Abstract

Congenital cardiac disease is the most prevalent congenital condition responsible for the highest mortality rate. Insufficient information among healthcare professionals hinders preventative and early detection efforts. We must implement educational initiatives designed to enhance the expertise of healthcare professionals in early identification and intervention. This initiative encompasses webinar training and echocardiography screening conducted with healthcare professionals in Kediri. We evaluated the participant's knowledge through a pre-test and post-test. A consultant pediatrician does an echocardiography screening next. A total of 451 participants attended the webinar. The mean pre-test score is 5.80 out of 15, whereas the mean post-test score is 12.84 out of 15. A total of 29 children underwent echocardiographic examination. Nineteen (65.52%) children were diagnosed with Asiatic congenital heart disease, four (13.79%) with cyanotic conditions, and six (20.68%) were classified as normal. Webinar training enhances health workers' understanding of early detection, with 79.31% of children undergoing echocardiography screening receiving a diagnosis

Abstract

Islamic banking currently offers business loans under Sharia-compliant strategies. Like conventional banks, Sharia Banks, as primary institutions in Sharia People's Business Loans, must exhibit prudence in managing People's Business Credit funds to avert detrimental financing results. This study seeks marketing strategies for Sharia-compliant micro, small, and medium firms via the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. Two marketing strategies exist: traditional and digital, both utilizing the 5Cs—Character, Capacity, Capital, Economic Conditions, and Collateral—to assess the feasibility of client engagement. This study, employing the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) analytical framework, concluded that the strengths and threats surpass the weaknesses and opportunities. The main factor is inadequate knowledge about Islamic finance. This study is noteworthy as it concentrates on the major annual government initiative and the largest Islamic bank in Indonesia. The cyberattack on the Islamic bank's computer infrastructure is exacerbating the difficulties in restoring public trust. The involvement of scholars and students in PAR-based collaborative efforts may provide an alternative method to address difficulties by improving Islamic financial knowledge

Abstract

The aim is to provide farmers with training and skills to efficiently utilize natural environmental resources, with particular emphasis on the optimal use of domestic vegetable and fruit waste. This will entail utilizing fermentation technology, which is predominantly unfamiliar yet desired by the community, to convert trash into more advantageous and environmentally friendly goods through the use of effective native microbes. Presently, folks exhibit less interest in investigating alternative approaches for the utilization of waste, especially home organic refuse. Bokashi fertilizer is an organic fertilizer created via the fermentation of organic waste, including manure and compost, employing decomposing microorganisms such as fermentative fungi or bacteria. The outcome is a granular, solid fertilizer enriched with a diverse array of nutrients, both macronutrients and micronutrients, readily absorbed by plant roots. The aim of this bokashi fertilizer course is to instruct and empower the community in the processing of organic materials sourced from household waste. The course intends to propagate fermentation technology for the management of organic waste in the community. This course seeks to enable farmers, vital societal contributors, to adopt innovative solutions for addressing environmental challenges. The methodology involves training participants, facilitating participant-led practice and mentoring, and evaluating the entire activity. This link augments the agricultural community's expertise and proficiency in employing domestic organic waste. The analysis of the questionnaire data indicated that all participants acknowledged the benefits of this training exercise. They have enhanced their interest and gained more profound information, and they are ready to apply it in their daily life

Abstract

The majority of waste in the form of food scraps is a serious problem today, because it rots quickly and gives an unpleasant smell when inhaled. Global data shows that fruit and vegetable waste is the largest contributor to the world's food waste. It turns out that organic waste also has an environmental impact if not managed properly, such as producing harmful gases such as methane gas. The explosion incident at the Final Landfill is a poor example of organic waste management and producing methane gas. To overcome this, organic waste is generally processed into compost, but it is less known that organic waste, especially fruits and vegetables, can be used as natural wound healers through eco enzymes. Therefore, the service team assists housewives in Semarang in processing organic waste into eco enzymes that can help heal wounds, including in diabetics. This activity was carried out for 6 months, involving preparation, procurement of materials, assistance in making eco enzymes, monitoring, socialization, and evaluation. The results of the evaluation showed that participants were able to process organic waste into eco enzymes that are useful as natural wound healers, which can help diabetics. This is a positive step in sustainable waste management while helping those in need of better wound healing

Abstract

Bacterial infections and drug resistance constitute significant health issues in Indonesia. The general lack of awareness regarding the proper use of antibiotics is one of the main causes. Therefore, the Community Service team from the Health Analyst Study Program conducted an activity titled "Education and Dissemination of Moringa Research Results as a Herbal Antibacterial and Training on Making Moringa Tea for Villagers." This activity aims to increase public knowledge and skills about the prevention and treatment of bacterial diseases using moringa herbal medicine. The methods employed for this activity include seminars and training sessions. The seminar discussed the potential of moringa extract as an antibacterial based on the results of the team's research and its wise application. The training discusses how to make moringa tea and its benefits as an alternative treatment. Educational brochures were also distributed to the participants of the activity. The results of the activity indicated that there was an increase in public understanding of moringa as an herbal antibiotic and the wise use of antibiotics, as well as an increase in people's skills in making moringa tea. This activity is expected to have a positive impact on the health of the village community. In addition, this activity is also in line with the concept and supports the achievement of IKU (the main performance indicator of higher education) by providing an off-campus learning experience for students and involving lecturers in community service activities

Abstract

Indonesia's substantial population, coupled with a rapid growth rate, has led to a rise in garbage generation, with the capital city producing 3.1 million tons of waste in 2023, predominantly consisting of organic waste. In 2023, East Jakarta generated the highest trash volume, totaling 844,252 tons annually. This is undoubtedly a responsibility for all stakeholders, from the government level to the family level. One initiative to diminish waste volume involves converting it into new goods, such as eco-enzymes. The community empowerment method, implemented through training, constitutes a public education initiative in waste management aimed at addressing the issue of organic waste. The training occurred in May 2023. The service results indicate that the training on eco-enzyme production in Pinang Ranti Village, aimed at utilizing household organic waste, was successful, yielding orange peel eco-enzyme products. The community exhibited considerable enthusiasm throughout the activities, and participants subsequently felt motivated to process organic waste. This activity is anticipated to be conducted continually and consistently by relevant stakeholders, particularly the government at both national and local levels

Abstract

Irrational drug utilisation has emerged as a global issue, with around 50% of medicationsbeing prescribed, distributed, marketed, and utilised incorrectly by patients. The primaryconcern with the irrational use of medications pertains to the inappropriate application ofantibiotics, which includes unsuitable drug types, incorrect dosages, prolonged administration, and excessive usage in non-bacterial infections. This syndrome induces antibiotic resistance.Individuals frequently use various antibiotics to address non-infectious ailments such ascoughs, influenza, and fevers without a physician's prescription, and these medications arereadily available at certain health institutions that lack comprehension of the requirements. Thisinitiative aims to inform the public about the hazards associated with the incorrect use ofantibiotics. This community outreach initiative involved counselling and video screeningsaround antibiotic usage in DAGUSIBU. We evaluated the activity's success by administeringpretests and distributing posters to the participating community. We determined the overallpercentage of individuals who could accurately answer questions. The data processing resultsindicate a rise in public comprehension and awareness of antibiotic resistance followingcounselling sessions.
