Journal of Community Development and Empowerment (JOCDEM) is a journal that is a scientific forum for community service, published by Lembaga Publikasi Ilmiah Nusantara. This multidisciplinary scientific journal in the field of community service with the aim of publishing the results of community service activities related to the development and application of science and technology research results, which include concepts, models and its implementation as an effort to increase community participation in development. Abstract

Residential area management is a strategic effort to improve the quality of life and support sustainable development. However, preparing an effective and efficient Detail Engineering Design (DED) requires adequate technical capacity. This study aims to enhance the capacity for preparing DEDs for residential area management in Gunungsari Subdistrict. The research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and document studies. The results indicate that improving technical capacity through training and mentoring in DED preparation is crucial for enhancing design quality, budget efficiency, and development sustainability. Furthermore, collaboration among local governments, communities, and other stakeholders plays a vital role in the successful preparation of DEDs. This study is expected to contribute to better planning and implementation of residential area management in Gunungsari Subdistrict, emphasizing community engagement and data-driven planning principles.

Abstract

National Santri Day is an important moment to commemorate the role of santri (Islamic boarding school students) in preserving and developing religious, cultural, and national values. One way to strengthen the character of santri is through activities that support the formation of good personality traits, one of which is theater arts. This study aims to explore the role of theater arts in shaping and honing the character of santri, with a focus on the implementation of theater training during National Santri Day celebrations. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study of several pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) that conducted theater training during National Santri Day. Data were collected through observations, interviews with participants and pesantren administrators, and documentation studies. The findings reveal that theater arts can serve as an effective medium for developing santri character traits such as discipline, teamwork, self-confidence, empathy, and courage. Through role-playing, improvisation, and self-expression, santri gain a deeper understanding of the values taught in pesantren and apply them in their daily lives. Furthermore, theater arts activities provide opportunities for santri to explore their talents and potential, ultimately enriching their spiritual and social experiences. This study concludes that theater training is a strategic effort to strengthen the character of santri in the modern era and can serve as an alternative character education activity that is both enjoyable and beneficial.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology in today's digital era has significantly impacted the younger generation, one of which is online gaming addiction. This addiction can diminish the physical, social, and mental quality of young people, as well as disrupt their daily activities. In addressing this issue, soccer emerges as an effective alternative solution to reduce online gaming addiction. This study aims to explore the importance of soccer as a means to enhance physical activity, build social skills, and provide positive stimulation for the emotional development of young people. Through an approach involving observations and interviews with coaches, young players, and parents, this research finds that soccer can provide a healthy environment, improve social interaction, and foster a spirit of sportsmanship that helps divert teenagers' attention away from online gaming addiction. The results of this study are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the benefits of sports, particularly soccer, in shaping character and improving the well-being of the younger generation amid the dominance of digital technology.

Abstract

Efficient business management and accurate calculation of the cost of goods sold are crucial elements in maximizing company profits. This study aims to analyze effective business management strategies and approaches to determining the cost of goods sold as strategic steps to enhance profitability. The research method employed is a quantitative approach, involving the analysis of the company's financial data and interviews with business practitioners to identify factors affecting operational efficiency and the accuracy of production cost calculations. The study results indicate that resource management efficiency, production cost control, and the application of appropriate cost calculation methods, such as the full costing or activity-based costing methods, can significantly improve profit margins. Furthermore, the implementation of product diversification strategies and optimal supply chain management contributes to reducing operational costs and increasing market competitiveness. This study concludes that success in maximizing profits depends not only on sales volume but also on effective business management and accurate cost of goods sold calculations. Recommendations from this study include improving managerial competencies, developing supporting technologies for cost calculations, and periodically evaluating the company's operational performance.

Abstract

Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of community service conducted by university students to contribute directly to village development. This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by KKN students to improve the welfare of local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sesela Gunungsari Village. Using a participatory approach, KKN students identified the potentials and challenges faced by local MSMEs and designed empowerment programs that included managerial training, digital marketing, and product quality enhancement. The results showed that the strategies implemented by KKN students were effective in improving MSME management capacity, expanding market access, and motivating MSME actors to develop their businesses more professionally. Moreover, the sustainability of the KKN program has proven to have a positive impact on increasing the income and quality of life of the Sesela Gunungsari Village community. This study is expected to serve as a reference for developing more targeted and sustainable KKN programs to support MSME development in other villages.
