Abstract

The study was carried out to examine the perception of drug use as a correlate of human immune deficiency infection among the students of University of Uyo. Three research questions and three hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A cross sectional survey design was used. Balloting and simple random sampling technique was used to draw 500 respondents representing the student population of 17,000. A self-developed questionnaire was used for data collection. Mean analysis was used to test the hypotheses. The mean analysis showed increased weight mean scores than the average rating point of 2.50. This indicated that there is actual perception of drug use as a correlate of human immune deficiency infections among the students. The null hypotheses tested showed increased calculated t-value with lesser critical t-value at degree of freedom of 4.98 and .05 alpha level. The null hypotheses were rejected. Based on the findings, it was recommended that seminars, rallies, and workshops be organized to enlighten the students on drug use and HIV/AIDs. School based drug education programmes for the youths in school and appropriate out-of –school based drug education programme should be instituted for the youths. Strengthening and adoption of youth related reproductive health programmes in higher institutions should be established. There should be involvement of governmental and non-governmental organization in fighting against HIV infection. The government should make an unbiased national drug policy for the country against the use and sell of Indian hemp and cigarettes

Abstract

The big water bodies covering about 4.3 metres hectare of inland water and 480 km of coastline give very high potential for fisheries and aquaculture production, the subtropical climate and adequate soil and aquatic conditions. Despite this, the development of fish remained very poor and stagnant until 1985. Owing to a lack of funding for science, the few development projects introduced at the time did not achieve the desired results. Consequently , the second and third five year plans did not meet the production goals stated. On the other hand, in 1984 the FRI was developed and improved aquaculture and management practises were subsequently produced, and a positive contribution was made to almost reaching the production target of 1.2 m tonnes, in 1994-95, the final year of the Fourth Five Year Plan. The aquaculture sector in India is a rapidly growing, more than 7 per cent, fish farming sector annually. About 95% of total annual aquaculture production of 5.77 million tonnes is supported by Freshwater Aquaculture. The three main Indian carps (CatlaCatla, Labeorohita and Cirrhinusmrigala) and their "composite carp culture" technologies have brought substantial upward shifts in freshwater development with the inclusion of the exotic three carp (Hypophthalmichthysmolitrix, Ctenopharyngodonidella, Cyprinus carpio) in ponds and tanks. Late in the day, diversification took place by the introduction of medium and minor carps, catfish and murrels.

In India, educational institutions (schools, colleges and universities) are presently focused primarily on formal learning strategies, that is, adopting the traditional framework of face-to - face traditional classrooms. To determine the effect of the COVID-19 lockdown on bachelor's degree learners with different Indian colleges and universities. During that same pandemic, students from rural regions and marginalized areas primarily face immense technical challenges. Therefore, the analysis of these phenomena in the population of India is significant. This paper illustrates the effects of the middle flu outbreak on the Indian education sector and also points to some fruitful recommendations for carrying out educational activities during the pandemic situation. In addition, the role of teachers and the access to infrastructure for online education are identified. Qualitative methodology is a technique used for this study. This research involved the study of foreign and national publications, correspondence with the library, professional opinion, journal articles, newsletters, and records.

Abstract

The study examined the impact of teaching methods on Teaching Effectiveness and Pupils’ skills acquisition in Home Economics in Upper Basic Classes in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. A comparative survey design was adopted for the study. Purposive sampling technique was used to identify the schools that actively teach and practice Home Economics, while one hundred and Eighty-Four (184) teachers (110 Females, 74 Males) were used as respondents in the study, selected through stratified sampling technique. A 15-item Questionnaire tagged: “Teaching Effectiveness for Skills Acquisition in Home Economics Questionnaire (TESAHEQ)”, was used for data collection in the study, arranged in a 4-point Likert Scale of Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Disagree (D) and Strongly Disagree (SD). The questionnaire was validated by one (1) experts in test and measurement and one (1) expert in home economics. Test-retest reliability index was used to ascertain the reliability of the Questionnaire and it produced a reliability coefficient of 0.88, proving the instrument reliable enough for use in the study. Two research questions and 2 hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Descriptive statistics of mean was used to answer the research questions. Independent T-test was used to test the hypothesis formulated at 0.05 level of significance. The findings in the study revealed that learner-centered methods of teaching such as discussion, guided-demonstration, role-play, and dramatization method are highly effective in facilitating skills acquisition in pupils than teacher-centered method of teaching such as descriptive, lecture, demonstration/flipped classroom method. The result also proved a significant impact of Teaching Effectiveness on Pupils’ Skills Acquisition in Home Economics in Upper Basic Classes based on gender of the pupils. Based on the study, it was recommended among others that workshops, seminars and other modes of training be given to teachers to update their teaching skills for higher teaching effectiveness.

Abstract

International law is an authoritative legal system that is recognized and followed by states around the world. The preamble to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan also strengthens the recognition of the primacy of international law and its universally recognized principles. This means that the Republic of Uzbekistan firmly declares that the principles and rules of international law take precedence over the national law of the country. Therefore, a thorough study and knowledge of international law is the primary task of lawyers and specialists in all fields of social sciences. The emergence of our independent state in the international arena and its full participation in international relations requires a thorough study of the relevant international legal institutions and criteria. In recent years, the role of international law as a means of fair regulation of international relations has been growing worldwide

It is no secret that today some teachers of the public education system of Uzbekistan are not able to work freely and independently with modern information technology. Public online open courses are just as relevant for today’s educators as they can independently develop their knowledge without being separated from work. In order to study in such courses, it is necessary to guide them properly and develop their skills.
