Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of macroeconomic variables (inflation and the BI Rate) and company financial performance variables (working capital turnover and inventory turnover) on the stock prices of pharmaceutical companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The study used secondary data from nine pharmaceutical companies for the period 2017-2020 (a total of 36 observations). Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression (panel data) using SPSS 25, preceded by classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, autocorrelation). Hypothesis testing used the F test (simultaneous) and t test (partial). The results showed that all four variables simultaneously had a significant effect on stock prices. Partially, only inflation (negative and significant effect) and working capital turnover (positive and significant effect) were proven to affect stock prices. Interest rates and inventory turnover did not have a significant effect partially. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.416 indicates that the independent variables explain 41.6% of the variation in stock prices. Pharmaceutical company management needs to optimize working capital turnover efficiency and anticipate the impact of inflation. Investors can consider these two variables in fundamental analysis. Further research is recommended to add other variables and extend the study period.

Abstract

Unemployment is a major employment issue faced by developing countries, including Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the influence of regional economic growth and investment on the unemployment rate in Indonesia. The study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data, in the form of panel data from 34 provinces from 2016–2020, sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analytical method used is panel data regression with a Random Effects Model. The results show that, partially, economic growth has a negative and significant effect on unemployment, while investment has a positive but insignificant effect. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence unemployment. These findings provide implications for the government in designing policies to reduce unemployment by increasing quality economic growth and creating a conducive investment climate.

The method used is quantitative descriptive with time series data from 2013–2020 and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 25.0. The results show that partially, labor has no significant effect on economic growth, while unemployment and poverty have a significant effect. Simultaneously, these three variables have a significant effect on economic growth with a contribution of 55%. These findings provide policy implications for the government in designing strategies for labor absorption and poverty alleviation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of real earnings management (REM) practices on profitability and firm value. The study uses secondary data from 250 manufacturing companies listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Top 500 during the period 2017–2021. The research design used is correlational with a multiple linear regression approach. The analysis results show that the intensity of REM has a significant negative effect on firm performance as measured by Return on Assets (ROA) and on firm value as proxied by Tobin's Q in the following year. These findings indicate that REM practices not only harm long-term profitability but also erode firm value. This study strengthens empirical evidence regarding the negative consequences of REM and provides implications for management and regulators in order to improve the quality of financial reporting and protect stakeholder interests.

Abstract

Poverty remains a complex development challenge in many regions in Indonesia, including Rembang Regency. This study aims to analyze the influence of economic growth, the open unemployment rate (TPT), and the minimum wage on the poverty rate in Rembang Regency during the 2011–2020 period. Using secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), this study applies a multiple linear regression method supported by classical assumption tests and statistical tests (t-test and F-test) using Eviews 10 software. The analysis results indicate that economic growth and the open unemployment rate do not significantly influence the poverty rate. On the other hand, the minimum wage is proven to have a negative and significant effect, indicating that minimum wage increases contribute to poverty reduction. These findings highlight the importance of equitable wage policies as a strategic instrument in poverty alleviation, while also suggesting that economic growth alone is not inclusive enough to reach the most vulnerable groups. The implications of this research can be used as considerations for local governments in designing more targeted and effective policy interventions.
