Abstract

The aim of this research is, to determine the value of VO2 max which owned by the members of Indorunners community in Malang and Surabaya City. Besides, the high and low value of VO2 max assuredly depends on the variable of exercise, age, Body Mass Index (BMI), hospital sheet, occupation, and lifestyle of community members. This research is a descriptive quantitative research that uses survey method. The data retrieved using multistage fitness test and questionnaire. There are 50 subjects in this research; 36 men, and 14 women. The result of research shows that 50 community member can be categorized as; 3 members (6%) have excellent value of VO2 max, 14 members (28%) have good value of VO2 max, 21 members (42%) have enough or average value of VO2 max, 10 members (20%) have poor value of VO2 max, and 2 members (4%) have very poor value of VO2 max. Thus, the average value of VO2 max of running community Indorunners is fair. Moreover, the variable of age has dominant interrelatedness towards the value of VO2 max, according to both collation of the highest and lowest value of VO2 max with other components. While hospital sheet variable has the lowest interrelatedness towards the subject value of VO2 max. Therefore, the average value of VO2 max member of running community Indorunner in Malang and Surabaya city is fair. And the variable of age has the highest interrelatedness compare with other variables which influence the oxygen capacity value of VO2 max.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of relationship between physical activity and abdominal circumference with the incidence of hypertension in women in Malang Raya. The research method is observational using a cross sectional research design. The sample used is 100 people. The sampling technique was carried out by probability sampling or simple random sampling. The independent variables in this study were physical activity and abdominal circumference. The dependent variable is the incidence of hypertension. Respondents' criteria were having female sex, > 50 years old and having an abdominal circumference > 80 cm. Analysis of the data used is the Spearman rank statistical test. The results of the statistical test of physical activity with the incidence of hypertension resulted in a p value = 0.020 or there was a significant level of relationship between physical activity and the incidence of hypertension, with a correlation coefficient value of -0.232, namely the more often you do physical activity, the smaller the degree of hypertension experienced. The results of the statistical test of abdominal circumference with the incidence of hypertension resulted in a p value = 0.002 or there was a significant relationship between abdominal circumference and the incidence of hypertension, with a correlation coefficient value of 0.302, namely the greater the abdominal circumference, the higher the degree of hypertension.

Abstract

Metode pre-experimental denganmenggunakan desain two-group pre-test and post-test. Abstract

This research aims to find out what angles are formed in the hands, feet and vertebrae when smashing. Smash is a hard or slow ball hit as part of an in-game attack designed to kill an opponent and score points. In this study there were 40 populations and used 10 samples, with sampling using the purposive sampling method. This research uses direct measurement experiments using the Dartfish application version 6.0.10406.0. By recording samples when performing a smash movement using 2 cameras taken on 2 sides, namely the left side and the back side. In this research, we will analyze the movement when performing a smash using the Dartfish application version 6.1.11102.0. After taking measurements by recording the smash movement, then make observations using the Dartfish application version 6.1.11102.0. This research shows that the results of the analysis show that there are differences between the results of the analysis that has been carried out and the parameters that have been studied previously. This occurs due to various factors, namely the habits of athletes during training, differences in playing styles for each athlete, flexibility in each athlete's vertebrae, and also differences in arm and leg movements for each athlete. From this research, the average analysis results showed that the right foot angle was 66°, the left foot angle was 47.87°, the hand angle was 89.67°, and the vertebral angle was 30.08°.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effect of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on improving VO2Max among futsal extracurricular participants at SMA Negeri 5 Malang during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research utilized an experimental method with a one- group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of all 20 futsal extracurricular participants. Data were collected by measuring VO2Max performance before and after the intervention, with analysis conducted using a t-test and SPSS software. The results indicated a t-value of (6.588), which is greater than the t-table value of (1.729), with a significance level of (<0.001). This finding demonstrates a significant difference in VO2Max values before and after the HIIT intervention. The conclusion reveals that HIIT significantly impacts VO2Max improvement among futsal extracurricular participants. HIIT has proven effective in enhancing aerobic capacity through a structured, intensive training approach. This study contributes to the development of physical training programs, particularly in futsal, and serves as a valuable reference for coaches in designing effective programs to improve VO2Max

Abstract

Jumping ability is one of the main components in a volleyball game, especially during smash, block, and serve. Optimal jump height provides a competitive advantage, both in attack and defense. This study aims to determine the effect of pliometric depth jump training on the jump height of volleyball extracurricular participants at SMAN 5 Malang in the 2024/2025 school year. Pliometric depth jump training was chosen because it was proven to have an effect in increasing leg muscle strength, and explosive power. This study used an experimental method with a one group pre-test-post-test design. The population in this study were 10th grade students who were members of volleyball extracurricular activities at SMAN 5 Malang, with a total sample of 25 students. The training program was carried out for six weeks with a frequency of three times per week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. The vertical jump test was used to measure jump height before and after the training program. The data obtained were analyzed using paired sample t-test with the help of SPSS software. The results showed an increase in jump height after the subject received treatment in the form of pliometric depth jump training. The average increase in jump height was 3-5 cm. The statistical test resulted in a significance value of <0.001, which indicates the effect of pliometric depth jump training on the vertical jump ability of volleyball extracurricular participants of SMAN 5 Malang. In addition, the results of this study indicate that pliometric depth jump training can also improve athletes' body coordination, balance, and reaction time, which are important elements in volleyball. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the depth jump pliometric training program is effective for increasing the jump height of volleyball extracurricular participants of SMAN 5 Malang.
