Jurnal Pengetahuan Sosial dan Sejarah (JPSS) is a journal of sociology and history, published by Lembaga Studi Agama dan Masyarakat Aceh (LSAMA). This journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3.5.0-1 system released on July 9, 2025 by PKP. Jurnal Pengetahuan Sosial dan Sejarah (JPSS) is open access and papers submitted will go through a double-blind, peer review process. Jurnal Pengetahuan Sosial dan Sejarah (JPSS) aims to communicate original research, current issues, literature studies, and history related to the subject. The journal warmly welcomes contributions from academics and researchers from the disciplines of sociology and history. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the history of changes in Indonesia's constitution and identify the factors that led to the change. The research method uses qualitative analysis with historical and normative approaches. Data is obtained from library sources through scientific reference applications. The results of the study show that constitutional changes in Indonesia are driven by a variety of factors, including political instability, the push for democratization, and the need for a more inclusive legal system. The most significant constitutional reform occurred through the amendment of the 1945 Constitution in the Reform era which resulted in fundamental changes in the constitutional structure. The Indonesian Constitution is predicted to continue to undergo adjustments to remain relevant and responsive to the needs of the community.

Abstract

The era of globalization brings challenges to Indonesia's national integration, especially with the rapid development of technology and the rapid flow of information. Cultural, religious, and socioeconomic differences are increasingly complex and have the potential to cause conflicts that can hinder the unity of the nation. This research aims to analyze strategies in strengthening national integration in the midst of these challenges. The method used is a literature study by collecting and analyzing various reliable sources related to national integration. The results show that the main challenges in national integration include digital access gaps, cybersecurity threats, as well as global cultural influences that can erode local values. To overcome these challenges, strategies such as equitable digital access, increasing technological literacy, and strengthening national values through education and social media are needed. In addition, collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the community is needed to build a collective awareness of the importance of unity in diversity. By utilizing technology positively and instilling the spirit of tolerance and togetherness, national integration can be strengthened to build a more harmonious, stable, and competitive nation in the era of globalization

Abstract

The repatriation of Indonesian citizens (WNI) involved in terrorism in Syria has become a complex debate in the realm of national and international policy. This issue involves aspects of national security, human rights, and efforts to deradicalize and social reintegrate. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the policy of repatriating ex-combatant Indonesian citizens, including legal, political, and socio-cultural considerations. The method used is a qualitative approach with literature studies and relevant policy analysis. The results of the study indicate that the government is faced with a dilemma between maintaining national security stability and fulfilling the obligation to protect its citizens. In addition, the challenges in implementing deradicalization and reintegration programs are crucial factors that need to be considered. This study recommends synergy between state institutions, civil society, and international organizations in handling the repatriation of ex-combatant Indonesian citizens comprehensively.

Abstract

The values contained in Pancasila include; religious values, kinship, harmony, populism, and justice. In addition, democratic values; the values of people's sovereignty, the rule of law, the guarantee of freedom, civil supremacy and equality of political rights. This research is a literature study (literature research) is a research that critically examines ideas, knowledge, findings in literature, field findings and documents, with a descriptive qualitative method. This research uses the perspective of Pancasila. The results of this study reveal the importance of implementing Pancasila democratic values in the life of the nation and state comprehensively, so as to create a clean government and a democratic system that is just and creates social welfare. The results of the study show that (1) The implementation of democratic values is carried out by including democratic values in the syllabus and learning implementation plan including tolerance, cooperation, freedom of opinion, mutual respect and trust. (2) The supporting factors are learning facilities, school culture and school leadership. The inhibiting factors are reduced parental support, the community environment, and personal differences. (3) The solution is parental awareness to pay attention to their children, community involvement, and establish good communication with students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of social media on adolescent identity. The method used in this study is a literature study approach. This research will collect and analyze data from a variety of literature sources, including journals, articles, and other publications relevant to the topic. The influence of social media on adolescent identity. Literature study will be used to identify, review, interpret theories, concepts, and previous findings. With social media, teenagers will be easier to develop, for teenagers to interact and communicate. Social media is considered an ideal place to try to find self-identity. The ease of access to social media, but you still have to be wise in social media.

Abstract

This research is based on the importance of strengthening humanist values in the Pancasila Democracy system which has often not been manifested in the practice of national and state life. The purpose of this research is to identify the principles of humanism in Pancasila Democracy, analyze obstacles in its application, and can strengthen human values in the Indonesian democratic system. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with literature studies from literature studies, journals and books on philosophy, education, and national thought. The main findings include that Pancasila Democracy contains humanistic principles, such as respect for human dignity, social justice, deliberation, solidarity, and political ethics. However, the application of these values is still hampered by weak character education, discrimination, and lack of space for dialogue. The results of this study  show that the value of humanism in Pancasila Democracy has a strong foundation, but it needs to be strengthened through a more contextual implementation strategy. His recommendations include strengthening Pancasila-based character education, bureaucratic reform, and building a space for social dialogue.

Abstract

This article reviews the pillars of nationality as an insight into the archipelago, the pillars of nationality are a pillar so that a society can be firmly established and can feel comfortable, peaceful and also prosperous. In the pillars of nationality there are four pillars of Indonesian nationality contained in Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and bhineka tunggal ika.

Abstract

Citizenship Education (PKn) plays an important role in building the identity and character of society in the contemporary era which is marked by globalization and technological progress. This article examines the urgency of Civics in the formal and non-formal education curriculum in Indonesia, exploring its meaning, objectives and functions in forming intelligent, responsible and integrity citizens. Through the Pancasila ideology approach, this education seeks to make the nation's life more intelligent and develop individual potential to become democratic citizens. In the context of the digital era, citizenship education is very important to instill the values of tolerance, love of the country, and awareness of the rights and obligations as citizens. Apart from that, Civics is expected to increase people's active participation in national and state life. This research confirms that strengthening citizenship education at all levels of education is the key to preparing future generations who are able to face social and political challenges, and contribute positively to the nation's progress

Abstract

This article discusses the role and contribution of Indonesian citizens in national defense efforts in the contemporary era. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. The results of the study show that defending the country is a constitutional obligation of every Indonesian citizen which is not only limited to the military aspect, but also includes contributions in the social, economic, and cultural fields. However, in the contemporary era, Indonesia is faced with several challenges such as radicalism, terrorism, corruption, as well as the impact of the development of society 5.0 and technological advancements. To counteract radicalism and terrorism, efforts that can be made are to implement the values of Pancasila in the life of the nation and state. In addition, the role of the media is also important in spreading messages of peace and stopping the spread of radical ideas. Meanwhile, to deal with the problem of corruption, supervision and accountability are needed in the government system. Overall, this article emphasizes the importance of the active participation of all citizens in efforts to defend the country to maintain the integrity and safety of the Republic of Indonesia.
