Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop an accurate method for predicting the daily operation of power plants to support optimal scheduling of generation and maintenance activities. Methodology – An adaptive filter based on wavelet symlet (adaplet) is applied using the Normalized Least Mean Square (NMLS) algorithm. The model adjusts its coefficients dunamically based on historical operational data to minimize prediction error. Findings – The method was tested on Indonesian power plant operation data and achieved a Mean Square Error (MSE) of 0.079. Segment-based evaluation confirmed the model’s ability to provide consistent prediction accuracy across different time frames. Originality – This research introduces a novel approach by combining wavelet symlet and adaptive filtering in the context of power plant operation prediction, which allows accurate forecasting using limited data. Research limitations – The study focuses on short-term prediction (up to 3 days ahead) and does not include external influencing factors such as weather or system demand. Only the NLMS algorithm was utilized, without comparison to other adaptive methods. Practical implications – The proposed method enables operators to generate more accurate and reliable schedules, improving overall system performance and reducing outage risks. Social implications – Enhancing the reliability of power plant operations contributes to a more stable electiricty supply, indirectly supporting public services and economic activities.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to examine the interplay between promise, trust, and contract in cooperative game theory under conditions of moral hazard and information asymmetry. It seeks to identify how intrinsic promise-keeping behavior influences agent decisions, utility distribution, and social surplus maximization, with application to public–private contracting contexts. Methodology – Building on Chen’s (2000) framework, the study develops a cooperative game model applied to a case study of a local government–contractor bridge project governed by an incomplete contract. The model stresses a critical value parameter ( ) representing the contractor’s intrinsic utility from keeping a promise. A numerical simulation is conducted using hypothetical parameters to evaluate how varying  impacts contractor behavior (honest vs. cheating), parties utility, and social surplus. Findings – The simulation identifies a behavioral tipping point at , below which opportunistic behavior dominates, reducing social surplus and government utility. When  meets or exceeds this threshold, honest behavior becomes utility-maximizing for the contractor, significantly improving outcomes for both parties. Originality – The study’s novelty lies in simulating the behavioral threshold of the trust parameter ( ) within a cooperative game model, quantifying its impact on agent behavior and social surplus under incomplete contracts. Practical implications – The findings suggest that intrinsic trust mechanisms, such as long-term partnerships, reputation systems, and community accountability, can serve as cost-effective substitutes or complements to formal enforcement in incomplete contracts.

Abstract

Purpose – This study investigates the effect of green campaigns on green purchase behavior among female consumers of a cosmetic franchise in Surabaya. The campaign encourages customers to return used packaging as a form of environmental responsibility. Methodology – A descriptive analysis was conducted using data from 140 female respondents in Surabaya who were aware of the campaign and had made purchases in the last six months. Data were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS, focusing on the constructs of the Theory of Planned Behavior: attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control. Findings – The results indicate that consumers have a positive attitude toward the campaign and show a high level of perceived behavioral control, meaning they feel capable of engaging in green behavior. However, subjective norm scored lower, suggesting limited social pressure to act sustainably. Overall, the campaign was effective in encouraging pro-environmental purchase behavior. Originality – This study highlights the importance of clear and targeted green campaigns in influencing sustainable consumer behavior. By applying the Theory of Planned Behavior, it offers insights into how companies can enhance the impact of environmental initiatives in the beauty industry.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to identify and map potential risks in the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) supply chain, particularly in the context of global energy transition goals set by the 2015 Paris Agreement. With increasing reliance on LNG as a primary energy source to replace coal, understanding risks that may disrupt its supply is critical for power generation systems.Methodology – A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted by collecting and screening relevant journal articles from the Scopus database. The risk identification and classification were based on the SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) model, which categorizes supply chain processes into Plan, Source, Make, and Deliver. The PRISMA protocol was applied to ensure transparency and rigor in document selection and content synthesis.Findings – A total of 21 risk factors were identified and mapped across the SCOR model. The highest concentration of risks (11 out of 21) occurs in the "Deliver" process, including supply disruptions, delivery delays, demand uncertainties, and overreliance on LNG as a primary energy source. These interconnected risks can trigger ripple effects such as increased electricity production costs and even the collapse of power grids due to imbalances in supply and demand.Originality – This study contributes to the literature by systematically integrating risk factors in the LNG supply chain with the SCOR framework and highlighting the vulnerabilities in the delivery stage. It offers practical insights for stakeholders in the LNG and power sectors to develop mitigation strategies, particularly in anticipation of future energy crises linked to LNG shortages.
