Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain dose of municipal waste compost and P fertilizer which can improve the growth and production of the soybean. The research was conducted at experimental field of Agricultural Faculty of Sumatera Utara University, Medan which about ± 25 metres above sea level, begun from April to July 2015 using factorial randomized block design with two factors, i.e: doses of municipal waste compost (0 g/plant, 15 g/plant, 30 g/plant, and 45 g/plant) and doses of P fertilizer (0 g/plant, 1.5, and 3 g/plant). Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of books per plant, number of pods per plant, number of pods per plant lists, number of seeds per plant, seeds per plant weight, weight 100 seeds, and production of seeds per plots. The results showed that application of municipal waste compost significantly affected stem diameter at 2, 4, 5 weeks after planting,production of seeds per plots. Application of P fertilizer significantly affected number of pods per plant lists, number of seeds per plant, and seeds per plant weight. Interaction between aplication of municipal waste compost and P fertilizer not significantly affected on all parameters of observation.

Abstract

Sweet potato is a high economy value commodity and bring a lot of benefits, In addition to having carbohydrate content high have also containing nutrients helpful for health. The research carried out in agricultural land village Serapuh in June to September 2015, Used randomized block design with two factors that is doses rice straw asher (10g, 20g, 30g, 40g) and time in sowing of a rice straw asher (two weeks before planting , one week before planting,  when planting) parameter examined is long branches main, how many branches of, the number of bulb per sample, fresh weight bulb per sample, the dried bulb weight per sample, the number of bulb per a plot, fresh weight bulb per a plot.The result of research showed dose of rice straw ash nothing significantly to all parameter. Time of sowing of rice straw asher significantly  of parameter number of branches of 5 and 7 MST. Interaction are significantly on the parameter of fresh bulb weight per sample. The best result of the research is dose of rice straw ash 40g and application of rice straw ash one week before planting.   Keywords: rice straw asher, time in swing, sweet potato.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth and production responses of two lowland maize varieties to organic fertilizer. This study was held in the screen house, faculty of agriculture, University of North Sumatera, from January 2014 until May 2014. This research using randomized block design with 2 factors, factor 1: maize varieties (V): V1 (Pioner 12), V2 (Bisma), and factor 2 with 4 levels, namely P0: no manure (control), P1: 10 g of cow manure / plant, P2: 23 ml of liquid manure (cow urina) / plant, P3: 10 g of cow manure fertilizer +23 ml liquid manure / plant. The result from of this research was not significantly on parameters plant height the number, of leaves and the age of flowering. Interaction of organic fertilizer gave significantly effect to varieties treatment. The high heritability value was showed by parameters the number of leaves,the age of male flowering and the age of female flowering.Keywords: organic fertilizer, corn, varieties

Abstract

ABSTRACT MONICA DAME YANTI AMBARITA. Identification of morphological characteristic of  banana (Musa spp.) in Deli Serdang district. Supervised by Eva Sartini Bayu and Hot Setiado. This research aimed to identify the morphological characteristic  of banana in Deli Serdang district. The research was done at Sinembah Tanjung Muda Hulu and Sinembah Tanjung Muda Hilir in July to October 2015 with survey method using banana descriptor of IPGRI. Sampling technique using purposive sampling with location judgement . Parameters observed were pseudostem height, pseudostem colour, pseudostem aspect, leaf habit, appearance of leaf upper surface, shape of leaf blade base,colour of bone leaves, penducle length, bunch position, bunch shape, bunch appearance, male bud shape, bract base shape, bract apex shape, color of the bract external face, fruit position, number of bunch, number of fruit, fruit length, fruit shape, fruit apex,surface of the fruit stalk, immature fruit peel colour, mature fruit peel colour, pulp colour of maturity. Bananas were found and identified in Deli Serdang that  Banten, Uli, Tembaga, Barangan, Kepok, Ambon, Lilin, and Tembaga Putih.Keywords : Identification, morphology, banana ABSTRAK MONICA DAME YANTI AMBARITA : Identifikasi Karakter Morfologi  Pisang (Musa spp.) di Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Dibimbing oleh Ir.Eva Sartini Bayu, MP dan Ir.Hot Setiado, MS.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik morfologi pada tanaman pisang yang ada di Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Sinembah Tanjung Muda Hulu dan Sinembah Tanjung Muda Hilir pada bulan Juli-Oktober 2015 menggunakan metode survei dengan menggunakan panduan deskriptor pisang IPGRI .Teknik pengambilan sampel secara purposive dengan pertimbangan lokasi. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi batang, warna batang, aspek batang, ketegakan daun, kenampakan permukaan daun, bentuk pangkal daun, warna punggung tulang daun, panjang tangkai tandan, posisi tandan, bentuk tandan, kenampakan tandan, bentuk jantung, bentuk pangkal braktea, bentuk ujung braktea, warna luar braktea, posisi buah, jumlah sisir per tandan, jumlah buah per sisir, panjang buah, bentuk buah, ujung buah, permukaan tangkai buah, warna kulit buah belum masak, warna kulit buah masak, warna daging buah masak. Pisang yang ditemukan dan diidentifikasi di kabupaten Deli Serdang berjumlah 8 jenis pisang  yaitu pisang Ambon, pisang Banten, pisang Barangan, pisang Kepok, pisang Lilin, pisang Uli, pisang Tembaga dan pisang Tembaga Putih. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research has been conducted to obtain dose of NPKMg and the kind of mulchs which can improve the growth and production of the shallot. This research had been conducted at Simalingkar B Medan in June-September 2015 using factorial randomized block design with two factors, dose of NPKMg (no NPKMg, 2, 4. 6, and 8 g/shallot) and the kind of mulch (no mulch, black silver mulch, and straw of rice mulch). Parameter observed were plant length, number of leaves per clump, number of tillers per clump, diameter of the bulbs per sample, wet bulb weight per sample, dry bulb weight per sample, wet bulb weight per plot, and dry bulb weight per plot. The results showed that aplication of NPKMg manure significantly affected parameter plant length 6-7 MST, not significantly affected other parameters. Aplication of the kind of mulch significantly affected plant length 2-8 MST, number of leaves per clump 2-3 MST, number of tillers per clump 3 MST, wet bulb weight per plot, and dry bulb weight per plot yet not significantly affected other parameters. Interaction between aplication of NPKMg and the kind of mulch not significantly affected on all parameters of observation. Keywords : mulchs, NPKMg, shallot ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dosis pemberian pupuk NPKMg dan jenis mulsa tertentu yang dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produksi bawang merah. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Simalingkar B Medan pada bulan Juni hingga Setember 2015. Metode penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok faktorial dengan dua faktor yaitu pupuk NPKMg (tanpa pupuk NPKMg, 2, 4, 6, dan 8 g/tanaman) dan jenis mulsa (tanpa mulsa, mulsa hitam perak, mulsa jerami padi). Parameter yang diamati adalah panjang tanaman, jumlah daun per sampel, jumlah anakan per rumpun, diameter umbi per sampel, bobot basah umbi per sampel, bobot kering umbi per sampel, bobot basah umbi per plot, dan bobot kering umbi per plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk NPKMg berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter panjang tanaman umur 6 - 7 MST, namun berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap parameter lainnya. Pemberian jenis mulsa berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter panjang tanaman umur 2 – 8 MST, jumlah daun pada umur 2 – 3 MST, jumlah anakan pada umur 3 MST, bobot basah umbi per plot, dan bobot kering umbi per plot namun berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap parameter lainnya. Interaksi antara pemberian pupuk NPKMg dan jenis mulsa berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap semua parameter. Kata kunci : bawang merah, mulsa, NPKMg

Abstract

The objectives of this research was to study the growth of green deli water apple (Syzygium samarangense (Blume) Merr. & Perry on difference plant materials  and IBA concentrations. This research was conducted at experimental field of Agriculture Faculty, University of  North Sumatera, Medan on August until October 2015, using randomized block design with two factors, i.e cutting plant materials (branches with shoot and branches without shoot) and IBA concentration (0; 50; 100; and 150 ppm) with 3 replications. The result showed that the growth of green deli water apple with branches without shoot better than branches with shoot, the application of 100 ppm IBA concentration has given better effect than the other treatments for growth of green deli water apple and the best combination for growth of green deli water apple was branches without shoot and 100 ppm IBA concentration.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to identify the morphological characteristics of several local Samosir shallot which was conducted in Bakti Raja, Humbang Hasundutan district i.e. Siunong-unong Julu, Marbun Dolok, Simamora, Marbun Toruan, Sinambela-Simanulang and Simangulampe start from July till August 2015. This research was implemented by using randomized block design non factorial with 3 replicants. The parameters observed were time flowering, leaves colour, bulbs shape, bulbs colour, plant length, leaves number, tillers number per clump, wet bulbs weight, dry bulbs weight, bulbs number per clump, diameter of bulbs, 100 bulbs dry weight, wet-dry bulbs weight decrease. The result of research showed local Samosir shallot in six accession in Bakti Raja districts have narrow kuantitative related. The morphological differentiator characteristic of the accessions was wet bulbs weight. The potential yields of each accession shown that the shallot from Marbun Toruan has the highest yields potential i.e 15,20 ton/ha then Siunong-unong Julu i.e 12,00 ton/ha, Simangulampe i.e 11,93 ton/ha, Simamora i.e 11,76 ton/ha, Sinambela-Simanulang i.e 11,36 ton/ha and Marbun Dolok i.e 11,07 ton/ha wet bulbs.

Abstract

The main goal of this research is to evaluate the respons of genotype and part of cutting on growth of cassava to raise the productivity. The research was conducted  at Pegajahan Village, district of Deli Serdang, North Sumatra from March to June 2015. The experiment was arranged by Split Plot Design with genotype (G) as mainplot, which consists of one variety i.e., Adira 1, and  two genotypes i.e., Malaysia and Roti. Parts of cuttings (S) is subplot that consist of three parts i.e., bottom, middle and top. The treatments were replicated three times. The results showed that the genotype were significantly different to the parameter plant height of 4 WAP and 8 WAP, stem diameter, number of cassava roots, long of cassava roots, weight of cassava roots. The part of cuttings and interaction not significant. Keywords : genotype of cassava, part of cutting ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk melihat respon dari genotipe dan asal stek terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman ubikayu untuk meningkatkan produktivitas. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Pegajahan, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara dari bulan Maret sampai Juni 2015. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terpisah pola RAK dengan petak  utama yaitu genotipe (G) yang terdiri dari Varietas Adira 1, Genotipe Malaysia dan Genotipe Roti. Anak petak yaitu asal stek (S) terdiri dari bagian bawah, tengah, dan atas. Perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa genotipe berbeda nyata terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman 4 MST dan 8 MST, diameter batang, jumlah ubikayu, panjang ubikayu, bobot ubikayu. Asal stek dan interaksi  tidak berbeda nyata. Kata kunci : asal stek, genotipe ubikayu

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh jumlah ruas dan sudut tanam terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi beberapa varietas ubijalar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dilahan masyarakat amplas, Sumatera Utara, Medan, Indonesia dengan ketinggian tempat + 25 m diatas permukaan laut, yang dilaksanakan pada bulan juni 2015 sampai dengan oktober 2015. Menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan tiga faktor perlakuan yaitu : varietas (Antin-1 dan Sari), jumlah ruas ( jumlah ruas dua dan jumlah ruas tiga) dan sudut tanam (450 dan 00). Parameter yang diamati adalah pertambahan panjang tanaman, bobot umbi per sampel, jumlah umbi per sampel, panjang umbi per sampel, diameter umbi per sampel, bobot umbi per plot. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa varietas berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan panjang tanaman, bobot umbi per sampel, jumlah umbi per sampel, panjang umbi per sampel, diameter umbi per sampel, bobot umbi per plot. Interkasi antara varietas dan ruas berpengaruh nyata pada pertambahan panjang tanaman. Abstract

The aim of this research was to study the effects of growth regulators BAP concentration on the number of leaves, shoots, and roots by using in vitro method. The research was conducted at the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Department of Agriculture, Banggai District in August - October 2015, This study used a Randomized Complete Design with one factor and six level of  treatments i.e, BAP (M1 = 0.1 ppm; M2 = 1.0 ppm; M3 = 0.2 ppm; M4 = 2.0 ppm; M5 = 0.3 ppm; M6 = 3.0 ppm). The results showed that BAP at various concentrations was significantly influenced on the number of leaves at 4-10 weeks  after planting, and have no significant effect on the number of shoots and roots.
