Abstract

This study explores the evolving discourse on sustainable travel amid increasing ecological crises and climate change. As traditional travel and tourism practices continue to contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity loss, and socio-economic disparities, this research aims to examine alternative travel paradigms that align with sustainability principles. Using a qualitative, literature-based methodology, the study synthesizes findings from interdisciplinary sources, including environmental science, tourism studies, policy reports, and technological innovations. The research identifies major themes such as the environmental footprint of tourism, the socio-cultural responsibilities of travelers, and the role of digital platforms in shaping travel behavior. Key findings reveal persistent challenges such as the prioritization of profit over ecological and social wellbeing, the marginalization of rural and indigenous perspectives, and the disconnect between travelers’ intentions and behaviors. Additionally, the study uncovers opportunities in community-based tourism, carbon reduction strategies, and ethical governance models. The paper calls for a comprehensive paradigm shift toward a regenerative travel ethic that promotes environmental integrity, intercultural respect, and equitable economic development. By filling theoretical and practical gaps, particularly in localized and behavioral dimensions, the study contributes to a more holistic understanding of sustainable travel. It ultimately advocates for collaborative, multi-stakeholder approaches that redefine travel as a vehicle for global stewardship and long-term ecological resilience.

Abstract

The global tourism industry is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by technological advancements, environmental imperatives, socio-cultural shifts, and the prolonged effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. This study critically examines the current trends shaping tourism, identifies persistent challenges, and explores strategic opportunities for sustainable growth. Utilizing a qualitative research approach grounded in thematic content analysis, the study synthesizes data from peer-reviewed literature, international policy documents, and industry reports published between 2018 and 2024. The findings reveal that digital transformation—through innovations such as mobile applications, artificial intelligence, and smart tourism platforms—has significantly redefined tourist behavior and destination management. Sustainability has emerged as a critical priority for both policymakers and travelers, prompting increased investment in eco-friendly practices and community-based tourism. Additionally, the rise of personalized and experiential travel underscores a shift toward authenticity and cultural engagement. The post-pandemic recovery has accelerated preferences for domestic travel, flexible booking policies, and heightened health and safety protocols. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the use of slang on the Indonesian language ability of elementary school students. Informal slang that deviates from the rules of standard language is now widely used by students in their daily lives, both in direct communication and through social media. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach that refers to various relevant literature. The results showed that the intensive use of slang can lead to a decrease in mastery of standard vocabulary, difficulty in structuring sentences according to the correct structure, and confusion in distinguishing between formal and informal language contexts. Nevertheless, students still recognize the importance of Indonesian in the context of education and official communication. To overcome this negative impact, cooperation between teachers, parents, and the environment is needed in fostering good language habits, as well as the implementation of learning strategies that emphasize the importance of correct Indonesian as a means of communication and national identity.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has redefined marketing practices across the globe, with small businesses increasingly embracing digital platforms to enhance market presence, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. This study investigates the extent and nature of digital marketing adoption among Stamford University graduates operating small businesses in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Using a mixed-methods approach, data were collected through a structured .questionnaire (n = 30) and in-depth semi-structured interviews (n = 10). The findings provide insight into the tools used, perceived benefits, implementation challenges, and the influence of academic background on digital marketing behavior. The study revealed that 83% of participants had adopted at least one form of digital marketing, with social media platforms—particularly Facebook (90%) and Instagram (65%)—being the most widely used. However, more advanced tools such as SEO (28%), Google Ads (20%), and email marketing (15%) were considerably underutilized. While 76% of respondents reported improved customer reach and 69% noted enhanced brand visibility, only 41% observed a significant impact on direct sales. Key challenges included limited technical skills (reported by over 60%), time constraints (45%), and a lack of understanding regarding return on investment. Though participants credited their Stamford University education with providing strong theoretical foundations, 62% acknowledged that practical digital marketing skills were largely self-taught. The research highlights a notable curriculum-practice gap and underscores the need for practical digital literacy training within business education programs. These findings contribute to the broader discourse on SME digital transformation in emerging economies and emphasize the importance of institutional and educational support in enabling effective digital marketing adoption

Abstract

This study examines the impact of climate change on agricultural productivity in the Carpathian Basin, a region spanning Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, and Ukraine. Using panel data from 2000 to 2022 and econometric modeling, the research investigates how key climate variables temperature, precipitation, and CO₂ emissions influence crop yields across varying agro-ecological contexts. Secondary data were sourced from FAOSTAT, the World Bank, the European Environment Agency, and national meteorological agencies. Results from fixed effects regression models reveal that rising temperatures significantly reduce crop yields, particularly for heat-sensitive crops like maize and sunflower, with a 1°C increase linked to an average yield decline of 0.93 tons per hectare. Conversely, a 100 mm increase in annual precipitation corresponds to a 5–7% yield improvement, though extreme rainfall or drought events can negate these benefits. While CO₂ emissions exhibit a slight fertilization effect, their interaction with high temperatures results in further yield reductions. Control variables such as fertilizer use and irrigation show mitigating effects, though their influence remains limited in the face of persistent climate stress. The study highlights the urgent need for region-specific adaptation strategies, including enhanced irrigation infrastructure, climate-resilient crops, and cross-border policy collaboration. These findings contribute to the growing literature on climate-agriculture dynamics and offer actionable insights for strengthening food security and sustainability in the Carpathian Basin.
