Abstract

The article presents the study’s results on the consolidation and afforestation of dune sands underlain by saline soil in Turtkul forestry enterprise desert zone of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm forestry enterprise. Experimental work was carried out to consolidate and afforestation the windward dune slopes by installing mechanical protection from reed with planting along them seedlings of black saxaul, Paletsky cherkez. The main goal of the work was to flatten the upper unsecured part of the dune, sand the salt marsh in order to create protective forest cultures from psammophyte shrubs on them

Abstract

The functional state of the nasal mucosa in patients was assessed by the time of MTS using visual (methylene blue) indicators according to the method of S.Z. Piskunov et al. 75 patients with various pathologies and brain injuries in serious condition were examined. The patients were divided into groups: 1st group is patients with severe TBI; 2nd patients with TBI and nasogastric tube (NGZ); 3rd patients with severe TBI and nasotracheal intubation (NTI); and the 4th group with TBI and orotracheal intubation (OTI) and the control group, these are patients in the intensive care unit without TBI. We found that when NTI and NGZ are in the nasal cavity for more than 4-5 days, there is a risk of nosocomal sinusitis. This alarms us to take preventive measures to prevent nosocomial sinusitis from the first day after hospitalization of the patient

Abstract

The study identified the perception of educational technology lecturers on appropriate e-Learning technologies for mitigating the transmission of COVID-19 pandemic in Universities in North-Central, Nigeria. The research design used for this study was a descriptive survey research design, specifically, using cross-sectional study. The population of the study was all the 82 educational technology lecturers consisting of 55 males and 27 females from the nine Universities offering educational technology in North-Central, Nigeria. Total population sampling technique was used to select the whole population of the study. The instruments used for data collection was a structured questionnaire. Cronbach Alpha statistical method was used to determine the reliability indices of the instrument and found to be .89 and .90 respectively. The study employed the use of mean to answer the research questions and Analysis of Variance to test the null hypotheses. Findings from the study revealed among others that Zoom, Google Classroom, WhatsApp, YouTube, Telegram, EdX and Open edX, Udemy and LinkedIn Learning (Lynda) were appropriate e-Learning platforms for mitigating the transmission of COVID-19 pandemic in Universities in North-Central, Nigeria. The study recommended that, lecturers should adopt the used of the identified e-Learning platforms and contents delivery modes for mitigating the transmission of COVID-19 pandemic in Universities in North-Central, Nigeria.
