Abstract

This narrative literature review examines how trends, innovations, and challenges in educational technology relate to the transformation of Islamic religious education in Indonesia amidst the increasing integration of artificial intelligence and digital learning, an area where integrated studies remain relatively limited. Literature was gathered from Google Scholar, SINTA, and Publish or Perish. The initial pool of 72 records was filtered down to 33. This was done following title, abstract, and duplication screening. The pool was further reduced to 17 after a full-text eligibility review. This yielded 10 articles published between 2025 and 2026. These met the inclusion criteria for thematic analysis. The findings show that educational technology transformation in Islamic Religious Education in Indonesia is shifting from the use of LMS and digital media toward AI, gamification, learning analytics, augmented reality, virtual reality, and adaptive learning. Learning interactivity, flexibility, personalisation, and accessibility are enhanced by these innovations. However, researchers have only implemented them to a limited extent conceptually and developmentally, and there is still limited empirical evidence from classroom practice. Teachers' digital competence, infrastructure gaps, the validity of religious information, AI ethics, and the limitations of technology in developing students' affective and spiritual dimensions are just some of the key challenges. Therefore, we must integrate technology, pedagogy, teacher competence, and Islamic values in a balanced way to achieve transformation.

Abstract

Crypto-assets raise legal challenges for recovering terrorism-related property, particularly when assets are held in non-custodial wallets or controlled across borders. This study examines non-conviction-based forfeiture of crypto-assets as its principal object, treating jurisdiction and seizure powers as prerequisites to enforceable recovery. It aims to compare Indonesian and Malaysian legal frameworks and formulate an integration model compatible with Indonesia’s legal system. The study uses normative legal research with statutory, functional comparative and conceptual approaches. The model is developed by mapping existing remedies, identifying their limits, comparing equivalent legal functions and testing proposed rules against property rights and judicial safeguards. Indonesia already provides specific non-conviction-based remedies under Law Number 8 of 2010 and Law Number 20 of 2025; its problem is therefore fragmented coverage rather than a complete legal vacuum. Malaysia’s AMLA provides a distinct forfeiture route under Section 56, a civil standard of proof and express application deadlines, while Section 116B of its Criminal Procedure Code addresses access to encrypted data. These provisions do not themselves guarantee technical control over crypto-assets. The proposed model integrates existing Indonesian remedies through defined asset categories, proportionate access orders, asset-specific proof, coordinated court procedures and protection of bona fide third parties. Selective adaptation is a defensible reform option, although its operational effectiveness requires further empirical assessment.

Abstract

Generative artificial intelligence changes the production and circulation of terrorist propaganda while dispersing human involvement across content creation, editing, and dissemination. This article examines the boundary between artificial-intelligence-assisted terrorist propaganda, incitement to terrorist offences, and protected expression in Indonesia, and develops a proportionate attribution framework through comparison with European Union law. It employs normative juridical research with statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches and descriptive-prescriptive analysis. Article 13A of the Indonesian counter-terrorism legislation is assessed alongside general criminal-law principles, Directive (EU) 2017/541, and Regulation (EU) 2021/784. A 2026 CTED briefing on Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan is used only as a factual illustration, not as adjudicated proof. The study finds that Article 13A remains applicable because liability attaches to human conduct, but organisational nexus, intent, and individual contribution require separate proof. European Union law offers a clearer distinction between individual criminal liability and platform content-governance duties. The article proposes five stages: identifying content, classifying conduct, testing offence elements, examining context and rights, and selecting a proportionate response. Interpretive guidance and explicit safeguards for legitimate expression are prioritised over immediate expansion of criminal offences.
