Abstract

A hydraulic jump can be formed by the discharge flowing through the sluice gate. This phenomenon occurred due the flow transformation from subcritic to supercritic. The hydraulic jump can cause an erosion in channel base. In this experimental study the stilling basin is planned in sluice gate downstream. The triangular, trapezoid, and sinusoidal stilling basin have been installed to control the flow and the hydraulic jump. The objective of this study is to evaluate the hydraulic jump in the sluice gate downstream, specifically the height and the jump length. This experimental study result can be used as consideration in designing a sluice gate. In this experimental study, comparisons were made on several models such as triangular stilling basin (model 1), trapezoidal stilling basin (model 2), and sinusoidal stilling basin (model 3), with the original design (Model 0). The modelling results were then evaluated by comparing to indicators such as sluice gate opening height (Y1), hydraulic jump height (Y2), and hydraulic jump length (Lj). The experimental study result exhibited that stilling basin in sluice gate downstream can reduce Y2 and Lj. The more roughness the stilling basin, the more effective to control the hydraulic jump. Y2 and Lj decreasing value from first to third experiment, that result also affects the length of transition part for the supercritic to subcritic flow. In this experimental study, the largest Y2 reduction efficiency was obtained on the Model 3, which the originally Y2 value was 0.11 m to 0.075 m. The result from this 31.82% efficiency is obtained 0.16 m of hydraulic jump length (Lj) and stilling basin length requirement (Ld) in 0.38 m.

Abstract

Technological advances require the industry to use high-tech machines so that the company's productivity level increases. Technological machines make it easier for employees to work and can produce a better quantity of production compared to conventional machines. However, the existence of this machine has a negative impact on employees. This high-tech machine causes noise at the job site. The noise level that occurs causes health problems for employees, especially hearing health problems. This study is to determine the level of noise on hearing loss in workers. The population in this study were employees of an industry engaged in the manufacture of footwear products in Sidoarjo, East Java. This quantitative study uses the chi square test, 95% confidence level. The results of observations, there are 35 respondents (63.6%) have hearing loss and 20 respondents (36.4%) do not have hearing loss. The study also shows 38 respondents (69.1%) experience high noise levels in their workplace while 17 respondents (30.9%) experience low noise levels. The statistical test of the chi square test (X2) shows that noise intensity has an impact on the hearing of impaired workers. This is evidenced by the p value 0.000 which is lower than 0.05.

Abstract

In the implementation of construction projects, several stages need to be carried out before the main activities are carried out. Construction activities start from a feasibility survey on site, design, budgeting, construction implementation, and evaluation. In order to be able to carry out all activities, contractors need to implement construction management in order to ensure the work runs with minimal obstacles and achieves success. An important stage in construction activities is cost budgeting. Budgeting is structured based on the principles of effectiveness of results and cost efficiency. Some contractors always skip this stage because they have experience or carry out small construction activities. As a result, construction activities stopped temporarily and could not even continue. This study aims to determine budget management to perform cost calculations on housing development activities. The study was conducted in a construction project in Alana Regency Cerme, Cerme District, Gresik. Based on the calculation of the budgeting, it is obtained costing with an estimated value of Rp. 222,287,554.55. In the implementation of the construction obtained a total cost of Rp. 206,632,729.55. This shows the existence of a profit with a value of Rp. 15,654,825.00.

Abstract

This study aims to plan the structure of the Regional Financial Services Authority Office Building 4 East Java using precast concrete. The use of precast concrete is based on advantages in terms of economy, efficiency, speed of implementation, and energy consumption that have an impact on the environment. The precast concrete structure is designed by assuming the structure is monolithic cast in place. Precast elements require joints that function to transfer the forces that occur between elements. Planning refers to the guidelines that apply in Indonesia, namely SNI 1727:2020, SNI 1726:2019, and SNI 2847:2019. Based on the results of the analysis obtained the configuration of the structure, the dimensions of each structural element, and the connection between the structural elements. The connection uses a combination of dry and wet joints which aims to produce a monolithic structure. The connection between the column and the column uses 4 PEC® Column Shoe, the connection between the main beam and the sub-beam uses a combination of corbel, 2 BECO® Beam Shoe at the bottom of the main beam, and a rebar coupler that connects the top reinforcement of the main beam. The connection between the beams and the main beam uses 2 BECO® Beam Shoes at the bottom of the beams and distribution reinforcement at the top of the beams. The connection of the slab to the beam uses joint reinforcement at the top and bottom of the slab.

Abstract

The landslide occurred on the slopes of the Gandong Magetan River. The location of the river in the middle of the city caused landslides to almost reach people's homes. Efforts should to be made to improve slope stability so that it is safe against landslides. Slope stability analysis uses the LEM (Limit Equilibrium Method) with the Geoslope program. The results of the analysis of the slope stability of the existing conditions get the value of the safety factor of 0.379. Alternative reinforcement that is planned is the manufacture of counterweight slopes. Planning of counterweight slope embankment as many as 4 levels with a height of 3 m each level. The results of the counterweight slope stability analysis get a safety factor value of 0.507. The critical area is at the top of the slope so that soil nailing reinforcement is added. The results of the counterweight slope stability analysis with soil nailing and gabion reinforcement obtained a safety factor value of 1.507. So that the slope reinforcement plan is safe against landslides.

Abstract

The construction industry is a major contributor to pollution, resource depletion, waste, global warming, and climate change. The annual rate of road development has risen. In the process of creating a new road, emissions result from the manufacture of materials (asphalt, aggregate, asphalt mixture, and asphalt emulsion), the transportation of resources, the construction process, and the transportation of garbage. Throughout the life cycle of a project, the construction industry has adopted the notion of sustainability in order to minimize negative environmental impacts and improve social and economic well-being. Implementing a sustainable road is one of the measures taken to actualize the sustainability concept (green road). The aim of this study was to assess understanding of sustainable highways among stakeholders, including owners, contractors, planners, and academics/experts. The analysis in this study was carried out quantitatively and descriptively by using literature studies, RII techniques, and statistical tests. The results showed that the understanding of contractors and academics about the category of construction implementation activities and the category of pavement technology was still limited, while the understanding of consultants and owners about the green road category was quite comprehensive. Stakeholders have very diverse levels of knowledge in the category of construction implementation activities.

Abstract

The foundation is the most important parts of the lower structure in a building work. This is because the foundation has a function as a bearer and load-bearing that is above it. Therefore, careful calculations are needed accompanied by a comparative analysis of methods to get an efficient type of foundation. In this study, a calculation analysis will be carried out using the conventional method, namely the Mayerhof, Luciano Decourt and Reese O'Neil method to analyze the bearing capacity of the pile with two types of pile shapes namely circle and square accompanied by differences in pile dimension data 300 mm, 400 mm, 500mm and 600 mm with reference to the comparison of the foundation carrying capacity data with the PDA (Pile Driving Analyzer) test. As well as knowing the settlement of the pile foundation of the Joint Lecture Building and Laboratory of the FEB UPN "Veteran" East Java using the PLAXIS version 8.2 aid program. from the results of the study obtained the value of the bearing capacity of the foundation, the smallest deflection and settlement as well as the comparison of the BCR (Bearing Capacity Ratio) value close to 1, the foundation with variations in the shape of a square cross section with dimensions of 300 x 300 mm is efficient and safe to use.
