Abstract

The post-pandemic era has intensified the need for personalized digital education, particularly in non-formal sectors where adaptive strategies are critical to addressing diverse learner needs. This phenomenological study explores how online course institutions in Makassar, Indonesia, utilize artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics to personalize educational services, emphasizing socio-cultural and ethical dimensions. Through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis involving 15 participants (educators, administrators, and learners), the study reveals that while AI-driven tools enhance engagement through adaptive content and predictive analytics, their implementation faces challenges such as infrastructural limitations, generational resistance, and ethical concerns over data privacy and algorithmic bias. Culturally resonant adaptations  such as localized interfaces and virtual pattudang (community gatherings)  emerged as key strategies to bridge technological and communal values. However, participants underscored the necessity of hybrid models that balance automation with human mentorship, alongside decentralized policies to support equitable innovation. The findings advocate for community-driven approaches in Indonesia’s National Digital Literacy Framework, prioritizing ethics-by-design and partnerships between institutions, tech startups, and policymakers. This research contributes to global discourse on AI in education by highlighting the interplay between technological agility and cultural humility, offering actionable insights for community service (PKM) initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive, context-sensitive education in urban Indonesia.

Abstract

Every investment has consequences, so choosing wisely is crucial as it will impact the future. Greater accessibility to financial services and products for the general public may not always yield positive results, especially for younger generations who lack good financial management skills. The aim of this study is to examine how financial behavior and financial literacy influence the investment choices made by KIP recipient students at Universitas Negeri Makassar from the 2022 cohort. Using a quantitative technique, 100 respondents were given questionnaires as part of the research methodology. Multiple regression analysis and validity tests were employed in the data analysis, which was conducted using SPSS software version 30.0.0. The results of the study indicate a substantial positive correlation between investing decisions and financial literacy, with higher levels of financial literacy being associated with better investment decisions. Furthermore, it was found that students' investment decisions are significantly influenced by their financial behavior

Abstract

This qualitative study explores employee perceptions of company welfare programs within Indonesia's financial sector, focusing on a private banking institution. Through in-depth interviews with 15 employees across various divisions, the research reveals that while health benefits and work flexibility are highly valued, significant disparities exist between policy design and practical implementation. Key challenges include bureaucratic access barriers, generational differences in benefit preferences, and inconsistent awareness of available programs. The findings emphasize that organizational culture, management support, and effective communication are pivotal in shaping employee experiences of welfare initiatives. The study contributes to human resource management literature by highlighting the need for more adaptive, employee-centric welfare strategies that address both structural and cultural dimensions of implementation. Practical implications suggest organizations must enhance program accessibility, tailor benefits to diverse workforce needs, and strengthen internal communication to maximize welfare program effectiveness.

Abstract

This phenomenological study examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in Green Human Resource Management (HRM), focusing on the implementation of eco-friendly chatbots for sustainable recruitment processes in Makassar, Indonesia. Through in-depth interviews with HR professionals, recruiters, and candidates, the research explores how AI-driven recruitment tools contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing paper waste, optimizing energy use, and enhancing green employer branding. While findings confirm significant efficiency gains and ecological benefits, they also reveal critical challenges, including algorithmic bias, digital inequity, and the risk of depersonalizing candidate experiences. The study highlights the need for ethical AI design, contextual implementation frameworks, and holistic sustainability strategies to ensure that technological advancements in HRM align with both environmental and social equity goals. By bridging the gap between AI innovation and sustainable HR practices, this research offers practical insights for organizations navigating the complexities of digital transformation in emerging economies.

Abstract

The gig economy has disrupted traditional employment models, creating significant challenges for conventional companies in attracting Generation Z (Gen Z) talent. This study examines employer branding dilemmas through a Critical Theory lens, exploring power dynamics, structural inequalities, and ideological conflicts between traditional corporate structures and Gen Z's work preferences. Using qualitative data from Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with HR professionals and Gen Z freelancers, the research reveals a fundamental mismatch between traditional employer value propositions (job stability, hierarchical growth) and Gen Z's expectations of flexibility, purpose-driven work, and digital-first engagement. Findings highlight systemic contradictions in corporate attempts to reconcile rigid structures with gig economy appeal. The study recommends rethinking employer branding narratives to align with Gen Z's critical perspectives on labor markets, proposing hybrid models that blend security with autonomy. This research contributes to ongoing debates about sustainable talent acquisition in evolving economic landscapes.
