Abstract

The present research aimed at enhancing students’ participation and achievement in waste handling. This Classroom Action Research was conducted through two cycles, started from planning, action, observation and reflection. STAD was implemented in the learning process divided into four phases, namely presentation, discussion, quiz, and group reward. Data of students’ participation were gathered through questionnaire and observation, while the achievement was gathered through tests. The results revealed that improvement of the variables from Pre-Cycle, Cycle I to Cycle II existed. Students’ participation enhanced from 42,3 % to 78.74%. So did the students’ achievement from 71, 75 to 81. Hence, the implementation of STAD Model could enhance students’ participation and achievement in waste handling.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve students' self-independence and learning achievement through Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted with problem-based worksheets. This action research was conducted in VIID class of the State Junior High School 1 of Karangkobar in the second semester of Academic Year of 2017/2018. It was conducted through 2 cycles. Data was gathered through observation and test. Students’ self-independence raised from pre cycle (13.02), cycle I (17,09), and to cycle II (20.02). While the average science achievement score raised from the pre-cycle (62.90), cycle I (77.47), and to cycle II (80.06). Thus, Problem Base Learning Model (PBL) assisted with problem-based worksheets could improve students’ self-independence and science achievement.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research aimed to improve students' skills in installing the board through the Make a Match. It was conducted at State Vocational School 1 of Magelang in Academic Year 2018/2019. The subjects were 30 students of Class XII of Bangunan C. It was conducted through 2 cycles, each of which was carried out through 2 meetings. The method of data collection was done through observation of observations of student skills and tests. The results of observations showed an increase in the number of students who reached score criteria, from 21 students (70%) in Cycle I to 28 students (93.33%) in Cycle II. Tests results also revealed an increase from 23 people (76%) to 30 people (100%). Thus, the Make a Match technique can improve students' skills in the practice of installing a board.

Abstract

The prior study aimed at enhancing students’ achievement on competency in solving problems related to discharge units. It was conducted in Class IV SDN Cacaban 6 of Magelang in the first semester of the academic year of 2016/2017. A Team Accelerated Instruction was applied to learning as an action. Primary data related to students’ achievement were obtained through tests, while secondary data related to the learning process were obtained through documentary study and observation to support the discussion. The results revealed that there was an increase in students' understanding of the pre-cycle, Cycles I and Cycle II. The average score increased from 53.1, to 86 in Cycle I, and to 87 in Cycle II. Thus, the application of the Accelerated Instruction Team could enhance students’achievement in the discharge unit material.

Abstract

This research aimed at enhancing students’ writing skills through Triple-R Method. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in SMPN 2 Banjarnegara to 32 students of Class VIIC as the participants. Data of students’ writing were gathered through tests while the learning process was captured through observation. Then they were analyzed descriptively. The results revealed the writing skills increased from 63.59 in Pre-Cycle, 70.0 in Cycle I, ten 72.81 in Cycle II. Hence, Triple-R Method could enhance students’ writing skills.
