Abstract

Fracture surgery pain makes it difficult for patients to do daily activities. The pain that occurs is caused by bone fractures that injure healthy tissue. Some independent actions that nurses can take to help patients are by using pain management to eliminate or reduce pain. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can be given to patients who experience pain is deep breathing relaxation. This therapy is one way for nurses to create a therapeutic environment by using themselves as a tool or medium for counseling in order to help others with health problems. To determine the effectiveness of the implementation of breathing relaxation therapy on post-operative pain of humerus fractures. The method used is a case study. The subjects used were post-operative patients with humerus fractures with pain problems. The results of the study with the application of evidence-based nursing deep breathing relaxation techniques carried out for 2 days, found that the level of pain on the first day was on a pain scale of 6, and on the second day decreased to a scale of 2, from the evaluation results it was found that deep breathing relaxation techniques were effective in reducing pain levels. The results of the case study showed that the level of pain after being given deep breathing relaxation technique intervention there was a decrease in pain in the client. To all health workers to provide non-pharmacological therapy in the form of deep breathing relaxation techniques and provide education so that clients can apply this therapy every time they feel pain.

Abstract

Gastritis is an inflammation of the gastric mucosa characterized by discomfort in the upper abdomen, nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite and headaches. Warm compresses can increase blood flow to the injured body part, then increase the delivery of leukocytes and antibiotics to the injured area, increase muscle relaxation and reduce pain due to spasms or stiffness, in addition it can also increase blood flow and increase the movement of waste and nutrients. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of warm compresses on abdominal pain in gastritis patients. The method used is a case study. The subjects used were gastritis patients with abdominal pain problems at the Panti Werdha Damai Ranomuut. The results of the study with the application of evidence-based nursing warm water compress therapy carried out for 3 days, found that the level of pain on the first day was on a pain scale of 7, and on the third day decreased to a scale of 0, from the evaluation results it was found that warm water compress therapy was effective in reducing the level of pain. The case study showed that the level of pain after being given warm water compress therapy intervention there was a decrease in the level of pain. Therefore, it is recommended that all health workers provide non-pharmacological therapy in the form of warm water compress therapy and provide education to clients so that they can apply this therapy when they feel pain due to gastritis.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the level of knowledge about osteoporosis and preventive behavior in suburban women. This study used a quantitative design with an observational analytical approach and a cross-sectional survey. A total of 82 randomly selected respondents were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge about osteoporosis and preventive behavior. Better knowledge about osteoporosis has been shown to improve preventive behavior carried out by women of childbearing age in the area. With sufficient knowledge, they are more likely to adopt preventive measures to maintain bone health and prevent decreased bone density in the future. This study emphasizes the importance of increasing education about osteoporosis, especially in women of childbearing age, to encourage them to care more about bone health and reduce the risk of osteoporosis in the future. Better education is expected to encourage positive changes in osteoporosis prevention behavior in this age group.

Abstract

The main problem in children with pneumonia is shortness of breath. Handling shortness of breath can be done by adopting a semi-Fowler position. In the semi-Fowler position, the patient is semi-sitting, where the head of the bed is higher or raised with a slope of 30°-45° and uses gravity. This can increase intrapleural pressure and also intra- alveolar pressure at the base of the lungs. The force of gravity increases the amount of air required to ventilate the dependent portion of the lung. This research aims to provide nursing care to An. MK with a diagnosis of pneumonia at the PICU Room, R.D. Kandou Manado Hospital. This research uses a descriptive research design with a case study approach. The analysis technique used is observation and summary studies which produce data for further interpretation and comparison with existing theory. This research found that respondents showed that their breathing patterns improved after being given the semi-Fowler position for 2 days with a frequency of 2 times a day, 15-20 minutes for respondents. Setting the semi-Fowler position can solve the problem of ineffective breathing patterns in pneumonia patients.

Abstract

Breast milk, commonly referred to as ASI (Air Susu Ibu), is the best and only recommended food for infants, as it contains the most complete nutritional composition for their growth and development. Exclusive breastfeeding refers to the practice of feeding infants only breast milk for the first six months of life, without any additional food or drink such as formula milk, fruit juice, honey, tea, plain water, or solid foods like bananas, papayas, milk porridge, biscuits, rice porridge, or soft rice. This study aims to examine the relationship between mothers’ knowledge about breastfeeding and their practice of exclusive breastfeeding at Tumpaan Health Center. The research was conducted from July to August 2023 using a quantitative design with a cross-sectional survey approach and accidental sampling technique. The study was conducted at Tumpaan Health Center with a total sample of 40 mothers with infants. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed a significant relationship between the level of maternal knowledge and the practice of exclusive breastfeeding (p = 0.03 < 0.05). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between maternal knowledge and exclusive breastfeeding at Tumpaan Health Center. Based on these findings, it is recommended that healthcare workers enhance their role in providing health education to the community regarding exclusive breastfeeding and its benefits, as well as coordinate with related institutions to further promote exclusive breastfeeding practices.

Abstract

Warm compress action can increase blood flow to the injured body part, then increase the delivery of leukocytes and antibiotics to the injured area, increase muscle relaxation and reduce pain due to spasms or stiffness, in addition it can also increase blood flow and increase the movement of waste and nutrients. At that time the blood vessels will widen so as to improve blood circulation in the tissue. The aim is to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of warm compresses on abdominal pain in gastritis patients. The method used is a case study. The subjects used were gastritis patients with abdominal pain problems at the Panti Werdha Damai Ranomuut. The results of the study with the application of evidence-based nursing warm water compress therapy carried out for 3 days, found the level of pain on the first day was on a pain scale of 7, and on the third day decreased to a scale of 0, from the results of the evaluation it was found that warm water compress therapy was effective in reducing pain levels. The conclusion of the case study results showed that the level of pain after being given warm water compress therapy intervention there was a decrease in the level of pain. Suggestions to all health workers to be able to provide non-pharmacological therapy in the form of warm water compress therapy and provide education to clients so that they can apply this therapy when they feel pain due to gastritis.
