Abstract

Stimulation of children's growth and development includes fine motor development, gross motor skills, speech and language development, and independence. The toddler age is the right time to optimize children's development. For children's development to be optimal, the basic needs of children for growth and development must be met first. Various problems in child development, such as motor delays, language, and behavior. Children who receive directed stimulation will develop faster than children who receive less stimulation or no stimulation at all. The purpose of the research was to determine the relationship between stimulation of maternal knowledge, stimulation of maternal attitudes, and maternal family support with stimulatory behavior. The research design used a cross-sectional approach. The research location in Pondok Udik Village involved 67 respondents using purposive sampling techniques. The statistical test obtained a value of ρ 0.020 <α = 0.05 meaning that there is a relationship between the stimulation of the mother's knowledge and stimulatory behavior, the value of ρ 0.030 <α = 0.05 means that there is a relationship between the stimulation of the mother's attitude and the results of the statistical test obtained a value of ρ 0.017 < α = 0.05 meaning that there is a relationship between the mother's family support and stimulatory behavior. The study's results showed a relationship between family knowledge, attitudes, and support and stimulatory behaviors carried out by mothers. There is a need for community-based interventions such as regular education, parenting training, and mothers' group support to increase the capacity of families to provide appropriate and sustainable development stimulation to children.

Abstract

The postpartum period is a critical phase in a mother's recovery following childbirth, during which breast milk (ASI) production plays a vital role in successful breastfeeding. Breast care is a non-pharmacological intervention believed to enhance milk production by stimulating the hormone oxytocin. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of breast care on breast milk volume among postpartum mothers at Mokopido Regional General Hospital in Tolitoli. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group approach, involving 60 respondents divided into two groups: an intervention group (receiving breast massage) and a control group (without breast massage). Breast milk production was measured on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th postpartum days using an electric breast pump and a precision digital scale. The results showed a significant increase in milk production in the intervention group compared to the control group, with the average volume on the 5th day reaching 185 ml in the intervention group and 115 ml in the control group (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that breast care is effective in enhancing breast milk production. It is recommended that this technique be integrated into standard postpartum care services to support the success of exclusive breastfeeding

Abstract

Caring behavior of nurses can provide useful services for patients, caring behavior in the nursing process is very important because this behavior is an important experience for patients during hospital treatment. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the caring behavior of implementing nurses and  the satisfaction of inpatients in the Lotus room of Mokopido Tolitoli Hospital. This study uses a cross sectional design. A sample of 30 patients was selected using a total sampling technique. The research instrument was in the form of a questionnaire on nurses' caring behavior and patient satisfaction levels. Data analysis was carried out using the chi-square test. The results of the analysis showed that most of the nurses showed caring behavior  (80%) and most of the patients were satisfied with the services received (80%). The results of the statistical test showed that there was a significant relationship between the caring behavior of the implementing nurse and patient satisfaction. This is shown by a significant value (p-value) that is smaller than the significance level of 5% (p=0.02). Conclusion: there was a significant relationship between the caring behavior of the implementing nurse and the satisfaction of inpatients in the Lotus room of Mokopido Tolitoli Hospital. Caring behavior  will increase public trust in the implementing nurse in providing nursing care to patients. Therefore, the monitoring and feedback program for nurse caring behavior in the form of periodic patient evaluations needs to be carried out to maintain and increase patient satisfaction.

Abstract

Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability, resulting in muscle weakness and limited mobility. Range of Motion (ROM) exercises are a physiotherapy intervention that can improve muscle strength in stroke patients. This study aims to analyze the effect of ROM exercises on muscle strength improvement in stroke patients at Mokopido Tolitoli Regional Hospital. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach without a control group. The study sample consisted of 10 stroke patients with muscle weakness. Muscle strength was measured using Manual Muscle Testing (MMT) before and after ROM exercises, which were conducted for two weeks with a frequency of five sessions per week. Data were analyzed using the paired t-test to determine differences in muscle strength before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in MMT scores after ROM exercises (p < 0.05). Before the intervention, most patients had muscle weakness with an average MMT score of 2.1 ± 0.7, while after ROM exercises, the average score increased to 3.8 ± 0.6. The paired t-test result showed a value of t = -6.89; p = 0.001, indicating that ROM exercises had a significant effect on improving muscle strength in stroke patients. ROM exercises are effective in increasing muscle strength in stroke patients. Implementing ROM exercises in stroke rehabilitation programs can help prevent muscle atrophy, improve mobility, and accelerate motor function recovery. Further research with a larger sample and a more robust study design is needed to confirm these findings.
