Abstract

This research discusses the Safawi Kingdom which was established in the 16th century AD is one of the great empires in the Islamic world, centered in Persia (Iran) by adopting Shia Itsna Ashariah as a state ideology. The establishment of this kingdom was influenced by the Safawiyah order movement led by Safi al-Din in the 16th century AD. The development and progress of the Safawi Kingdom reached its peak during the reign of Shah Abbas I, who ruled from 1587 to 1629 AD. This research uses the library approach method (Library Research). Library research is a series of activities related to library data collection methods, reading and recording, and processing research materials by examining reading sources that have to do with the studies discussed in this study. During the reign of Abbas I, the kingdom experienced significant progress in the political, economic, religious and cultural fields, characterized by military success, political stability, and the development of arts and sciences. However, after its heyday, the kingdom began to decline due to various internal and external factors. These included internal conflicts, tensions with the Ottoman Empire, moral decadence on the part of some rulers, and divisions within the royal family. In the 18th century, the Safavid Empire finally collapsed and was replaced by the Qajar dynasty. The fall of the empire was part of a major change in Persian history that led to European influence and the establishment of colonial regimes. This article examines the historical journey of the Safavid Empire, from its emergence, to its peak, to the causes of its decline and fall.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore government and community efforts in overcoming the challenges of intolerance, radicalism, and terrorism in Indonesia. Mosques, prayer rooms, Islamic boarding schools, and madrasahs have a strategic role in shaping the character of society and preserving Islamic culture. This study aims to examine the role of these four institutions as centers for community empowerment and cultural preservation in historical and contemporary contexts. Using library research methods, this study analyzes classical and modern literature to explore the relevance of their roles. The findings reveal that mosques and prayer rooms not only function as places of worship but also as centers for education, moral development, and social activities. Islamic boarding schools play an important role in preserving Islamic traditions through the teaching of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning) and promoting an Islamic way of life, while also acting as agents of social change by supporting the economic empowerment of the community. Madrasahs, through the integration of religious and general curricula, foster a generation that is academically competitive and has character in the global era. The four institutions complement each other in strengthening Islamic values and fostering a harmonious, independent, and competitive society. This study highlights the importance of collaboration between these religious institutions and elements of society to maintain their relevance amidst modernization and globalization. By optimizing the role of mosques, prayer rooms, Islamic boarding schools, and madrasahs, Islamic culture can continue to be preserved as an integral part of community life now and in the future.

Abstract

Islam has made significant contributions to the enforcement of Human Rights (HAM) and the prevention of racism, as reflected in the fundamental teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith. This study aims to analyze how Islamic principles support respect for human rights, as well as the role of religion in reducing racial discrimination. Islam teaches equality before God, emphasizing that all humans come from the same origin, namely Adam and Eve. This teaching encourages respect for the dignity of individuals regardless of ethnicity, race, or social status. Using a qualitative approach, this study examines various texts and interpretations that underlie the concept of human rights in Islam and its implementation in social life. The results show that although challenges in its implementation still exist, Islam has provided a strong foundation in advocating for basic human rights and overcoming racist practices in society. In conclusion, Islamic principles can be used as an important reference in global efforts to promote human rights and reduce racial discrimination.
