Abstract

The Student Executive Board (BEM) is an official student organization that holds a strategic role as a forum for aspirations, advocacy, coordination, and the development of student potential in higher education institutions. The election of BEM chairman candidates at Universitas Budi Darma was previously conducted manually, making it less efficient and lacking systematic evaluation criteria. Therefore, this study aims to design a decision support system (DSS) for selecting BEM chairman candidates using the Multi-Objective Optimization on the basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method. The MOORA method was chosen because it is capable of optimizing various conflicting criteria simultaneously. This study involved seven alternative candidates and seven criteria, namely leadership training (LDK), student activity, vision and mission, semester GPA (IPS), non-academic achievements, academic achievements, and semester level, with weights determined using the Rank Order Centroid (ROC) method. The collected data were then processed through normalization, weighting, and MOORA optimization calculations to determine candidate rankings. The results showed that out of the seven candidates, the best alternative was obtained by candidate A3 named Debby with a score of 0.4108. The implementation of this system proved to provide objective, fast, and accurate recommendations in determining the most suitable BEM chairman candidate. Thus, the MOORA method can serve as an effective solution to improve the quality of the BEM election process and support the enhancement of student organizational performance at Universitas Budi Darma.

Abstract

The teaching profession holds a strategic role in advancing knowledge and fostering student development. Budi Darma University, as one of the higher education institutions, strives to provide recognition to the best non-computer lecturers, evaluated through measurable criteria such as competence, research output, achievements, educational background, and disciplinary records. However, the similarity of qualifications among lecturers often creates challenges in conducting fair and accurate selection. Therefore, this study applies a Decision Support System (DSS) using the Multi-Objective Optimization on the Basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) method to assist decision-making in selecting the best non-computer lecturer. The research involved seven lecturers as alternatives and six assessment criteria, with weights determined using the Rank Order Centroid (ROC) method. The process included defining alternatives, weighting criteria, normalizing the decision matrix, and calculating MOORA optimization values. The results show that alternative A1, namely Suginam, obtained the highest optimization score of 0.6211, and was therefore designated as the best non-computer lecturer. These findings highlight that the MOORA method can provide objective, transparent, and systematic selection results in decision-making processes. Furthermore, this study demonstrates the flexibility of the MOORA method to be adapted to various selection needs in academic settings, particularly in improving lecturer quality and motivation through performance-based recognition.

Abstract

The development of information technology has encouraged the adoption of online learning systems with various face-to-face applications such as Google Meet, Zoom Meeting, Elearning, Edmodo, and Google Classroom. The diversity of these applications often causes problems in determining the most suitable choice because each application has advantages and disadvantages, both in terms of user capacity, visual interaction, features, application size, and internet data usage. To address these issues, this study implements the Weighted Product (WP) method as a multi-criteria approach capable of providing objective evaluations based on the weight of each criterion's importance. The analysis results show that user capacity is the dominant factor with the highest weight (0.37), followed by visual interaction (0.23) and user-friendly features (0.16), while application size (0.11) and internet data usage (0.07) fall under the cost category. The WP calculation yields preference values that place Elearning (A3) in first place with a value of 0.341, followed by Zoom Meeting (0.241), Edmodo (0.135), Google Meet (0.134), and Google Classroom (0.146). Thus, Elearning is the most optimal application to support online learning, while the WP method has proven to be effective as a decision-making tool in determining the best alternative.

Abstract

The development of the internet makes it easier for us to get information, we don't have to buy newspapers or magazines to get information. We only use various social media to get information easily and quickly. This online newspaper provides many benefits for us in getting information, but in getting information online we need to be careful because there are also positive and negative impacts in this online newspaper. Sometimes they provide information that is not filtered first and are wrong in providing the information and the news is not clear so that there are often promblematics for many people in reading information on social media. So in solving the problems that occur in the selection of online newspapers, several criteria are needed including Reputation & Credibility, News Content, Journalism Quality, Platform Availability and Interactivity Level. So that in solving the above problems, the author needs a tool to solve the problem, namely SPK. SPK is a computerised tool in problem solving using real data in order to get or obtain clear and accurate information results. In this study the authors used the WASPAS method to find the final results accurately. So with that, the one who gets the highest rank in the selection of the best online newspaper is Kompas.com with a value of 1 and followed by Detikcom with an acquisition value of 0.76032.

Abstract

The popularity of e-wallets in Indonesia continues to skyrocket along with people's digital lifestyle. Ease of transactions and various attractive promos are the main attractions. However, data security and variations in transaction fees need to be a concern. To help users choose the right e-wallet, the application of a Decision Support System (SPK) by considering factors such as ease of use, security, and cost can be an effective solution. This research develops a Decision Support System (SPK) using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. This SPK allows Punulis to compare and evaluate various important criteria in choosing an E-Wallet, such as security, ease of use, merchant support, transaction fees, and additional features. The SAW method is used to give weight to each criterion and produce the best E-Wallet recommendations based on the calculations carried out. From the results of calculations using the SAW method, an e-wallet ranking was obtained with Link Aja with a final value of 1.219 as the best, followed by iSaku with a final value of 1.008, and Jenius with a final value of 0.948.

Abstract

Teachers are one of the most owned components by the school in directing life, which is a challenge for the management of educational institutions to be able to provide an appropriate, effective and efficient decision in data management in the increasingly competitive business world spurring schools to work harder in improving the quality of their schools. So a decision support system is needed in determining the performance assessment of teachers in elementary or high school equivalent. And to determine who the teacher's performance at school requires criteria and weights in assessing it. To determine who is the teacher performance assessment, the Technique For Order Preference By Similarity To Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method was used. This method was chosen because it is able to choose the best alternative from a number of existing alternatives. From a number of existing alternatives that become the best alternative for the best teacher performance assessment in elementary or high school equivalent.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the quality of the best online newspapers using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. This method was chosen because of its ability to handle multi-criteria decisions by calculating the preference value of each option based on predetermined criteria. Online newspapers such as The Washington Pos.com, CNN.com, Reuter.com, Merdeka.com, and others are rated based on various factors, including content quality, update speed, and interactivity. CNN.com, Reuter.com, and Merdeka.com received the highest score of 1, while the lowest rating was with a value of 0,085. This research guides readers in choosing a quality online newspaper, as well as providing insight for newspaper managers in their efforts to improve their services. The SAW method has proven to be effective in conducting quality analysis by considering various relevant criteria.
