Abstract

We propose a proof of concept that uses state-of-the-art cloud-computing technologies to lay those basic functionalities that we have envisioned as our solution. One of our objectives is to test available NLP and cloud platforms. We follow a case-study approach to the research, in which the prototype is tested in different scenarios, including short and long conversations, and the results are examined and discussed. In more detail, we involve nine speakers, with different accents and speaking styles, in 85 scripts and 3 real-life conversations. Results are promising, with good accuracies for short conversations and limitations due to the lack of domain-specific knowledge bases applicable to the call-centre work. Call centre assistance is one of the many domains of activity that Artificial Intelligence could enable. Enter Customer Recommended Interaction Software (CRIS). The idea of a virtual agent that can offer assistance during a live call or troubleshooting procedure has great potential. It can be used to unlock a great extent of advantages. The virtual agent presents a dashboard to the employee, with relevant facts about the conversation presented in real-time. The dashboard contains elements such as call-category based on detected keywords and sentiment analysis.

Abstract

This research is motivated by observations and experiences of the researchers that a motorcyclist wants comfort while driving, but on a motorcycle, there can be many factors that cause problems. For example, experiencing a lack of air pressure on tyres (deflated) or a flat tyre becomes a serious problem when driving on a quiet road so that the driver feels disturbed. It is necessary to make a tool that can be used to pump tyres easily and efficiently. In making and designing tools, product specification design methods were used, ranging from task translation to detailed design. The Product Design Specification (PDS) method focuses on the criteria for being achieved in ideas and concepts. The value of pressure from the theoretical calculation is different from the calculation of the tool; the results of the theoretical calculation of the tool obtained air pressure of 38.8 Psi, while the tool testing can directly reach a pressure of 30 Psi. Although figure 30 Psi has been able to fill the front and rear tyres of a motorcycle, the difference in numbers is certainly caused by observable factors. With a variety of factors that affect the performance of the tool but still can meet enough criteria to be able to pump motorcycle tyres and also the design of this tool is made for use in emergency conditions, so that when a motorcycle experiences a flat tyre and the condition is not in the immediate vicinity with a tyre pump workshop, the tool can be used.

Abstract

KIT Physics Navigation, a self-adaptive e-learning website of physics covering study contents for high school and university students, was published on the web in March 2016. It was built on the concept that “one web page should contain one topic”. For the first time, the access log analysis was performed on this website by examining how visitors browsed the webpages and deepened their understandings. It is noted that this analysis was carried out by using only the access logs acquired from the visitors who had browsed a webpage entitled “Uniformly accelerated linear motion” at least one time to extract the browsing path of the visitors who had an interest in the topic of the webpage. As a result, it was found that most of the visitors deepened their understandings of physics in stages by browsing from the web pages about fundamental topics to those about advanced topics. Furthermore, cluster analysis, which is widely known as the unsupervised learning method of machine learning, was performed on this website. Here, Ward’s Method was applied, and the variables were the number of visits and the visit duration. The result showed that the web pages about the following topics, “Derivation of uniformly accelerated linear motion from graph” and “Derivation of uniformly accelerated linear motion by using integration”, was classified as the group which had a large number of visits and long visit duration by the dendrogram. In the future, the websites need further improvements based on the results of these analyses.

Abstract

This paper proposes a new function, which changes fonts by selecting visual expressions of emotions. We have used different fonts for emotional expressions when creating documents. We know that emotional expressiveness can be improved spectacularly by using different fonts. Therefore, we developed a front-end application with a font adjustment function for SNS, premised on using plain texts. If the user selects an illustration of a certain emotion that he or she wants to add to the texts, the “font” of the text will be changed into the one that fits the selected emotion. Normally, the images are selected by typing characters. However, this application can change the characters of the texts based on the selected images and realize more intuitive character expression. Today, when creating some documents, considering fonts is a usual practice. It is clear that fonts give texts emotional meanings. By using this application, the emotional meaning provided by the font can be added to the characters. In short, the characters become the texts that can reach another person more accurately. It is possible to express a wide variety of emotions, and more smooth communication by texts can be expected. We propose the app that the user can attach their emotion to the text by font change function. This app will be expected to give us smooth communication by texts.

Abstract

This article aims to focus on applying ICT to training in medical schools. We propose a method — using wearable smart glasses — for supporting training in giving medical interviews. Applying this method, the trainer monitors the trainees via a network and sends instructions to individual trainees. Accordingly, it supports the trainer in a manner that eases their burden. Moreover, the trainees can check their current statuses on the display of the smart glasses and get efficient feedback immediately from the trainer As part of medical care, the process of asking patients detailed questions about their symptoms — namely, a medical interview to diagnose a medical problem exactly or to determine the kind of examination of symptoms — is very important. Giving a medical interview successfully depends on the experience of the interviewer. A clinician with a lot of experience can extract the necessary information from outpatients. In response to this state of affairs, clinical lectures have lately been focused on. Especially, training in giving medical interviews has become one of the most important items on the curriculum. This training should be repeated by students so that they can master the technical skill of asking medical interview questions.

Abstract

The study objective is to propose a new web service search system that exploits the information structure of OWLS documents which consists of information from service history class, service model class, and basic service class. This information is used to construct indexes and their individual weights, which are used to compare the level of similarity between a semantic query from a user and each web service by a vector space model. Then, the result is used in a web service selection procedure based on formal concept analysis. A web service is selected through the structure of a concept lattice of Qos consisting of service availability and response time. Experimental results show that this proposed system provided an average accuracy of 71.9%. Moreover, it can provide alternative web services that are closely related to the query for the user to have flexibility in utilizing the search results.
