Based on interviews with four people in Baluase Village, one person stated they already knew that boiled bay leaves could lower high blood pressure, while three hypertensive patients stated they were unaware that boiled bay leaves could lower blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of boiled bay leaves on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive respondents in Baluase Village, within the Baluase Community Health Center (Puskesmas) working area. This study was quantitative, with a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. The data types used were primary and secondary data. The sample in this study amounted to 26 respondents, the sampling technique used total sampling. The results of the study showed that the results of the Wilcoxon test obtained showed that there was an effect of bay leaf decoction on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive respondents with a p value = 0.000 (p <0.05), the pre-test results were 53.8% with level 1 hypertension, and the post-test results were 88.5% with pre-hypertension. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of bay leaf decoction on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive respondents in Baluase Village, Baluase Health Center Working Area. Suggestions It is hoped that this study can be a comparison and reference for further research. For health workers at the Baluase Health Center, it is hoped that they can apply traditional medicine for hypertension sufferers.

Abstract

According to the 2022 SSGI report, the prevalence of underweight and severely underweight toddlers was 17.1%. The 2023 SKI report in North Sulawesi showed that toddlers were wasting at 6.4% and severely wasting at 2.4%. Based on age, the number of infants (0-11 months) wasting was 9.5% and severely wasting at 3.9%. Infant massage is also an alternative effort to achieve the simplest level of health that can be done at home, but many mothers are afraid to massage their babies. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of baby massage on infant weight gain. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. This study was conducted in the Gogagoman Community Health Center. The sample size was 20 infants (3-11 months). The sampling technique used was total sampling. The results of the study showed that the average weight of babies before massage was 4.15 kg with SD 0.72 and the average weight of babies after massage was 5.86 kg with SD 0.76. The results of the statistical test obtained a value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05) meaning that there is an effect of baby massage on increasing infant weight in the work area of Gogagoman Community Health Center. The conclusion is that there is a difference in the average score (mean) of baby weight before and after being given a massage with a score of 1.71, meaning that baby massage can increase baby weight.

Abstract

One of the main determinants of patient compliance with diabetic foot wound management is family support. Amputation and other more severe consequences can occur due to non-compliance. The purpose of this study was to find out how family support and patient compliance with diabetic foot wound care at Anuntaloko Parigi Hospital are interrelated. Cross-sectional methodology and quantitative design were used in the investigation. Based on the established inclusion and exclusion criteria, a purposive selection approach was used to select a sample of 51 respondents. The Hensarling Diabetes Family Support Scale (HDFSS) and the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) were used as research instruments. Using the Chi-Square test, data analysis was performed univariately and bivariately. The majority of respondents reported strong compliance (64.7%) and significant family support (68.6%), according to statistics. Family support and patient compliance with diabetic foot wound care were significantly correlated, according to the findings of the statistical test (p = 0.001). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between family support and patient compliance in diabetic foot wound care at Anuntaloko Parigi Hospital. Increased family involvement and support can encourage patients to be more compliant in undergoing consistent and effective wound care.
