Abstract

The phenomenon of weakening children's manners towards parents among Generation Z in the digital age indicates a communication crisis, emotional distance, and changing interaction patterns within Muslim families. This study aims to analyze the meaning of Quranic ethics contained in Qs. Al-Isra' verses 23-24 and contextualize them with the social realities of Generation Z. Using qualitative methods based on literature studies and a thematic interpretation approach, this study examines the interpretations of classical and contemporary commentators and integrates them with the findings of empirical studies and field observations. The analysis shows that the core values of birrul walidain, including ihsan (doing good deeds), the prohibition of harsh language (uff), qawlan kariman (noble speech), and compassionate humility, are facing serious challenges due to a digital lifestyle filled with instantaneousness, individualism, and screen-based communication. Phenomena such as neglecting communication, harsh verbal behavior, and the degradation of digital politeness reflect a disorientation of values in parent-child relationships. The results of this study emphasize the need to revitalize Quranic ethics through family education, digital mentoring, and the internalization of spiritual values in online and offline communication patterns. This study offers a framework for Quranic digital ethics as a strategy for reconstructing Muslim family relationships to maintain harmony, empathy, and compassion amidst the increasingly dominant digitalization.

Abstract

The study of al-dakhil in Arabic is an important aspect in understanding the forms of changes or additions of certain elements in sentence structure, both in grammar and in the study of Quranic recitation. The phenomenon of al-dakhil often gives rise to variations in form and meaning, necessitating research that can explain the concept more comprehensively. The research problem formulation covers the definition and scope of al-dakhil according to grammar rules, its impact on sentence structure and meaning, and its application in several narrations of recitation that indicate additional elements or changes in reading form. This study aims to outline the linguistic basis behind the emergence of al-dakhil, explain its function in Arabic sentence construction, and analyze examples of its application in recitations that have varying readings. This research employed a qualitative method based on literature review, examining classical nahwu literature, modern linguistic works, and qirā’ah books. The results show that al-dakhil not only functions as an additional element in a sentence but can also influence syntactic structure and interpretation of meaning. In the qirā’ah study, al-dakhil was found to be one of the factors causing differences in reading forms between Qur’ans, particularly in aspects of the ziyādah letter, changes in vowels, and certain morphological patterns. These findings confirm that the concept of al-dakhil plays a crucial role in understanding the dynamics of Arabic and the diversity of Qur’anic qirā’ah.

Abstract

Descriptions of the blessings of paradise are widely mentioned in the Qur’an in various forms, yet they are commonly understood merely as eschatological rewards in the hereafter. However, upon deeper examination, these descriptions are not only informative, but also contain moral and spiritual values that can be reflected as a foundation for happiness in worldly life. This study aims to identify Qur’anic verses that depict the blessings of paradise and explain how these descriptions can be reflected as a Qur’anic concept of happiness for human life in the world. This research employs a qualitative method through library research by examining tafsir works and relevant literature, collecting verses related to paradise, analyzing their meanings, and formulating the characteristics of paradise’s blessings—both material and spiritual. The findings reveal that the blessings of paradise are not only eschatological rewards, but also contain moral and spiritual messages that may serve as a guide for achieving true happiness in the world. Thus, the Qur’anic portrayal of paradise can be understood as an ideal model of happiness based on faith, inner peace, and noble character.

Abstract

The contemporary spiritual crisis, characterized by weakening faith, increasing secularism, and the erosion of transcendental values, demands the strengthening of Islamic creed education. This article aims to analyze the urgency of creed education through a tarbawi tafsir study of QS. Al-Baqarah (2):255 and QS. Al-Ikhlas (112):1–4 as theological and pedagogical foundations for faith development. This study employs a qualitative library research method using tahlili and tarbawi approaches, drawing primarily on the tafsir works Fathul Qadir and Al-Jami’ li Ahkam al-Qur’an. The findings reveal that both verses contain essential values of tawhid—rububiyyah, uluhiyyah, and asma’ wa sifat—which serve as a strong foundation for Islamic creed education in responding to modern spiritual crises. These values emphasize the oneness of God, humanity’s absolute dependence on Him, and the formation of holistic spiritual awareness. This article contributes to the development of tarbawi tafsir studies by reaffirming the relevance of Qur’anic monotheistic teachings as a basis for reconstructing contemporary Islamic creed education.

Abstract

As is currently the case, the majority of children cannot read the Quran properly. Even young and emerging adults still read the Quran without paying attention to tajweed and the correct pronunciation of the letters. This is crucial for maintaining accuracy and fluency in reading the Quran, as even a single error in the rules can alter its meaning and lead to sin. The problem raised in this study is how to improve the ability to read and write the Qur'an through local content learning to Read and Write the Qur'an at Ad-Dzikir Pragaan Elementary School, how to implement local content learning to read and write the Qur'an for students and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving the ability to read and write the Qur'an for students at Ad-Dzikir Pragaan Elementary School. To find out more about this research, the researcher used a qualitative research method with a descriptive qualitative type. Data collection in this study used 3 ways, namely interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study are that the learning implemented at Ad-Dzikir Pragaan Elementary School has been implemented since the beginning of this school, and there are several efforts made by teachers to improve students' ability to read and write the Qur'an. Namely; Accustoming students to reading the Quran while simultaneously researching the rules of recitation, encouraging students to check their writing, evaluating their Quran reading through memorization, encouraging students to write the Quran according to the letter placement, and emphasizing the memorization of the Quranic chapters (suras) and requiring memorization of the 30th chapter (juz') for final year students (grade 6). Of course, this approach has both supporting and inhibiting factors.

Abstract

This article examines the phenomenon of hail in QS. An-Nur/24:43. In the Qur'an, there is only one verse that discusses this phenomenon. This article reviews the thoughts of both a classical and a contemporary exegete, namely the interpretations of Fakhruddin al-Razi and Zaghlul Al-Najjar. Fakhruddin al-Razi’s interpretation has a diverse approach, including rational, theological, philosophical, legal, and fiqhi perspectives. Meanwhile, Zaghlul Al-Najjar’s interpretation follows a scientific approach. This article employs a qualitative method using a library research. It discusses the interpretations of Fakhruddin al-Razi and Zaghlul Al-Najjar regarding the phenomenon of hail in QS. An-Nur/24:43, as well as the similarities and differences between these two exegetes on this phenomenon. The research findings conclude that Fakhruddin al-Razi only explains the formation of clouds through water vapor but does not elaborate on the process of cumulus cloud formation that leads to hail. In contrast, Zaghlul Al-Najjar describes the process of cloud formation through water vapor, the growth of cumulus clouds, the formation of ice within these clouds, and the role of ice in the occurrence of lightning. There is a difference in writing methods and depth of explanation, as Fakhruddin al-Razi uses the tahlili (analytical) method, while Zaghlul Al-Najjar applies the maudhu’i (thematic) approach, focusing solely on scientific verses (ayat kauniyah). However, both exegetes share a key similarity in affirming the scientific miracles of the Qur'an, employing a scientific approach, and integrating Qur’anic science with modern scientific developments.

Abstract

Religious moderation is a fundamental principle in Islamic teachings that emphasizes justice, balance, and proportionality in understanding and practicing religion. This concept has a strong theological foundation in the Qur’an, particularly through the doctrine of wasathiyyah, which positions Muslims as ummatan wasathan. This article aims to examine the historical foundations of religious moderation in the Qur’an and analyze its implications for contemporary Islamic education. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research, combined with historical analysis and thematic interpretation (tafsīr maudhū‘ī). The data are derived from the Qur’an, classical and contemporary Qur’anic commentaries, Prophetic traditions, and relevant scholarly books and journal articles. The findings reveal that religious moderation in the Qur’an is deeply rooted in the values of justice (‘adl), balance (tawāzun), tolerance (tasāmuh), and humanity (insāniyyah), which were gradually implemented throughout the Makkan and Madinan periods. Furthermore, religious moderation has significant implications for contemporary Islamic education, particularly in strengthening inclusive educational paradigms, integrating moderation values into curricula and learning processes, and enhancing the role of Islamic education in fostering tolerant and inclusive attitudes within plural societies. Therefore, religious moderation serves as a crucial foundation for developing a civilized and contextually relevant Islamic educational system.
