Abstract

This study aims to analyze the theories that explain consumer behavior and the factors that influence it in  the context of modern economics and marketing. The background of this research departs from the  importance of understanding how individuals make decisions in choosing and buying goods or services in  the midst of rapid social changes and digital technology. This study uses a library research method by  examining various scientific sources, books, and national and international journals published in the last  ten years (2015–2025). The results of the study show that consumer behavior is a multidimensional  phenomenon that involves the interaction between economic, psychological, social, cultural, and  technological aspects. Theoretically, consumer behavior is explained through cardinal utility theory,  ordinal utility theory, and inference curve theory, which describe how consumers seek to maximize  satisfaction with resource limitations. In addition, consumer behavior is influenced by internal factors such  as motivation, perception, attitude, and lifestyle, as well as external factors such as culture, social groups,  family, and economic conditions. The findings of this study confirm that consumer behavior in the digital  age is not only driven by economic rationality, but also by symbolic value, emotions, and awareness of  sustainability. This research is still conceptual, so further empirical studies are needed to test the  application of consumer behavior theory in different industry contexts. The results of this study are expected  to contribute to the development of management and marketing science, as well as become the basis for  companies to design adaptive, ethical, and sustainable marketing strategies.

Abstract

The study aims to examine the socio-cultural impact of digital on the identity and life orientation of the younger generation. Amid the development of information technology and social media, young people are often faced with social pressure, false standards of success, and loss of authentic values in forming their identity. This phenomenon shows symptoms of an identity crisis that is not only personal, but also systemic as part of a cultural shift. The study highlights how social media shapes self-construction, creates an unhealthy competitive space, and influences important decision-making such as education and career. This crisis shows that the younger generation is in a vulnerable position, both psychologically and socially. This study was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach, based on in-depth interviews with high school and college students in South Jakarta. The results show that the majority of respondents experience value disorientation, digital self-image pressure, and uncertainty about the direction of life. Research recommendations emphasize the importance of digital literacy, strengthening character education, and developing supportive social spaces to help young people build a healthy identity and a clear direction in life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of international trade on economic growth in South Sulawesi Province. In the context of increasing globalization, international trade has become a crucial pillar in driving local economic growth. Using time series data from 2006 to 2023, the analysis was conducted using a Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) approach to understand the relationship between trade activity and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth, as well as its impact on employment and community income. The results show a significant positive relationship between trade volume and economic growth, with sectors involved in international trade experiencing faster growth than other sectors. Furthermore, this study found that good infrastructure and supportive government policies play a significant role in maximizing the benefits of international trade. However, challenges such as commodity price volatility and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic also need to be addressed. These findings provide recommendations for economic policies to increase the contribution of international trade to regional economic development.

Abstract

Economic inclusion serves as a foundation for sustainable economic growth, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. However, many MSMEs continue to face limitations in banking access, financial record-keeping, and the use of digital technology. This community service program aims to enhance digital literacy, expand access to digital payments, and introduce integrated accounting systems for MSMEs. The program was carried out through training sessions, mentoring, and the direct implementation of digital payment applications and technology-based financial recording systems. The results show an improvement in MSME actors’ understanding of cashless transactions, business operational efficiency, and the quality of their accounting records. Thus, this program contributes to accelerating digital-based economic inclusion at the local level.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how the relationship between demand, supply, and market equilibrium is formed in a traditional market environment. The study used a descriptive qualitative method, conducting direct observations and interviews with traders and buyers at Makassar City's Central Market. The primary focus of this study was to analyze how market participants adapt to changing prices and economic conditions through social interactions and everyday experiences. The results indicate that price equilibrium in traditional markets is formed naturally through adjustments between the quantity of demand and supply of goods. When demand increases, prices rise; conversely, when supply increases, prices decrease. Other factors such as seasonality, purchasing power, and trust among market participants also influence price equilibrium. The conclusion of this study is that market mechanisms are influenced not only by economic figures but also by social behavior, intuition, and human experience in trading activities.

Abstract

Urban farming has emerged as a strategic solution to address food security and economic opportunities in Indonesian cities. Despite its potential, urban farmers face challenges related to knowledge, skills, creativity, and motivation that influence business success. This study aims to examine the effects of entrepreneurial literacy, farmers’ characteristics, creativity, and motivation on the success of urban farming enterprises. A quantitative approach was employed, surveying 421 urban farmers who were members of local farming groups. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results indicate that entrepreneurial literacy, farmers’ characteristics, creativity, and motivation each have a positive effect on urban farming business success. These findings imply that strengthening entrepreneurial literacy, creativity, and motivation among urban farmers is essential for sustaining business performance and long-term viability. Policy interventions that focus on capacity-building programs, technical support, and resource facilitation can play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness and scalability of urban farming initiatives, thereby contributing to broader economic and community development.
