Abstract

This article comprehensively examines the differences in Islamic scholars' views regarding the limits of a woman's private parts during the proposal process in front of the man who proposes to her, with a comparative focus between the Jumhur Ulama and the Zahiriyah schools. This difference is rooted in the legal istinbath methodology used by each school in understanding the texts of the Qur'an and the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad. The Jumhur Ulama limit the permissibility of looking at the woman being proposed to the face and palms, while the Zahiriyah expands this permissibility to the entire body except for the major private parts. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach based on literature studies with ushul fiqh and comparative analysis. The results show that the differences in opinion are caused by differences in epistemological approaches in understanding the wording of the text, between the contextual and maqashid approaches and the literal-textual approach. This article emphasizes that the opinion of the Jumhur Ulama is stronger as a guideline because it is in line with the principles of sadd al-dzari'ah, maqashid al-shari'ah, and the social reality of contemporary Muslims.

Abstract

Maintenance is a fundamental obligation in Islamic family law, serving to maintain the continuity and well-being of the household. The concept of maintenance has a strong normative basis in the Qur'an, particularly Surah An-Nisa', verse 34, which links the obligation to provide maintenance to the husband's leadership responsibilities (qiwāmah). This study aims to analyze the semantic meaning of the word "nafaqah" in Surah An-Nisa', verse 34, and examine its relevance to the determination of maintenance in Religious Court decisions in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative method with a library research approach and was descriptive-analytical in nature. Data were obtained from the Qur'an, classical and contemporary commentaries, Arabic semantic studies, laws and regulations, journals, scientific articles, and Religious Court decisions related to maintenance. The results indicate that semantically, nafaqah means the expenditure of assets that is obligatory, ongoing, and aimed at meeting the living needs of dependents. This meaning is not only linguistic, but also normative and social. The relevance of the semantic meaning of nafaqah is reflected in Indonesian positive law through the Marriage Law and the Compilation of Islamic Law, and is concretely implemented in the deliberations and rulings of Religious Courts, both in determining maintenance for wives and children, and post-divorce maintenance. Thus, the concept of nafaqah in Surah An-Nisa', verse 34, serves not only as a theological basis but also as an operational foundation in the Islamic family law system in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze language disorders in children, particularly dyslexia and stuttering, from neurolinguistic and psycholinguistic perspectives. A qualitative approach with a library research design was employed by reviewing relevant books, journal articles, and previous studies. The findings indicate that children’s language abilities are closely related to the integrated functioning of various brain areas responsible for phonological processing, visual–auditory integration, and speech production. Disruptions in these neurological systems can lead to language disorders, especially dyslexia and stuttering. Dyslexia is identified as a written language disorder caused by differences in the structure and function of brain regions involved in phonological processing, resulting in difficulties in reading, writing, and spelling despite normal intelligence levels. Meanwhile, stuttering is a speech fluency disorder characterized by sound repetitions, sound prolongations, and speech blocks due to instability in speech motor control, disrupted speech rhythm, and inefficient speech feedback mechanisms. The neurolinguistic approach provides a comprehensive understanding of language disorder mechanisms by integrating neurological, psycholinguistic, and pedagogical aspects and serves as a foundation for developing more effective intervention strategies. Phonological and multisensory interventions are recommended for dyslexia, while fluency training, desensitization techniques, and emotional regulation are recommended for stuttering. Future research is encouraged to develop empirical and interdisciplinary studies to strengthen the implementation of neurolinguistic approaches in language learning and therapy for children.

Abstract

The issue of polygamy in Islamic law often stems from a partial interpretation of the Qur’anic and Hadith texts that neglects the socio-historical context of revelation and the complexity of their universal moral messages. This tendency has led to a polarized discourse between absolute justification and radical rejection. Departing from this problem, the present study aims to analyze the legal foundations of polygamy in a comprehensive and contextual manner in order to produce a holistic understanding and to propose an evaluative framework oriented toward the principle of justice. This study employs a library research approach analyzed through Fazlur Rahman’s contextual hermeneutical framework, involving a three-stage analysis: historical-critical examination, extraction of moral principles, and contextual application to key Qur’anic verses and relevant authentic Hadiths. The findings indicate that the legal basis of polygamy in the Qur’an and the Sunnah is ultra-restrictive, functioning as a conditional solution burdened by the requirement of holistic justice that is nearly impossible to fulfill perfectly. Consequently, its normative spirit aligns more closely with monogamy. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative synthesis that connects the internal dialectics of the texts, the evolution of juridical interpretations across Islamic legal schools, and contemporary principles of public welfare (maslahah) within a coherent analytical framework, offering a constructive middle path that remains grounded in textual authority while being responsive to modern ethical values.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of low student creativity in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at MTsN 1 Pasaman, characterized by teacher centered learning, the use of conventional lecture methods, and a lack of opportunities for students to actively explore. This results in low student motivation, understanding, and learning outcomes. The research aims to describe the planning, implementation, and evaluation of applying the Project Based Learning (PJBL) model to enhance student creativity in PAI subjects. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques of observation, indepth interviews, and documentary studies. The findings indicate that the implementation of PJBL through systematic stages from theme identification, project planning, collaborative execution, to presentation and reflection successfully created active, innovative, and student-centered learning. Evaluation through self assessment, peer assessment, and product rubrics revealed a significant improvement in student creativity indicators: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration of thinking. Therefore, the PJBL model is proven effective as an alternative strategy to overcome passive learning problems and enhance student creativity in the context of PAI.

Abstract

The balance between professional and personal life among educators has become a critical issue as teaching demands, administrative workloads, and technology driven tasks increasingly blur the boundary between work and home life. This study maps the development, intellectual structure, and themes of teacher work life balance research over the last decade using a bibliometric approach. Previous bibliometric studies on work life balance have generally remained cross sectoral and generic, with limited attention to the occupational specificity and institutional realities of teachers. Data were retrieved from Scopus and analyzed using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny in RStudio. From an initial corpus of 297 records, 160 publications published between 2015 and 2025 were selected through inclusion exclusion criteria and the PRISMA flow. The results show an increase in publication output, with a rise in 2023 and 2024 and stabilization in 2025, indicating field maturation. Frontiers in Psychology was the leading source, while the United States and China contributed the citation impact. Keyword co-occurrence analysis identified dominant themes including teachers, work life balance, job satisfaction, burnout, and stress, organized into five connected clusters, with survey and cross-sectional designs prevailing. This article uniquely contributes to education literature by offering a teacher centered bibliometric map that clarifies the intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and policy relevant directions of work life balance research. The findings position teacher work life balance as a structural educational issue, not merely an individual coping problem, and support institutional and policy interventions to manage workload, strengthen welfare support, and sustain teacher retention.
