Abstract

The purpose of reviewing robusta coffee (Coffea robusta Lindl.) production at some height, slope, and soil type in Silima Pungga-Pungga regency of Dairi. After overlaying map of ground tipe, elvation, and slope it was found 18 SPT (set of land)  with the scale  1 : 25.000. The population of the research is coffee tree in the study field. Sum of point of sampling for coffee trees are 540 sample points. The result of data analysis showed the higest sum of ripe seed coffee production at Great Group Hydrudands as SPL (set of land) 12 and the lowest sum of ripe seed coffee production at Great Group Kadiudults as  SPL 1. The highest weight production of ripe seed coffee production at Great Group Hydrudands as SPl (set of land) 12 and the lowest weight production of ripe seed coffee production at Great Group Kadiudults as  SPL 1. Abstract

The aimed of the research to know the influence of photoperiod of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.) in the different medium composition. The research was carried out in the Microcutting Laboratory, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III Kebun Gunung Pamela Tebing Tinggi, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. The research began from March to July 2015. The research used completely randomized design with eighteen treathments and six replications. The results showed that interaction of photoperiod and medium with combination of growth regulators were significantly to percent of shoots. Photoperiod 24 h light and the medium of WPM + BAP 0,5 mg/l was the best medium to multiplication of rubber.

Abstract

This research was heldto know sprending of C-organic on paddy soil land at Village of Sei Bamban Subdistric of Sei Bamban Distric of Serdang Bedagai. This research was executed in Village of Sei Bamban Subdistric of Sei Bamban Distric of Serdang Bedagai on May until August 2015. Samples were taked with method Survey Free Grid of storey level semi detail survey. Parameter which was measured is C organic and analysed with Walkley and Black methods.The results of research were obtained four criteria C-organic nutrient status is very low, low, medium and high. At very low criteria have wide equal to 901,66 Ha. At low criteria have wide equal to 196,34 Ha. At medium have wide equal to 140,10 Ha. Abstract

This research was carried out on land the area residents,pasar 1 street No.89 Tanjung Sari, Medan at altitude of ± 25 asl from May 2015 through July 2015, using factorial randomized block design with two treatment factors, namely liquid organic fertilizer goat urine with treatments of 0, 200, 400, 600   cc/ L of water and Plant Spacing with treatment 20x20 cm, 25x20 cm and 30x20 cm. Parameters measured were plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight total per sample, selling fresh weight per sample, fresh weight of roots per sample, harvest index and shoot-root ratio.The results showed that the liquid organic fertilizer goat urine application had no significant effect on all parameters. Plant spacing significantly affected parameters plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight total per sample, selling fresh weight per sample, and fresh weight of roots per sample. Interaction of liquid organic fertilizer goat urine and spacing of treatment had no significant effect on all parameters of existing observations. Abstract

The purpose of the study to determine the characteristics of the chemichal properties of ultisols sub groups in some areas of Northern Sumatra. This research uses descriptive method by conducting surveys and soil samples up to 6 sub group of Typic Hapludults, Typic Paleudults, Psammentic Paleudults, Typic Plinthudults, Typic Ochraquults, Typic Paleaquults taken a depth of 0-30 cm at random (purposive random sampling) and composited by each sub group. Parameters analyzed were soil texture, pH, C-organic, total N, total P, P-available, exch.-K, CEC, BS, Al-exch., and aluminum saturation. The results showed that soil texture in each sub group varies the sandy clay, clay, loamy sand, clay loam, clay, and sandy clay loam. Soil pH has a wry criteria except in Typic Paleudults and Typic Paleaquults is very wry. C-organic content, total N, total P, P-available,        K-exch, CEC, and BS in each sub group classified in the very low to low criteria except CEC in Typic Paleudults with the criteria moderate. Ultisols sub group has the characteristic physical and chemical properties of different/ varied.Keywords : characteristic, chemical properties, ultisols sub groups, north sumatra

Abstract

This research was to determine the effect of rainfall and rain day as well as the correlation of both on oil palm production in plants aged 8, 16 and 19 years. This research was held at PTPN IV Unit Bah Jambi from May 2015 until August 2015. This research used primary data such as the production of fresh fruit bunches (FFB); componen production data as total bunches, average bunches weight, and total of productive trees; rainfall data and rain day monthly in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Analysis method used are double linier regression and correlation analysis by using statistic software SPSS.v.17 for windows. The regression analysis shows that rain fall and rain day variables significanted with  alpha 5% (Sig < α 0.05) to increase the production of FFB at the age of 16 years and unsignificanted to increase the production of FFB at the age 8 and 19 years. Correlation results in plants was 8, 16, and 19 years with two-way analysis test at 1% level showed variable rainfall and rainy days have a strong relationship, and the real (positive) direction. Correlation values ​​of rainfall and rainy days are 0.848; 0.901; and 0.851 each with significant level    < α 0,01.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to deferinte the response of planting medium compotition and watering interval to growth of Green Deli Rose Apple hijau seedling (Sygizium samarangense). The study was conducted at green house of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan with the altitude 25 m above sea level, from July to October 2014. This research was used split plot design with two treatments, watering interval as the main plot treatment with 3 category: I1 (one day watering interval), I2 (three days watering interval), I3 (five days watering interval) with compotition of planting medium as subplot with 4 category : M1 (subsoil), M2 (subsoil+charcoal (2:1), M3 (subsoil+charcoal (1:1), M4 (subsoil+charcoal (1:2) with 3 replication. The result showed the treatment of planting media compotition has asignificant to increasing of : stem diameter and root volume and watering interval has a significantly affected to increasing of seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, root volume, number of root and number of primer branch. The interaction has a significantly affect to increasing of root volume parameter.

Abstract

Andisol consist of total P in a huge amount  however it is in unavailable form for plant to uptake. One of the treatment to increase phosphate available on soil by using fungi. The objective of research was to determine the effect from penicillium inoculum, the time of inoculum application and SP-36 fertilizer dosage in the growth of potato and soil P availability. The experiment design used was randomized block design with three factors and three replications. The first factor was the penicillium inoculum with three stages (10, 20 and 30 mL), the second factor was the application period with two stages (1 and 2 week after plant growth) and the third factor was SP-36  fertilizer dosage with three dosages (50, 75 and 100%) from dosage used by local farmer. The parameters were microorganism population, pH, total P, P available, shoot dry weight and P uptake by plant. The result showed that penicillium inoculum was able to increase total P, P available and shoot dry weight of potato. The interaction between 30 mL of penicillium inoculum, time of application inoculum at 2 week after plant growth and 50% dosage of phosphate produce the highest potatoes shoot dry weight.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari karakter vegetatif dan generatif kedelai toleran aluminium. Penelitian tahap I pengujian varietas toleran Aluminium yang dilakukan di laboratorium Kultur Jaringan. Kecambah pada umur 3 hari ditumbuhkan  pada kultur hara minimum dengan cekaman Al 15ppm selama 72 jam dan masa pemulihan (tanpa Al) selama 48 jam. Kecambah yang dipilih diukur berdasarkan nilai Root Re-Growth (RRG). Nilai RRG ditentukan berdasarkan selisih panjang akar utama setelah pemulihan dan setelah cekaman. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Rumah Kaca Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan Sumatera Utara pada bulan Juni 2014 sampai September 2014 dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Non Faktorial dengan perlakuan adalah varietas Willis Anjasmoro dan Detam I. Berdasarkan  hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa varietas berbeda nyata panjang tanaman, lama stadia vegetatif, jumlah polong per tanaman, jumlah polong  berisi, jumlah polong hampa, dan produksi biji per tanaman. Varietas yang tidak berbeda nyata terhadap, umur berbunga, umur panen, lama stadia generatif, berat basah, berat kering, dan panjang akar. Kata kunci: kedelai, root re-Growth, toleran Al

Abstract

The objectives of the research was to determine the responses of different type of lime cutting as plant materials and IBA concentrations on growth was carried out at field trial of Agriculture Faculty, University of North Sumatera, Medan (± 25 m asl) on June – September 2015 with used factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors were plant materials (shoot cutting without leaves; stem cutting with leaves; and stem cutting without leaves) and IBA concentrations (0; 100; 200; and 300 ppm) and three replications. The result showed that the growth of lime shoot cutting without leaves significantly better than the other treatments and the aplication of 300 ppm IBA concentration significantly increased 44,05 % shoot length than without IBA. There was no significant interaction between the plant material used and the aplication of IBA concentrations for all parameters observed.
