Abstract

OOPA Sweet Nuts, a Batam MSME, faces obstacles entering modern retail due to packaging and visual identity limitations, specifically lacking essential product information and an optimized logo. This research aims to rebrand the product through a visual identity and packaging refresh, creating a more structured and attractive communication medium. Utilizing the ADDIE model and a Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach, the design process involved digitizing the logo into a vector format, developing a circular badge system, and redesigning the stand-up pouch layout using a grid system with a transparent window. The design was evaluated through media expert validation for feasibility, alongside User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with 30 respondents to measure acceptance. The research yielded a standardized, functional packaging and visual identity ready for printing. This redesign strengthens the packaging's communicative function, increasing brand competitiveness and awareness. Future research should test the design's market effectiveness regarding consumer purchase intention and explore applications in digital promotional media.

Abstract

This research addresses long customer queues and manual order-recording errors at Cafe Sudut 270 Street Coffee. To solve these issues, the study designs a menu ordering system focused on an adaptive and user-friendly interface. The design process applies the User-Centered Design (UCD) approach to match actual user needs. Initial data collection relied on in-depth interviews and direct field observations. Then, a high-fidelity prototype was built using Figma. Two methods evaluated the success of the system. First, customers completed the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire, which yielded an average score of 76.9 in the "Good" category. This score proves that the interface is highly user-friendly. Second, the cafe management assessed operational aspects using a Likert scale, resulting in an 87.5% rating in the "Highly Feasible" criteria. In conclusion, the system successfully cuts waiting times and minimizes ordering errors through transparent menu customization features.

Abstract

A small-scale Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) hydroponic system requires continuous monitoring because it strongly depends on nutrient solution flow, water availability, and the stability of operational parameters. Manual monitoring is often less effective because system disturbances may be detected too late by users. This study aims to design, implement, and test an Internet of Things (IoT)-based NFT hydroponic monitoring and automatic nutrient dosing system prototype capable of displaying data, storing monitoring history, providing warnings during abnormal conditions, and automatically dosing nutrient solution based on sensor readings. The method used is prototyping. The prototype integrates an NFT hydroponic system, IoT devices, Firebase, a web dashboard, Telegram notifications, an automatic nutrient dosing system, and supporting actuators. Test results show that the system is able to read and transmit monitoring data, display information on the dashboard, store historical data, and classify system conditions into normal, warning, and critical statuses based on predetermined thresholds. The system also successfully provides warnings through the dashboard, Telegram, and a local alarm when abnormal conditions are detected. The automatic nutrient dosing system, implemented using two G328 peristaltic pumps controlled via PID-based logic in response to TDS sensor readings, was successfully integrated and functioned as intended.

Abstract

The submission and evaluation of final project proposals constitute a vital administrative stage in higher education. At Universitas Universal, this process previously relied on semi-manual methods via Google Drive and spreadsheets, which led to data privacy vulnerabilities, examiner evaluation bias, and inefficient data recapitulation. To address these challenges, this study developed a centralized, web-based proposal submission and monitoring information system. Built using Laravel and MySQL databases, the software development process was managed through the Agile Scrum framework across four Sprints. The system incorporates Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to enforce multi-tenant document security, an asynchronous similarity check using a recursive common substring match to prevent title duplication, and an independent grading module using digital rubrics to ensure objectivity. Software quality evaluations demonstrated high reliability: functional black-box testing achieved a 100% success rate, PHPUnit testing (183 test cases, 611 assertions) passed without errors, and white-box testing showed an overall statement code coverage of 76.9% (exceeding 87% in critical business logic and database model layers). The system successfully digitizes, secures, and standardizes the academic proposal workflow. Abstract

Search and rescue (SAR) operations often require access to areas that are hazardous or unreachable for human rescuers. This study developed ArachnoSAR, a low-cost four-legged (quadruped) spider robot prototype that integrates legged locomotion, camera-based human detection, and automatic notification. The robot is driven by eight SG90 servo motors controlled by an ESP32, while a Raspberry Pi processes the camera stream using a Haar Cascade classifier and sends detection photographs to a Telegram bot, accompanied by a buzzer alert. Preliminary indoor testing showed that the system detected frontal faces at distances of up to 300 cm at 12 to 17 frames per second, while locomotion tests recorded speeds of 0.55 cm/s on ceramic and 1.36 cm/s on asphalt surfaces, with an estimated operating time of about 51 minutes. Identified limitations include the requirement for frontal face orientation, sensitivity to low lighting, motion blur, and dependence on internet connectivity for notification. These results indicate that the prototype is feasible as a proof of concept, while highlighting the need for image stabilization, deep learning based detection, and offline communication for real SAR deployment.

Abstract

Sleep disorders significantly impact individuals' quality of life and chronic health. Previous research utilizing the Sleep Health and Lifestyle Dataset predominantly focused on Classification tasks—predicting discrete diagnostic categories such as Insomnia or Sleep Apnea. Although classification accuracy has been high, this method fails to provide a continuous, quantitative assessment of the severity of Quality of Sleep (QOS). This study aims to address this limitation by developing and interpreting a Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) model to predict the numeric Quality of Sleep (QOS) score on a 1-10 scale based on lifestyle, demographic, and biometric factors. The MLR model was applied following pre-processing, which included One-Hot Encoding for categorical variables and the removal of diagnostic variables to prevent data leakage. Evaluation results demonstrate that the model achieved excellent performance, confirmed by a high Coefficient of Determination (R2) of 0.957 and a very low Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 0.145 units. Quantitative analysis of the regression coefficients identified Sleep Duration as the most dominant positive predictor and Stress Level as the most significant negative predictor of QOS. These findings provide an important contribution in the form of an interpretable mathematical equation, which can be utilized by clinicians to make measurable, evidence-based intervention recommendations, shifting the focus from diagnosis to quantitative management and prevention.

Abstract

Stroke is a leading cause of death and permanent disability in Indonesia, where prevalence rose from 8.3 per 1,000 population in 2013 to 10.9 per 1,000 in 2018, creating an urgent need for accurate early detection. This study develops and compares stroke risk prediction models based on Naive Bayes (NB) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), each integrated with the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) to handle class imbalance. The dataset consists of 512 medical records from a hospital in Batam collected between 2020 and 2023, covering 12 demographic, clinical, and lifestyle predictors. SMOTE was applied only to the training data of an 80 to 20 split, yielding a balanced distribution of 258 samples per class. The KNN parameter K was tuned over eight odd values and 7 was found optimal. Evaluation on 103 test records shows that KNN consistently outperforms Naive Bayes, with accuracy of 91.3 against 81.6 percent, F1-Score of 89.2 against 79.9 percent, and AUC of 0.934 against 0.862. SMOTE raised recall of the Stroke class by 18.8 percentage points. Blood glucose, age, and systolic blood pressure were the three strongest predictors. The model is proposed as an Early Warning System module for hospital information systems.

Abstract

Cooperatives require integrated information systems to improve operational efficiency, financial transparency, and service quality in response to ongoing digital transformation. However, many cooperative accounting systems are still developed without a systematic requirements engineering approach, resulting in fragmented business processes and limited integration among organizational services. This study aims to design a web-based cooperative accounting management system for KPRI Bina Cipta by applying the Viewpoint-Oriented Requirements Definition (VORD) approach to systematically identify stakeholder requirements. A case study methodology was employed through interviews, direct observations, and literature review. System requirements were analyzed using VORD, followed by system modeling with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and implementation using PHP, CodeIgniter, and MySQL. Functional verification was conducted through black-box and white-box testing. The proposed system integrates member administration, savings and loan management, merchandise transactions, payment confirmation, and financial reporting within a single web-based platform. The VORD approach enabled the identification of stakeholder-specific requirements, resulting in a more structured system design, improved data integration, enhanced transaction traceability, and greater accessibility of financial information for cooperative members. This study contributes to the implementation of requirements engineering in cooperative information system development and provides a digital solution that supports sustainable digital transformation and governance within community-based financial organizations.
