Abstract

This study examines the relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) andeconomic growth and welfare in developing countries, combining a review of classicaltheory and the latest empirical evidence up to 2025. The study summarizes thetransmission mechanisms of FDI (technology transfer, capital increases, spillovereffects), assesses the conditions for recipient countries to optimally benefit from FDI,and evaluates the current macro context in which global FDI flows and those todeveloping countries experienced a sharp decline in the early 2020s. The results showthat FDI has the potential to increase growth and welfare but its effects are highlydependent on absorptive capacity (human capital, financial markets, institutions) anddomestic policies. Policy recommendations are aimed at strengthening domesticcapabilities, improving investment quality, and integrating sustainable developmentgoals.

Abstract

Infrastructure investment plays a crucial role in driving regional economic growth, particularly in developing regions such as West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province. Adequate infrastructure can increase productivity, accelerate the distribution of goods and services, and attract private investment. This study aims to analyze the impact of infrastructure investment on regional economic growth in NTB in 2025. The research method uses a descriptive quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the NTB Public Works and Housing Agency (PUPR), and regional financial reports. The results show that increased investment in the road, energy, and tourism sectors significantly contributes to the increase in NTB's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). Infrastructure investment in NTB has been shown to have a strong multiplier effect on the trade, agriculture, and tourism sectors.

Abstract

Advances in information technology (IT) are driving fundamental changes in business models, market structures, and economic governance in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the impact of IT on business and economic transformation in Indonesia by 2025, encompassing productivity, business model innovation, employment structure, financial inclusion, and data governance. The methods used include a systematic literature review and secondary data analysis (official statistics, international agency reports, and industry research). The results show that IT adoption accelerates economic growth through process efficiency, expanded market access, and a strengthened digital entrepreneurship ecosystem. However, significant challenges include the digital divide, cybersecurity issues, talent quality, and dependence on global platforms. This study recommends strategies for strengthening digital infrastructure, improving digital literacy and skills, accountable data governance, supporting technology-based MSMEs, and harmonizing regulations to strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of the national digital economy.

Abstract

The economic gap between urban and rural areas in Indonesia is a persistent problem, despite various development programs. This study aims to analyze the factors causing this gap by 2025, covering aspects of income, infrastructure access, education, and economic opportunities. Data used are sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Ministry of Finance, and World Bank reports. The results show that income inequality remains quite high, with a lower Gini index in rural areas than in urban areas. However, disparities in access to public services, digital infrastructure, and non-agricultural employment opportunities remain significant. Integrated policies based on region and people are needed to narrow this gap.

Abstract

Infrastructure development plays a strategic role in driving regional economic growth in Indonesia. Adequate infrastructure can improve connectivity, increase the efficiency of goods and services distribution, and encourage investment. This study aims to examine the role of infrastructure in regional economic development in Indonesia by 2025, with an emphasis on interregional connectivity, equitable development, and strengthening regional competitiveness. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive-qualitative approach. The results show that the development of transportation, energy, telecommunications, and logistics infrastructure has had a positive impact on increasing productivity and economic inclusion. However, challenges remain in the aspects of equitable development, budget constraints, and cross-sector coordination. This study recommends accelerating region-based infrastructure development and strengthening synergies between the central government, regional governments, and the private sector.
