Abstract

This study aims to comprehend the personal branding of Prabowo Subianto as a prospective presidential candidate for the 2024 election through the TikTok account @partaigerindra. The research employs a descriptive qualitative methodology. The findings indicate that the personal branding strategy utilized by Prabowo Subianto on the official TikTok account @partaigerindra, based on the eight personal branding concepts by Montoya and Vandehey, predominantly aligns with the concepts of leadership and personality. In terms of leadership, the TikTok account @partaigerindra effectively showcases Prabowo Subianto's ability to manage his authority to address public concerns. Prabowo demonstrates pro-people leadership in his roles as Minister of Defense and presidential candidate. Regarding personality, the TikTok account @partaigerindra portrays Prabowo Subianto as a leader capable of engaging with both the public and journalists through its posts, supported by approachable and friendly captions.

Abstract

This research examines the cultural communication of marsialapari tradition and values ​​within Mandailing tribe in Rabi Jonggor, Gunung Tuleh District, West Pasaman Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The research results show 1) The cultural communication process of the Marsialapari tradition is a series of verbal and non-verbal interactions between individuals or groups involved in the cultural practices. 2) The changes regarding attitudes in the marsialapari tradition of the Mandailing tribe due to the intervention of developed technology in the agricultural sector as well as agricultural land continue to shrink. 3). There are social values ​​within marsialapari tradition of the Mandailing tribe called "menoto" which can foster harmonious social relations and a system of mutual cooperation.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the dissemination strategy of Tribun Ambon news media to attract viewers and increase the number of viewers through YouTube and its graphic data as well. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection instruments employed in this study were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that Tribun Ambon news media implemented various strategies to attract viewers through online media, namely, (1) viral news content, (2) breaking news, and (3) the use of keywords or tags on Tribun Ambon's YouTube account. Through this strategy, there has been a continuous increase in the number of viewers of Tribun Ambon online media every month for the last three years (2022-2024). Tribun Ambon viewers increased by 8,390 visitors in January 2022 and 2024 have reached 344,000 visitors. Based on this data, viewers' interest in the videos presented by Tribun Ambon has experienced greater development

Abstract

This research aims to examine the meaning and process of cultural communication in the implementation of the yadnya kasada ceremony carried out by the Tengger people in the Sukapura area, Probolinggo Regency. This ceremony is a sacred tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation and is an important part of the cultural identity of the Tengger Tribe. The research method uses qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The results showed that the meaning of the yadnya kasada ceremony message communicated by the tengger tribe community by expressing gratitude to God Almighty in a series of rituals and the process of inheriting the meaning of the yadnya kadasa ceremony in the tengger tribe community. The values communicated by the people of the Tengger tribe at the yadnya kasada ceremony are divided into 3 namely social, cultural and religious values. These findings reinforce the importance of preserving traditions as a means of cultural communication that plays a role in strengthening the collective identity of indigenous peoples

Abstract

This study aims to examine communication patterns and barriers within the Dayamaka batik community in Gesikharjo Village, Palang District, Tuban Regency.  The research method used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the communication patterns in the Dayamaka batik community use primary communication patterns, vertical and horizontal communication patterns, the use of digital communication media, and communication patterns based on cultural values and local traditions. Meanwhile, the communication barriers that occur in the Dayamaka batik community are differences in the level of understanding and communication skills, limited access to technology and the internet, and social and cultural factors in communication. This study recommends improving communication and digital literacy and strengthening cultural values as efforts to improve communication effectiveness within the Dayamaka batik community.
