Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how the role of libraries and the perception of librarians in the BSC implementation at the Ministry of Finance and BPPT. The method used is qualitative descriptive to determine the role of libraries and quantitative descriptive to know the perception of library staff. The results show the role of libraries in the implementation of the BSC lies in the perspective of internal processes in the strategy map parent institution. Ministry of Finance library employee perceptions of the BSC implementation is still considered inadequate by a factor of resources (staff, budget, and facilities). While the perceptions of BPPT library employee against BSC implementation is still considered inadequate by communication factor (clarity and consistency), disposition factor (incentives), and factor structure of the bureaucracy (standard operating procedures).

Abstract

This thesis discusses information about women who were found in a news at one news portal online kompas.com. In this thesis, researchers only focus on a canal is namely kompas.com female. Researchers trying to analyze the contents of information on women in some news in kompas.com female canal in a period of and assoociated with the concept of patriarchal culture that can represent existence of women. The purpose of this research is to identify how information about women pertaining to patriarchal culture on the news in kompas.com female canal. This research used the quantitive approach with the contents analysis method. The conclusion of this thesis shows that there is a contradiction between information about women on news with the concept of patriarchal culture. Contradiction referred to are women make news at online media as a source of their inspiration in develop itself to live and work on their demand without any restriction and interdiction. It was obtained from news as presented in the period April in kompas.com female canal. This period chosen because in it there are special topic of news namely ”Kartini-Kartini Masa Kini” who researchers assume as representative of women nowadays.

Abstract

This study discusses the user attitudes in handling library materials. The study was conducted at the library of University of Indonesia. This research uses qualitative approach with case study. The data was collected by conducting observation, interview, and document analysis. The finding shows there are some of book mutilation and vandalism activities caused by users. This study suggests that the library needs to conduct a user preservation education program to prevent vandalism.

Abstract

This research presents about human resources at Special school of A Pembina Tingkat Nasional Lebak Bulus Jakarta. The purposes of this research are to describe the teacher-librarian motivation at the works and any factor affecting. A case study method is used in this qualitative research. The result shows that the motivation of teacher-librarian works based on his/her desire to make a better library. In addition, the factor which influence the motivation of teacher library based on achievements, acknowledgment, responsibility and their status.

Abstract

This study discusses the use of school libraries and the use of library clubs (books club) which is represented in the animated series "Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai” (A Good Librarian Like A Good Shepherd). This research is a qualitative research with framing analysis approach. The result shows that this animation serial represented school library purpose and utilization, especially in books club activities as one part of school library. The function and utilization of school libraries is represented through framing analysis tools. Framing analysis tools more focus on the metaphorical analysis contained in this animated series. The metaphorical analysis in this study is supported by story analysis, tradition analysis, slogan analysis, artefact or fact analysis, contrast elemental analysis in this animated series, prejudice analysis of the audience after watching this animated series, and analysis of the function and utilization of the library depicted in the animated series. These analyzes are assisted by the analysis of the idea elements contained in the animated series. In addition, in the animated series is shown the idea that the school library can be a center of activity in the school environment. On the other hands, in this animation serial showed an idea that school library can became a center-of-activities in school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe reading habits of elementary school student at Sekolah Dasar Negeri Anyelir 1 Depok Baru, Jawa Barat. This is a quantitative research with case study method. The data collected by distributing questionnaire towards 8 years old of 152 students at the particular school (total sampling population). The result shows that reading habit level of participants are categorized low. Less than 55% participants claimed they spent their leisure time for reading. This research suggest that parents and school teacher need to cultivate reading habit of the kids. Book habits among children also needs to be preserved as well as providing good children books.

Abstract

This research discusses the implementation of information literacy in Ministry of Education and Culture Library. The aim of this research is to identify the implementation of information literacy through their program which the library held annually. This is a qualitative approach with case study method. Collection of the data is carried out through depth-interview, observation, and document analysis. Results of the research show that the implementation of information literacy which held by Ministry of Education and Culture Library, planned to support one of their mother-institution’s program called Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS), also to introduce the information literacy concept to the student from elementary to the high school. The implementation program itself consists of some activities such as information literacy workshop, library tour, and an interactive game called ‘treasures hunt’. Although the program still simply packed, positive feedback came from the participant and the perceived benefits makes this program worth to be held again in the future with some improvement to make it more better.
