Abstract

The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has encouraged the implementation of smart agriculture systems through the integration of sensors, communication technologies, and automated monitoring systems. Communication technology plays an important role in supporting long-range data transmission with low power consumption and efficient implementation costs. Two Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technologies widely used in IoT-based smart agriculture are LoRaWAN and Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT). This study aims to analyze and compare the characteristics, performance, advantages, limitations, and implementation of LoRaWAN and NB-IoT through a literature review approach. Scientific articles published between 2021 and 2026 were collected from Google Scholar, IEEE Xplore, ScienceDirect, MDPI, and Springer. The analysis focused on communication coverage, power consumption, latency, scalability, infrastructure requirements, implementation costs, reliability, and suitability for smart agriculture. The results show that LoRaWAN is more suitable for low-power and low-cost monitoring systems, while NB-IoT provides better communication stability and quality of service for real-time applications.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of telecommunication network architectures toward public cloud environments through a cloud networking approach. Although technologies such as Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Software Defined Networking (SDN), edge computing, and virtualization have developed rapidly, the integration of cloud networking architectures capable of supporting comprehensive multi-domain communication remains limited. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of publications from 2020–2024 to identify development trends, challenges, and research gaps in cloud networking architectures. The analysis indicates that multi-domain interconnection, particularly communication among cloud, edge, and virtual networks, remains a major unresolved challenge, while most studies still focus on optimizing individual components rather than comprehensive architectural integration. As its main contribution, this study proposes the Hierarchical Multi-Domain Cloud Networking Fabric (HM-CNF), integrating multiple communication mechanisms into a hierarchical unified system to enable more coordinated, scalable, and efficient multi-domain communication, supporting telecommunication infrastructure migration toward public cloud and providing a conceptual framework for next-generation cloud networking systems.

Abstract

Advances in information technology offer opportunities to improve the efficiency of data management and information delivery, including in the area of ​​boarding house rentals. In Penfui Timur Village, Kupang Regency, the process of searching for and managing boarding houses is still carried out conventionally, making it less effective in providing fast and accurate information. This research aims to design and build a web-based boarding house search and management information system to facilitate access to information for prospective tenants and assist boarding house owners in managing data in a more structured manner. The method used is the waterfall software development model, which includes the stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The system was developed using the PHP programming language and a MySQL database and can be accessed through a web browser. The results show that the system is capable of providing boarding house information quickly, structured, and easily accessible. Furthermore, the system helps boarding house owners manage data more effectively than manual methods. Based on testing results, all system features function properly, making this system a potential solution for improving the effectiveness of boarding house information management and delivery.

Abstract

The FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious international football competition, bringing together the best national teams from various countries. The 2026 FIFA World Cup introduces a new format featuring 48 teams, thereby increasing the complexity of predicting the eventual champion. This study aims to predict the winning probabilities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by combining the Random Forest algorithm with Monte Carlo simulation, based on national team performance statistics. The dataset comprises the 48 participating teams, analyzed using eight variables: FIFA Ranking, Elo Rating, win percentage, average goals scored per match, average goals conceded per match, goal difference, squad market value, and past World Cup performance. The data underwent a preprocessing stage—specifically normalization—before being used to construct the Random Forest model. Model evaluation results yielded an accuracy of 84.50%, precision of 82.30%, recall of 81.70%, and an F1-score of 82.00%. Subsequently, a Monte Carlo simulation was conducted over 10,000 iterations to estimate the winning probability for each national team. The results indicate that Morocco has the highest probability of winning at 14.82%, followed by France (13.97%), Argentina (12.76%), Egypt (12.03%), and Brazil (10.88%). The findings demonstrate that the combination of the Random Forest algorithm and Monte Carlo simulation can provide objective, data-driven predictions regarding championship probabilities for international football competitions.

Abstract

The advancement of cloud computing, virtualization, and distributed applications has increased the demand for scalable and high-performance data center network architectures. Traditional networks based on Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) have limitations in terms of segmentation and efficiency, making them less suitable for modern data center environments. Therefore, Virtual eXtensible Local Area Network (VXLAN) combined with Ethernet Virtual Private Network (EVPN) as the control plane has emerged as a widely adopted solution. This study aims to analyze the scalability and performance of the VXLAN-EVPN protocol in data center network architectures. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by collecting and analyzing scientific articles from various databases within the period of 2021–2025. The results indicate that VXLAN improves network scalability through the use of Virtual Network Identifier (VNI), while EVPN enhances the efficiency of network information distribution using a Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)-based mechanism. In addition, the implementation of VXLAN-EVPN in a spine–leaf architecture is able to maintain network performance in terms of latency and throughput. Therefore, VXLAN-EVPN is an effective solution for supporting scalable and efficient modern data center networks.

Abstract

The increasing complexity, heterogeneity, and large-scale nature of modern telecommunication networks require a monitoring mechanism capable of ensuring continuous network performance and service availability. Although modern approaches such as streaming telemetry and network observability provide higher data granularity, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) remains widely used due to its lightweight design, standardization, and multi-vendor compatibility. This study aims to analyze the role of SNMP in monitoring network performance and availability in telecommunication systems. The research employed a structured literature review approach by collecting, selecting, and synthesizing relevant studies published within the last five years. The results indicate that SNMP remains effective for monitoring key performance parameters, including throughput, latency, packet loss, CPU utilization, interface status, uptime, and fault notifications. Its major strength lies in supporting interoperable monitoring across heterogeneous multi-vendor infrastructures. However, limitations were identified in terms of polling scalability, data granularity, and real-time traffic visibility in modern cloud, SDN, edge, and IoT-based environments. This study concludes that SNMP remains strategically relevant as a baseline monitoring layer and is most effective when integrated with streaming telemetry in a hybrid monitoring architecture.

Abstract

This study presents a literature review on ranking-based performance indicators in the evaluation of 4G LTE cellular networks. Conventional network performance evaluation commonly relies on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, latency, and packet loss, which are typically assessed using average values. However, this approach often fails to represent the performance experienced by users under worst network conditions. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and highlight the role of ranking-based KPIs, particularly Rank2%, in providing a more representative evaluation of network performance. The research employs a structured literature review method by analyzing relevant journal articles from reputable databases published in recent years. The results show that ranking-based KPIs are more sensitive in capturing extreme conditions, especially for users experiencing the lowest quality of service. In addition, these indicators are closely related to Quality of Experience (QoE), as they better reflect user-perceived performance. This study concludes that integrating ranking-based KPIs with conventional metrics can improve the accuracy and effectiveness of LTE network performance evaluation.

Abstract

The development of 5G networks requires flexible mechanisms to support increasingly diverse and complex service demands. Network slicing enables the partitioning of a physical network into multiple virtual networks tailored to specific service requirements. This study aims to analyze the role of network slicing in enhancing service flexibility in 5G using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, focusing on publications from 2020 to 2025. The analysis examines key aspects, including network architecture, enabling technologies such as Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC), as well as their application in supporting various 5G service categories. The results indicate that network slicing enables dynamic and efficient resource allocation across heterogeneous services, improves service isolation, and enhances overall network management. It effectively supports major 5G service types, including enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC), and massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC). However, several challenges remain, such as end-to-end orchestration complexity, interoperability issues, and limited real-world implementation. This study provides a comprehensive overview of network slicing and identifies key research gaps and future research directions.

Abstract

The front door serves as the primary entry point to a home and is typically secured with a standard lock. However, such locks have drawbacks, including the risk of the key being forgotten or lost, as well as the ease with which standard keys can be duplicated. Without a CCTV system, homeowners remain unaware of which family members are accessing the house. This system utilizes the Telegram app to enable homeowners to identify family members entering the house. The multi-factor authentication system for unlocking the door combines image processing and fingerprint recognition technologies. It employs a webcam to automatically detect and recognize the user's face using an OpenCV-based algorithm, followed by fingerprint verification via an R307 sensor. An ESP32 microcontroller acts as the controller, processing authentication results and activating a relay to release the solenoid door lock once the user is verified. An I2C LCD displays access status, while a buzzer serves as an audible indicator. The system also features real-time notifications via Wi-Fi using Telegram, allowing homeowners to monitor access activity remotely. Test results demonstrate that the system operates effectively, providing a high level of security through two layers of biometric verification that are difficult to forge.
