Abstract

This study aims to enhance the positive discipline of seventh-grade students through the implementation of classroom procedures in English language instruction at SMP Negeri 6 Teluk Pakedai. The research was prompted by the observed absence of clearly developed positive disciplinary character and behavior among students. A qualitative approach was selected as the most appropriate methodology for this study. Data collection was carried out through observation and surveys, using observation sheets and questionnaires as instruments. The classroom procedures were developed with student involvement and implemented consistently over a period of several months. The results of the study indicate a significant improvement in various aspects of student discipline, including orderliness, punctuality, obedience, self-control, responsibility, and consistency. This was evidenced by observation and survey results, which demonstrated an increase in the percentage of students exhibiting positive disciplinary behavior, rising from 16 percent to 66 percent following the implementation of classroom procedures over several months. The most notable improvements were observed in orderliness, punctuality, and responsibility. These findings are consistent with previous research indicating that the application of clear and consistent classroom procedures can be effective in shaping student discipline. In conclusion, the implementation of classroom procedures represents an effective strategy for fostering positive discipline among students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of classroom beliefs in fostering learning motivation for class IX students at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Kakap. Classroom beliefs include the values, rules, and expectations agreed upon by teachers and students as guidelines for the learning process. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews with students, and distribution of questionnaires to measure student learning motivation. Aspects of learning motivation that are measured include interest in learning, effort and perseverance, as well as a conducive learning environment. The research results show that consistent implementation of classroom beliefs is able to foster student interest in the subject matter, strengthen effort and persistence in completing assignments, and create a learning environment that supports student comfort and active participation. Supporting factors in classroom implementation are the teacher's commitment to implementing classroom beliefs, a conducive learning environment, and peer support. The factors inhibiting the implementation of classroom beliefs are the lack of consistency between teachers and students in implementing classroom beliefs and the lack of student awareness of the importance of classroom beliefs. This research recommends strengthening communication between teachers and students to further optimize the application of classroom beliefs in order to increase learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of learning communities at SMP Negeri 1 Kuala Mandor B in enhancing teachers' motivation to participate in professional development activities related to knowledge, skills, self-confidence, and the implementation of quality learning processes. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and classroom supervision. Activities within the learning community include reviewing teaching modules, classroom teaching practice, and assessment. Teachers collaborate to share best practices in terms of experience, knowledge, and skills in order to determine more effective classroom teaching methods. Collaboration, innovation, and experience sharing among teachers play a vital role in the learning community to improve the quality of education in schools. Enhancing teachers' competencies significantly contributes to the realization of professional classroom management. Learning that applies varied models and strategies, as well as the implementation of differentiation, leads to effective classroom management. Effective learning is achieved through teachers’ competencies in selecting appropriate and varied teaching models or strategies, as well as optimizing student engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project to Strengthen the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) in fostering the character of cooperation (gotong royong) through the making of traditional snacks among fifth-grade students (Phase C) at SDN 2 Rasau Jaya. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews. Observations were carried out by directly observing students during the action phase of the project. The findings indicate that the project activities successfully introduced students to various traditional snacks and the processes involved in making them. The results also show that the value of cooperation (gotong royong) was demonstrated by the participants throughout the project. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Project effectively fosters the character of cooperation among fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Rasau Jaya.

Abstract

Politeness is one of the key elements in shaping students’ noble character and strong personal values. The inculcation of polite behavior from an early age is crucial as it serves as the foundation for building healthy social relationships, both within the school environment and in the broader community. However, based on the findings of the researcher, there has been a noticeable decline in polite behavior among students. This decline is influenced by various factors, one of which is the excessive and uncontrolled use of social media. As a result, some students imitate negative behaviors they observe online, such as speaking rudely, showing disrespect toward elders, and demonstrating a lack of concern for their surroundings. This study aims to reestablish polite behavior in students through the implementation of class agreements at SD Negeri 15 Kuala Mandor B. Class agreements refer to mutual commitments established between teachers and students, developed based on students’ input and jointly agreed upon as rules to be applied consistently throughout the learning process. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. Observations were conducted four times during September 2024 to monitor changes in student behavior. The findings reveal that the implementation of class agreements positively influences the improvement of students' polite behavior, both in verbal communication and in their daily attitudes within the school setting. Furthermore, students have begun to demonstrate mutual respect toward one another and show greater respect for their teachers in every learning activity.

Abstract

Karakter religius menjadi nilai yang pertama kali disebutkan dalam penguatan pendidikan karakter. Nilai ini mencerminkan ketergantungan seseorang yang selalu menyandarkan segala aspek kehidupannya kepada agama. Nilai tersebut dijadikan sebagai panutan dan penuntun dalam setiap tutur kata, sikap, dan perbuatannya, serta taat menjalankan perintah dan menjauhi larangan Tuhannya. Karakter religius sangat dibutuhkan oleh siswa dalam menghadapi perubahan zaman dan degradasi moral. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa agama atau religiusitas memiliki peranan penting dalam membentuk karakter yang baik dan bermoral. Dalam pendekatan sosiologi, fenomena keagamaan tidak dapat dipisahkan dari struktur sosial dan budaya yang membentuk serta mendukung perilaku religius di dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan penguatan pendidikan karakter religius pada aspek pengetahuan agama, pemahaman agama, dan penerapan agama di SMP As-Sakinah Pontianak. Sebagai sekolah Islam khusus perempuan, SMP As-Sakinah Pontianak berorientasi pada pembentukan karakter dan kepribadian muslimah. Terdapat dua bentuk penguatan pendidikan karakter religius yaitu PPK Mutaba’ah Yaumiyah dan PPK Mutaba’ah Tahfidzul Qur’an yang bersifat harian menciptakan pembiasaan positif setiap harinya terutama untuk mengontrol amal ibadah dan hafalan Al-Quran siswi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan penguatan pendidikan karakter religius pada aspek pengetahuan agama, pemahaman agama, dan penerapan agama telah terlaksana dengan baik. Pelaksanaan penguatan pendidikan karakter religius melalui PPK Mutaba’ah Yaumiyah dan PPK Mutaba’ah Tahfidzul Qur’an dapat membentuk siswi menjadi muslimah yang taat menjalankan ajaran agamanya dan berakhlak karimah yang tercermin dalam perilaku sehari-hari baik di sekolah, di rumah, dan di lingkungan masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of gamified learning through Genially in sociology instruction for eleventh-grade students at SMAIT AL MUMTAZ Pontianak. The research focuses on the planning process, implementation, and learning effectiveness for students using gamified learning via Genially in sociology classes. This study employs a qualitative research method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving the sociology teacher and four eleventh-grade students as research subjects. The findings indicate that the use of gamified learning through Genially was systematically planned, taking into account the readiness of both teachers and students. The implementation of gamification via Genially was able to transform passive lessons into active ones, thereby creating a communicative learning process and generating positive responses from students. The use of gamified learning through Genially in sociology instruction also proved to be an effective method for increasing student engagement and motivation. In conclusion, the use of gamified learning through Genially by the sociology teacher in the eleventh grade at SMAIT AL MUMTAZ Pontianak not only made learning more active and enjoyable but also served as an effective approach to fostering responsive and communicative learning among students during sociology lessons.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of independent character education of students by teachers of Sociology class XI F SMAN 10 Pontianak. Independent character education is an effort to form students who are able to be responsible, confident, and take initiative in the learning process. The method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data sources in this study consisted of a sociology teacher who taught in class XI F, namely Mrs. DP and four students who were the subjects of the study, namely EWF, RPIW, ADB, and TW. Data collection was carried out through direct observation in the classroom, interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of the results of the implementation of independent character education for students by teachers of sociology subjects class. The results of the study show that teachers have prepared plans through teaching modules that contain independent character values. The implementation of learning is carried out by providing space for students to choose learning methods and complete assignments independently, most of the students showed the development of independent characters such as initiative, confidence, and responsibility. Teachers provide challenges gradually, relate learning to real life, and give appreciation for the learning process. Overall, the implementation of independent character education in grade XI F is going quite well, although continuous support is still needed from teachers, schools, and the surrounding environment to strengthen the overall character formation of students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model using Flipbook media in Sociology learning. The use of technology is intended to improve the quality of education. Based on preliminary observations, Sociology teachers still tend to be less effective in carrying out the learning process; as a result, students are also less active during Sociology lessons and many of them do not comply with the instructions given by the teacher. Teachers need to innovate by applying more creative and engaging learning methods. One learning model that can encourage students to be more active and think critically in the learning process is the Problem-Based Learning model. At SMA Negeri 3 Simpang Hilir, the use of media in the learning process is still lacking due to limited understanding of emerging technologies. One of the media previously used is Flipbook. The research method employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach. The implementation of Sociology learning using the Problem-Based Learning model with Flipbook media was carried out in two sessions. The results of the study show that teachers assessed students in three domains: the knowledge domain, in which students were evaluated based on group and individual assignments reflecting their knowledge and daily life experiences; the attitude domain, in which students were assessed on their responsibility (such as attending classes), spiritual and social attitudes; and the skills domain, in which students were assessed on their collaboration, inclusion of facts, examples, and theories, as well as politeness and creativity.

Abstract

The character trait of responsibility has been taught to students in class X7 at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Ambawang, Kubu Raya Regency, but in its application in the classroom, the attitude of responsibility among class X7 students has not yet been optimally formed. Considering that in the learning process, teachers do not only have the role of teaching knowledge, but teachers have various roles in the learning process. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the role of teachers as instructors, educators, and motivators in instilling a sense of responsibility in students in the 10th grade sociology class at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Ambawang in Kubu Raya Regency. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Ambawang, Kubu Raya Regency. The objects in this study were Sociology teachers and Grade X7 students, with a total of 36 students. The results of the study indicate that the role of teachers as educators in instilling a sense of responsibility in students is to assign group tasks, set deadlines for completing the tasks, and create a classroom atmosphere that supports the development of responsibility in students in completing their tasks. The role of teachers as educators in instilling responsibility is to assist students while they are working on assignments and provide guidance to students in completing their assignments. The role of teachers as motivators in instilling responsibility is to encourage students to take responsibility for their assignments and build their self-confidence.The abstract contains a brief description of the research problem and objectives, the methods used, the urgency of the research, teaching, learning or management of the educational unit and the presentation of the research results. The abstract should reflect the content of the article. The abstract must be written in a paragraph of a maximum of 300 words. Keywords should be included to describe the problem area, and the terms underlying the conduct of the research. Keywords can be single words or combinations of words (phrases). The number of keywords is usually between 3 - 5 words. Keywords are needed for computerization. Searching for research titles and abstracts is easy with these keywords.
