Abstract

The digital disruption era has brought significant challenges to traditional educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools (Pesantren), particularly regarding the erosion of moral values and the shift in charismatic authority. This study explores the survival and adaptation strategies of PP Darussalam Blokagung in facing these challenges, focusing on the synergy between intellectual reasoning and spiritual fortitude. The purpose of this research is to analyze how the Kyai (religious leaders) construct critical thinking through traditional methods and build spiritual resilience as a mental shield for students against the negative impacts of digitalization. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, utilizing observations and interviews at PP Darussalam Blokagung. The findings reveal that the Kyai implement a "Critical Dialectics" strategy through the Bahtsul Masa’il tradition to filter information based on Maqasid al-Shari'ah. Furthermore, spiritual resilience is constructed through consistent wirid practices and the cultivation of qana’ah (contentment), which effectively mitigates the psychological pressure of digital disruption. Finally, the transformation of charismatic leadership into the digital realm ensures that the Kyai’s authority remains relevant and influential in cyberspace. This study concludes that the integration of classical intellectualism and Sufistic values forms a robust framework for Pesantren to navigate modern disruption without losing its traditional identity

Abstract

This research examines and tries to reconstruct the understanding and application of human gratitude. Gratitude is often forgotten in any situation and circumstance, especially when there is an abundance of blessings. Whereas if the sense of Gratitude continues to be realized and attached to the mind and soul, it will produce humanist silat both theological and social sides. Then this research serves as a complement to previous studies by discussing aspects of Gratitude that have been neglected. By adopting qualitative research, this study collects data from a predetermined tafsir, as well as in journals, articles, books and other relevant literature. And with the comparative method (Muqaran), this research reveals that there are differences in interpretation in Tafsir Fii Dzilalil Qur'an and Tafsir Mafatihul Ghaib towards Surah Baqarah 152 and Ibrahim Verse 7. This research proves that the differences in interpretation are caused by the background of the author of the interpretation and the social dynamics that overshadow it. Therefore, the explanation of gratitude can be drawn, namely gratitude is a dialogic process with Allah. So that if done daily, it is believed that it will feel closer to Allah SWT. And gratitude is also considered to have a humanist nature, because interactions and relationships with humans will be worth high tolerance.

Abstract

The discussion of Islamic politics remains a crucial issue due to the long-standing dynamics of debate within the reality of Muslim-majority countries. This article aims to deeply explore the transformation of Islamic political ideas and their utility in a modern context through a comprehensive historical review. The scope of this study encompasses the trajectory of thought from the classical period, rooted in the leadership of Prophet Muhammad SAW in Medina, to the development of the political spectrum in the contemporary era. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative research method based on literature studies and content analysis techniques, this article dissects various historical documents and the works of key thinkers to map the shifts in power paradigms. The research findings indicate that in the classical era, Islamic politics was understood as a comprehensive system uniting religion and state through the codification of fiqh siyasah, even as the leadership structure shifted from democratic to absolute monarchy. Conversely, in the contemporary period, Islamic political discourse has transformed to be more contextual and profane by integrating issues of modernity such as democracy, human rights, and nation-state sovereignty. The ongoing dialectic between past normative traditions and present-day needs forms a dynamic intellectual mosaic, proving the resilience of Islamic politics in addressing governance challenges both globally and within the local Indonesian context.

Abstract

This article analyzes the concept of the ethics of care within Amina Wadud's thought, not as an abstract ethical theory, but as a manifestation of practical theology that shapes spaces of autonomy and agency for Muslim women. Focusing on the practices of grassroots movements such as Muslim Women United (MWU) and Together Righteousness Unites The Hearts (T.R.U.T.H.), this study argues that the care work they perform constitutes a concrete form of Gender Jihad a transformative struggle for gender justice. This practice reconstitutes the central Islamic concept of mu’amalat (just social relations), while also functioning as a tacit corrective to the failure of patriarchal Islamic structures in realizing social justice. The article demonstrates how the ethics of care builds legitimacy through impactful praxis, creates an alternative epistemology grounded in women's lived experiences, and offers a relational, justice-centered, and sustainable paradigm of Islam. These findings underscore the importance of reading theology not only from texts but also from the bodies and actions of women in everyday spaces.

Abstract

The rapid transition toward Society 5.0 has introduced a complex landscape where advanced technology and human values intersect, often leading to ethical ambiguity in digital interactions. This study addresses the urgent need to reposition Islamic Legal Education not merely as a set of ritualistic rules but as a robust ethical foundation to navigate these contemporary challenges. The primary objective of this research is to reconstruct the framework of Islamic Legal Education by integrating the principles of Maqashid al-Shari’ah with modern digital ethics to ensure its relevance in a technology-driven civilization. This qualitative study employs a library research method with a philosophical-normative approach, analyzing various academic literacies concerning Islamic law and the characteristics of Society 5.0. The scope of the discussion covers the transformation of curriculum, pedagogical shifts, and the internalisation of prophetic values in digital spaces. The findings suggest that a reconstruction is essential through a paradigm shift from textual-formalistic learning to a more contextual-ethical approach. The study concludes that by emphasizing the protection of human dignity (hifz al-nafs) and intellect (hifz al-‘aql) within the curriculum, Islamic Legal Education can serve as a primary ethical filter against digital threats such as disinformation, cyber-crime, and dehumanization. This integration ensures that the advancement of Society 5.0 remains aligned with humanitarian values and spiritual integrity.

Abstract

The post-truth era is characterized by the dominance of personal opinion, emotion, and belief in shaping public perception, often overriding objective facts and truth. This phenomenon presents new challenges for Islamic studies, particularly in understanding and actualizing the message of the Quran amidst the rapid flow of information and disinformation. This article aims to examine the relevance of the contextual interpretation approach as an effort to address the challenges of the post-truth era. This research uses a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach to various literature discussing contextual interpretation and the post-truth phenomenon. The results of the study indicate that contextual interpretation enables an understanding of the Quran that is more responsive to social and cultural changes and developments in information technology without neglecting the basic principles of Islamic teachings. This approach helps avoid rigid textual interpretations and strengthens the ability of the community to filter information critically and responsibly. Thus, contextual interpretation has a strategic role in maintaining the relevance of the values of the Qur'an while also being an important instrument in building a moderate, inclusive, and truth-oriented religious awareness in the post-truth era
