from BK teachers, and the integration of self-development programs into the curriculum can significantly improve students' growth mindset. This article recommends strengthening the capacity of BK teachers in digital literacy and positive psychology as a systematic effort to face the challenges of increasingly complex digital academic competition.

Abstract

Indonesia as a multicultural country faces serious challenges in managing diversity in the educational environment. Multicultural counseling is a key strategy to build cultural awareness, inclusivity, and student character. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of multicultural counseling in increasing cultural awareness, strengthening inclusivity, and supporting student character formation through systematic literature review. The PRISMA method was used in analyzing 948 articles from the Consensus, Semantic Scholar, PubMed, ERIC, and PsycINFO databases, with 50 relevant articles analyzed in depth. The results of the meta-analysis showed that multicultural counseling had a significant impact on cultural awareness (d = 0.78), inclusivity (d = 0.65), and tolerance (d = 0.71), with key success factors including counselor competence, school systemic support, and program duration. This research confirms the novelty in the form of a comprehensive evidence-based synthesis in the context of Indonesian education, while affirming its global relevance to the SDGs 4 agenda on inclusive education. Thus, multicultural counseling is not only theoretically important but also practical in realizing equitable, equitable, and socially equitable education

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency remains a pressing social issue that negatively impacts communities and national development. Family counseling has emerged as a crucial intervention strategy to reduce delinquent behaviors and strengthen family functioning. This study employs a systematic review of empirical research published between 2020 and 2024, analyzing 50 relevant studies on family-based interventions such as Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and Multisystemic Therapy (MST). Findings consistently show that family counseling effectively reduces juvenile delinquency and recidivism rates, although the magnitude of impact varies depending on implementation quality, cultural context, and participant characteristics. Intensive interventions with strong family engagement are associated with the most significant improvements in youth behavior and family cohesion. This study highlights the importance of integrating family counseling into prevention and rehabilitation programs, particularly in contexts where family structures play a central role in adolescent development. Future research should focus on longitudinal outcomes and cross-cultural adaptations to optimize effectiveness

Abstract

Academic procrastination is one of the most prevalent behavioral issues affecting students’ academic achievement and psychological well-being. The voluntary delay of tasks despite anticipating negative consequences is associated with reduced academic performance, heightened stress, and decreased self-regulation. Addressing this challenge requires effective interventions grounded in empirical evidence. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in reducing academic procrastination among students by synthesizing findings from experimental research, comparative studies, and literature reviews published between 2020 and 2025. Using a systematic literature review approach, data were retrieved from databases such as Consensus, Semantic Scholar, PubMed, and Google Scholar. The analysis included randomized controlled trials, quasi-experimental studies, and narrative reviews focusing on CBT, as well as comparative studies involving Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Twelve eligible articles were selected after rigorous screening, data extraction, and synthesis. Findings indicate that CBT consistently reduces procrastination behaviors across diverse educational settings, with both face-to-face and online formats demonstrating significant and lasting effects for two to four months. Comparisons reveal that ACT offers longer-term sustainability, while MBCT enhances positive academic emotions and optimism. Bibliometric trends show CBT’s dominance in scholarly attention between 2020 and 2025. These results underscore CBT’s role as a primary evidence-based intervention for reducing academic procrastination, while also highlighting the potential benefits of integrating CBT with ACT and MBCT. Practical implications include the adoption of hybrid counseling programs in schools and universities, supported by digital delivery systems to increase accessibility and long-term effectiveness

Abstract

Students' psychological well-being is an important aspect in supporting academic success and personal development. Counselors in universities play a strategic role in helping students overcome psychological challenges, such as stress, anxiety, and burnout, while building resilience, motivation to learn, and healthy social relationships. This study aims to examine the role of counselors in improving the psychological well-being of students and examine the implications of digital counseling services in the modern era. This article uses a narrative approach based on a literature review, highlighting different forms of counseling services, including individual counseling, group counseling, psychoeducation, career counseling, and crisis support. The results of the study showed that each counselor service had a significant positive impact, including improving emotion regulation, reducing stress, increasing academic motivation, and creating a more supportive social environment. In addition, digital service innovations, such as e-counseling and technology-based applications, have been proven to be able to expand access and increase the effectiveness of psychological support for students. The discussion emphasized that optimizing the role of counselors requires campus policy support, continuous training, and technology integration by paying attention to data security and privacy aspects. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of strengthening digital-based counseling services to answer new challenges in supporting students' mental health in a sustainable manner

Abstract

This study examines the role of counselors in building students' social awareness so that they are not easily provoked by demonstration situations. The background of this study departs from the phenomenon of student demonstrations which often shift from a forum for expressing aspirations to a place for provocation and destructive actions. Using a literature review approach, this study highlights the contribution of counselors through individual, group, psychoeducation, and cross-party collaboration counseling services. The results of the study show that counselors have a central role in fostering empathy, solidarity, self-control, and critical thinking in students, which serve as a filter against mass provocations. Effective counselor strategies include open communication, peer counseling, and character education and social-emotional skills programs. However, there are still obstacles in the form of limited resources, lack of policy support, and student resistance to counseling interventions. Therefore, strengthening counselor capacity, institutional policy support, and integrating technology-based strategies are key to increasing the effectiveness of counseling services. This article emphasizes the urgency of optimizing the role of counselors in building students' social awareness, in order to create an educational environment that is safer, more inclusive, and resilient to provocation
