Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health challenge, driven by a complex interaction of environmental and behavioral factors. This study examines how air pollution, poor sanitation, and urban overcrowding contribute to TB prevalence, alongside behavioral determinants such as smoking and treatment adherence. A systematic review was conducted, analyzing peer-reviewed studies from databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. The findings indicate that fine particulate matter (PM2.5), biomass fuel use, and inadequate ventilation significantly increase TB risk, while smoking and stigma-related delays in treatment further exacerbate transmission. Socioeconomic inequalities were also found to play a critical role in limiting healthcare access for vulnerable populations. Mitigation strategies should include stricter air quality regulations, improved housing infrastructure, and expanded public health education programs to encourage early diagnosis and adherence to treatment. Successful TB control models from countries like Brazil demonstrate the effectiveness of integrating community engagement with robust healthcare policies. Future research should explore the intersection of TB with climate change and antimicrobial resistance to develop long-term, sustainable solutions. Addressing TB requires a multidisciplinary approach, combining environmental policies, public health initiatives, and community-driven interventions to reduce global incidence rates.

Abstract

Health insurance plays a crucial role in improving healthcare accessibility, particularly for vulnerable populations. This study systematically reviews the impact of health insurance on service utilization, affordability, and health outcomes across different countries. A comprehensive literature search was conducted using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, with predefined keywords and systematic inclusion criteria. The findings reveal that insurance coverage significantly enhances healthcare utilization and reduces financial barriers, yet disparities persist, particularly among low income and informal sector workers. Countries with mixed public private financing models tend to achieve better health equity and sustainability. Additionally, community based health insurance and digital innovations have shown promise in increasing participation and service efficiency. However, barriers such as policy fragmentation, limited infrastructure, and low public awareness hinder progress toward Universal Health Coverage. To address these challenges, policymakers must adopt inclusive financing strategies, strengthen public awareness campaigns, and invest in digital healthcare solutions. Future research should focus on evaluating the long term impact of these interventions to optimize health insurance models for broader accessibility and efficiency.

Abstract

Public perceptions of herbal and chemical medicine differ significantly between urban and rural populations, influenced by cultural traditions, education levels, economic status, and access to healthcare services. This study aims to analyze these differing perceptions and their implications for public health and regulatory policies. A systematic literature review was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, targeting peer-reviewed studies published in the past decade. The findings indicate that urban populations generally prefer pharmaceutical drugs due to their regulatory oversight and clinical validation, whereas rural communities rely more on herbal medicine due to affordability, accessibility, and cultural heritage. Regulatory challenges and inconsistent labeling standards have emerged as critical issues affecting public confidence in herbal medicine. Furthermore, healthcare professionals often lack sufficient knowledge of herbal medicine, limiting their ability to guide patients effectively. These disparities underscore the need for enhanced regulation, public education, and professional training in herbal medicine. The study recommends comprehensive policy interventions, including standardized clinical testing for herbal treatments and increased healthcare access in rural areas. Future research should focus on bridging the divide between traditional and modern medicine through integrative healthcare strategies. Strengthening regulatory frameworks and promoting education will be crucial in ensuring safe and informed medical choices.

Abstract

Occupational stress among healthcare workers has become an urgent global concern, exacerbated by increased workloads, insufficient institutional support, and poor working conditions. This study aims to examine the primary stressors affecting medical professionals and evaluate existing interventions. A systematic review of peer reviewed literature from PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and Cochrane Library was conducted, focusing on studies published between 2019 and 2024. Inclusion criteria encompassed empirical research on healthcare worker stress, while non English, non peer reviewed, and non empirical studies were excluded. The findings indicate that excessive workload, lack of workplace support, and emotional distress are major contributors to stress. High intensity settings such as intensive care units (ICUs) exhibit greater stress levels than primary care facilities. Healthcare workers in low resource environments experience disproportionately higher stress due to limited infrastructure and inadequate psychological support. Effective coping mechanisms include peer support, humor, and institutional interventions such as Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). Digital mental health solutions and policy driven interventions have proven beneficial in reducing occupational stress. The study concludes that structured institutional support, mental health training, and flexible work policies are essential in mitigating stress among healthcare professionals. Further research should explore long term stress impacts and evaluate innovative interventions to improve workforce resilience and patient care quality.

Abstract

Malaria remains a major public health concern in many regions, despite global efforts toward its elimination. This study systematically reviews malaria elimination strategies, emphasizing the role of surveillance, vector control, and community based interventions. Using a comprehensive literature review, data from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science were analyzed to assess epidemiological trends, intervention effectiveness, and persisting challenges. Findings indicate that active surveillance programs and integrated vector control measures have significantly contributed to malaria reduction in countries such as China, El Salvador, and Rwanda. However, human mobility, climate variability, and drug resistance continue to pose challenges, particularly in malaria endemic regions. To address these barriers, the study underscores the necessity of strengthening health systems, enhancing cross border collaborations, and leveraging emerging technologies for real time disease monitoring. Policymakers must tailor interventions based on regional epidemiological patterns and promote greater community engagement in malaria control efforts. Future research should focus on refining stratification models, assessing novel vector control strategies, and examining the long term sustainability of malaria elimination initiatives. By implementing targeted, evidence based approaches, malaria elimination can be accelerated, bringing the world closer to the goal of eradication.

Abstract

Adolescent mental health literacy (MHL) is essential for fostering awareness, reducing stigma, and improving help-seeking behaviors. This study explores the barriers and facilitators of MHL among adolescents in Palu, Indonesia, through a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data were collected via in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and participant observations, analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings reveal that while adolescents recognize mental health as an important aspect of well-being, their knowledge is largely shaped by social media, often leading to misinformation. Structural barriers, including the lack of mental health education in schools and limited access to professional services, exacerbate this issue. Cultural and familial stigmas further discourage open discussions and professional help-seeking. Adolescents primarily seek support from peers rather than professionals due to fear of judgment. To enhance MHL, interventions must integrate school-based education, peer support networks, and digital campaigns promoting evidence-based information. Community-based approaches, including parental education and stigma reduction initiatives, are also necessary. This study contributes to existing literature by providing culturally specific insights into adolescent MHL and suggesting targeted intervention strategies. Future research should focus on evaluating intervention effectiveness in diverse socio-cultural contexts.
