Jurnal Pembangunan Pendidikan: Fondasi & Aplikasi (JPPFA) is interested in comparative studies that lead to new insights and challenge of orthodox theories; that have potential for policy impact; and that apply to broad range of settings, including industrial democracies as well as low and middle income countries, countries in political transition and countries recovering from armed conflict and social unrest. JPPFA also considers papers that look at education and development through the policies and practices of official development assistance and commercial education trade. JPPFA engages these approaches to deepen the understanding of the relationship between education policy and development.

Abstract

Pendidikan Islam merupakan wadah untuk memberikan pemahaman keagamaan yang inklusif kepada masyarakat yang akhirnya diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi pada terbentuknya masyarakat yang multikulturalisme dengan kehidupan yang harmonis. Pendidikan Islam yang dilakukan dengan benar tidak akan berbenturan dengan masyarakat walaupun dalam perbedaan karena perbedaan bukan sesuatu yang dipertentangkan tetapi dicarikan solusi untuk saling memahami. Agama tidak lagi hanya untuk kebaikan individu tetapi agama harus mampu mewujudkan rahmat bagi seluruh alam. Konsep pendidikan multikultural dalam Islam setidaknya menyangkut empat hal, yaitu: konsep kesamaan (as-sawiyah), konsep keadilan (al-‘adalah), konsep kebebasan atau kemerdekaan (al-hurriyah), dan konsep toleransi (tasamuh). Adanya konsep ini berfungsi sebagai transfer of values dan memberikan kontribusi dalam pembentukan peradaban yang Islami menuju masyarakat yang baldatun thayyibatun wa rabbun ghafur. Peran Pendidikan Agama Islam dalam membangun wawasan multikultural khususnya bagi taruna taruni di SMK Negeri 4 Purworejo dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap yaitu: perencanaan, proses pembelajaran, evaluasi, dan pengembangan diri.Kata kunci: peran pendidikan agama islam, pendidikan multikultural THE ROLE OF ISLAMIC RELIGION EDUCATION IN BUILDING MULTICULTURAL INSIGHTS IN STATE 4 VOCATIONAL SCHOOL, PURWOREJOAbstractIslamic education is a forum to provide a religious understanding that is inclusive of the community which is ultimately expected to contribute to the formation of a multicultural society with a harmonious life. Islamic education that is carried out correctly will not clash with the community even though in differences because differences are not something that is contested but a solution is found to understand each other. Religion is no longer just for the good of the individual but religion must be able to realize grace for all nature. The concept of multicultural education in Islam involves at least four things, namely: the concept of equality (as-sawiyah), the concept of justice (al-‘is), the concept of freedom or al-hurriyah, and the concept of tolerance (tasamuh). The existence of this concept functions as a transfer of values and contributes to the formation of an Islamic civilization towards a society that is baldatun thayyibatun wa rabbun ghafur. The role of Islamic Education in building multicultural insight, especially for cadets at the SMK Negeri 4 Purworejo, is carried out through several stages, namely: planning, learning, evaluation, and self-development.Keywords: the role of Islamic religious education, multicultural education

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk menghasilkan lembar kerja siswa tematik integratif berbasis Problem Based Learning yang layak untuk meningkatkan karakter tanggung jawab siswa kelas IV SD, dan menguji keefektifannya. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah desain RD Borg dan Gall. Penelitian dilakukan di SDN Semanu III, SDN Karangrejek II, dan SDN Gombang II, Kabupaten Gunungkidul. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan pedoman wawancara, lembar observasi, lembar validasi ahli, angket respon guru, skala respon siswa, dan skala karakter tanggung jawab. Keefektifan produk diuji melalui quasi experiment. Data dianalisis secara despkriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif melalui uji beda dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini berupa lembar kerja siswa yang layak digunakan berdasarkan penilaian ahli media dan ahli materi dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Produk yang dikembangkan efektif meningkatkan karakter tanggung jawab siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan uji beda postskala kelas eksperimen 1 dengan kelas kontrol perbedaan reratanya signifikan pada nilai t hitung 2,119 dan two-tails significance pada 0,040. Pada uji beda post skala kelas eksperimen 2 dengan kelas kontrol, perbedaan reratanya signifikan pada nilai t hitung 2,164 dan two-tails significance pada 0,036 dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05.Kata kunci: lembar kerja siswa tematik integratif, problem based learning, karakter tanggung jawab STUDENT WORK SHEET BASED ON THE PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TO IMPROVE RESPONSIBILITY STUDENTS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOLAbstractThis study aimed at producing a suitable thematic-integrative student work sheet based on the Problem Based Learning to improve the critical thinking ability and responsibility character of grade IV students of SD, and testing the effectiveness of student work sheet. This study used the RD design of Borg and Gall. The study was conducted at SDN Semanu III, SDN Karangrejek II, and SDN Gombang II, Gunungkidul Regency. The instrument data were collected using an interview guide, observation sheet, validation expert sheet, questionnaires of teachers responses, scale of students responses, and scale of responsibility character. The product effectiveness was tested by using a quasi experiment. The data were analyzed descriptive-qualitatively and quantitatively through  t  test  with the a significance level of 0,05. This research produced a student work sheet suitable for use based on assessment by media and subject matter experts with “very good” category. The product could improve the responsibility character of students. The mean score difference was significant at 2.119 t test value  with the two-tails significance standing at 0.040 for t test of the experimental group 1 with the control group.  On the t test of the experimental group 2 with the control group, the mean score difference was significant at 2.164 t test value  with the two-tails significance standing at 0.036 with the a significance level of 0.05.Keywords: Thematic-integrative student work sheet, Problem Based Learning, responsibility character

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi program 5 hari sekolah sebagai upaya mengembangkan pendidikan karakter pada siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi kebijakan lima hari sekolah dilaksanakan dengan mengintegrasikan karakter pada kegiatan intrakurikuler, kokurikuler dan ekstrakurikuler. Kegiatan untuk mendukung pengembangan pendidikan karakter yaitu melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler yaitu keagamaan, pengamalan nilai-nilai Pancasila, budaya kemataraman, dan kepramukaan. Kegiatan lain yang mendukung pengembangan pendidikan karakter yaitu melalui kegiatan pembiasaan. Hambatan yang dialami dalam implementasi kebijakan lima hari sekolah yaitu pendanaan untuk kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, keadaan siswa, dan tenaga pendidik.Kata kunci: kebijakan lima hari sekolah, pendidikan karakter IMPLEMENTATION OF FIVE DAY SCHOOL POLICIES AS A MEANS OF CHARACTER EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT IN BASIC SCHOOLAbstractThis study aims to determine the implementation of the program 5 days of school as an effort to develop character education in primary school students. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the five-day school policy is carried out by integrating the characters in the intracurricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Activities to support the development of character education through extracurricular activities that are religious, practice the values of Pancasila, culture kemataraman, and scouting. Other activities that support the development of character education are through habituation activities. Obstacles experienced in the implementation of the five-day school policy are funding for extracurricular activities, the condition of students, and educators.Keywords: five days school policies, character education

Abstract

Menanamkan kesadaran multikultural kepada semua lapisan masyarakat menjadi sangat penting. Arus perkembangan gobalisasi yang semakin gencar menerobos batas ruang budaya di Indonesia maka sudah waktunya pendidikan di Indonesia saat ini memberikan tawaran-tawaran yang mencerdaskan antara lain dengan menciptakan desain materi, metode hingga kurikulum yang mampu menyadarkan masyarakat akan pentingnya sikap saling tolong menolong, toleransi dan menghormati segala perbedaan suku, agama, ras, etnis dan budaya masyarakat Indonesia yang multikultur. Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Kebumen sebagai pendidikan menengah atas yang bercirikan agama Islam memiliki peran yang sangat strategis mengingat basis siswanya memiliki latar belakang yang sangat variatif. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif maka penulisan artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran melalui content analysis perihal materi dalam akidah dan akhlak yang dapat diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pendidikan multikultural. Dari hasil analysis dapat dijelaskan bahwa sub materi yang menyangkut penanaman akidah atau tauhid tidak dapat diajarkan dengan menggunakan keempat model pendidikan multikultural: Model Hubungan antargroup (Sintesis Belajar dan Mengajar Pluralistik), Model Manajemen Kelas dan Strategi Hak Asasi Manusia, Model Pembelajaran Dua Bahasa, Model Studi Etnis. Submateri akidah memiliki karakter yang bersifat pasti dan tidak bisa ditawar. Sedangkan model-model tersebut lebih tepat digunakan pada submateri akhlak mengingat budaya masing-masing siswa memiliki perbedaan yang cukup signifikan.Kata kunci: Pendidikan multikultural, akidah akhlak MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION AT MADRASAH ALIYAH 2 KEBUMENAbstractInstilling multicultural awareness with all levels of society is very important. The current development of globalization is increasingly intrusive breaking through the boundaries of cultural space in Indonesia, so it is time for education in Indonesia to provide intellectual offerings, among others by creating material designs, methods to curricula that can sensitize the public to the mutual help, tolerance and respect all differences in ethnic, religious, racial, ethnic and cultural cultures of Indonesian people are multicultural. Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Kebumen as senior secondary education characterized by Islam has a very strategic role considering the student base has a very varied background. By using a qualitative approach, the writing of this article aims to get an overview through content analysis about the material in aqidah and akhlak that can be taught using a multicultural education model. From the results of the analysis, it can be explained that the sub-material concerning the cultivation of aqidah cannot be taught using the four multicultural education models: Intergroup Relations Model (Pluralistic Learning and Teaching Synthesis), Class Management Models and Human Rights Strategies, Two-Language Learning Models, Models Ethnic Studies. Aqidah submaterial has definite character and is not negotiable. Whereas the models are more appropriate to be used in moral teaching given that each student's culture has a significant difference.Keywords: Multicultural Education, akidah akhlak

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Perangkat Pembelajaran Tematik Integratif Berbasis Inkuiri yang layak untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan tanggung jawab siswa serta menguji keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (RD). Desain penelitian yang digunakan mengacu pada desain Borg Gall, yaitu: (1) research and information collection, (2) planning, (3) develop preliminary form of product, (4) preliminary field testing, (5) main product revision, (6) main field testing ,(7) operational product revision, (8) operational field testing, (9) final product revision, dan (10) dissemination and implementation. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa dan guru kelas IV SD N Grindang, SD N Pucanggading, SD N Gunung Agung, dan SD N Sangon. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, angket, dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Perangkat pembelajaran tematik integratif berbasis inkuiri yang dihasilkan layak untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan tanggung jawab siswa, (2) Perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan tanggung jawab siswa.Kata kunci: perangkat pembelajaran tematik integratif, inkuiri, kemampuan berpikir kritis, tanggung jawab DEVELOPING AN INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING KIT FOR IMPROVING THE CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY ON INTEGRATIVE THEMATIC LEARNING AbstractThis study aims to produce an inquiry-based integrative thematic learning kit for improve the critical thinking skills and responsibility of students and to reveal the effectiveness of the developed learning kit. This research was research and development (R D). The research design used the design of Borg Gall, namely: (1) research and information gathering, (2) planning, (3) developing initial product forms, (4) preliminary field testing, (5) product revisions main, (6) main field testing, (7) revision of operational products, (8) operational field trials, (9) final product revisions, and (10) dissemination and implementation. The subjects were the fourth grade students and teachers of State Elementary School  SD N Grindang, SD N Pucanggading, SD N Gunung Agung, and SD N Sangon. The data were obtained through interviews, questionnaires, and tests. The results are as follow (1) the developed inquiry-based integrative thematic learning kit can be used to improve critical the thinking skills and responsibility of student, (2) The developed learning kit is effective in improving the student critical thinking skills and responsibility.Keywords: integrative thematic learning devices, inquiry, critical thinking skills, responsibility

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui muatan pendidikan kewarganegaraan di lingkup siswa sekolah dasar sebagai upaya membelajarkan civic knowledge, civic skills, dan civic dispositions. Penelitian ini merupakan studi literature yang membahas pentingnya muatan pendidikan kewarganegaran di lingkup siswa sekolah dasar sebagai upaya membelajarkan civic knowledge, civic skills, dan civic dispositions. Muatan pendidikan kewarganegaraan terutama di lingkup siswa sekolah dasar menjadi kunci penting dalam memberikan pemahaman kepada siswa akan pentingnya konsep kewarganegaraan, menumbuhkan pengetahuan tentang bernegara, keterampilan bernegara, serta karakter bernegara. Hasil studi yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa muatan pendidikan kewarganegaraan menjadi salah satu alternatif cara dari pemerintan dalam mempersiapkan siswa menjadi warga negara yang aktif.Kata kunci: pendidikan kewarganegaraan, sekolah dasar, warga negara yang aktif THE CONTENT OF CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION AS AN EFFORT TO LEARN CIVIC KNOWLEDGE, CIVIC SKILLS, AND CIVIC DISPOSITION IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AbstractThis study aimed to determine the urgency of the content of citizenship education in the scope of elementary school students. This research was a literature study that discussed the importance of the content of citizenship education in the scope of elementary school students as an effort to learn civic knowledge, civic skills, and civic dispositions. The content of citizenship education,  especially in the scope of elementary school students was an important key in providing students with an understanding of the importance of the concept of citizenship, fostering knowledge about the state, state skills, and character of the state. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis Problem-Based Learning yang layak digunakan, (2) mengungkapkan efektifitas perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan tersebut dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini menggunakan model yang dikembangkan oleh Borg dan Gall yang terdiri dari 10 langkah. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Piyungan. Subjek uji coba dalam penelitian adalah guru dan siswa kelas tiga. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, angket validasi, angket respon, tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif, dan dianalisis menggunakan independent t-test dan paired sample t-test dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) berdasarkan penilaian ahli, silabus dengan rerata skor 4,3, rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan rerata skor 4,5, lembar kerja siswa dengan rerata skor 4,6, dan buku ajardengan rerata skor 4,4 masuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Instrument penilaian dengan rerata skor 4,1 masuk dalam kategori layak. (2) Ada perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa di kelas eksperimen dengan nilai signifikansi 0,05.Kata kunci:problem-based learning, berpikir kreatif, pemecahan masalah INSTRUCTIONAL KIT BASED ON PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TO IMPROVE CREATIVE THINKING ABILITY IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLAbstractThis study aims: (1) to develop a suitable instructional kit based on Problem-Based Learning, and (2) to reveal the effectiveness of the develop instructional kit in improving creative thinking ability. This study was research and development using model developed by Borg and Gall consisting of 10 steps. It was conducted at Elementary School Piyungan. The subjects were teachers and grade III students. The data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and tests and analysed using the independent t-test and paired sample t-test at significance level of 0.05. The result of this study showed that(1)  based on expert judgment, the syllabus had a mean score 4.3, the lesson plan had a mean score 4.5, the student worksheet had a mean score 4.6, and the instructional textbook had a mean score 4.4 was in good category while the assessment instruments had a mean score 4.1 was in very good category. There were significant differences of the treatment classes using the product in improving creative thinking ability of students with the score of  p0,05.Keywords: problem-based learning, creative thinking, problem solving

Abstract

Pendidikan multikultural yang diintegrasikan dalam pendidikan formal di sekolah urgen diterapkan di Indonesia mengingat keragaman budaya yang dimilikinya. Sekolah hendaknya menjadi wadah yang efektif bagi penanaman sikap multikultural siswa sebagai generasi penerus bangsa. Akan tetapi dalam kenyataannya, sekolah masih belum mampu secara efektif menumbuhkan jiwa multikultural siswa terbukti dengan maraknya fenomena perkelahian antar pelajar. Disisi lain, kepala sekolah merupakan ujung tombak dan pelopor bagi penciptaaan lingkungan dan budaya multikultural dalam sekolah. Artikel ini membahas tentang model kepemimpinan sekolah yang diharapkan dapat merancang, menumbuhkan, mengimplementasikan dan memelihara budaya multikultural di sekolah yang pada gilirannya dapat membentuk pribadi-pribadi siswa yang ramah dan menghargai perbedaan dan keragaman. Kesimpulan dalam artikel ini menyatakan bahwa model kepemimpinan transformasional diharapkan dapat membawa perubahan, menginspirasi sekaligus menjadi role model bagi terciptanya budaya yang menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai persatuan dalam keragaman yang sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan multikultural di Indonesia.Kata kunci: kepemimpinan transformasional, kepala sekolah, pendidikan multikultural SCHOOL LEADERSHIP BASED ON MULTICULTURAL EDUCATIONAbstractConsidering the massive diversity of Indonesian cultures, multicultural education integrated within schools as the arrangement of formal education is urgently implemented. Preferably, schools should develop into an effective place for building students’ multicultural attitude. However, it is a contrasting fact that schools have not been able to effectively establish students’ awareness of multicultural reality. This is evidenced by the growing number of students’ brawls taking place throughout Indonesia. Nonetheless, school’ principal is expected to be the pioneer in creating values and practices of multiculturalism in school context.  This paper discusses the anticipated model of school leadership that likely to be able to design, build, implement, and foster multiculturalism in school which further develops into shaping students’ attitude demonstrating high respect toward pluralism and diversity. It is concluded that transformational leadership is expected to make changes, inspire as well as be the role model for the creation of multiculturalism appreciating the value of unity among diversity appropriate to the purpose of multicultural education in Indonesia.Keywords: transformational leadership, school principal, multicultural education

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengungkapkan: (1)program full day school, (2)pembelajaran full day school berdasarkan konsep pendidikan gaya bank Paulo Freire, (3)reaksi siswa terhadap pembel-ajaran full day school berdasarkan konsep pendidikan gaya bank Paulo Freire di SD Muhammadiyah Gunungpring. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis ethnografi. Unit analisis berupa kegiatan pembelajaran di kelas serta kegiatan di luar pembelajaran di SD Muhammadiyah Gunungpring. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa SD Muhammadiyah Gunungpring. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis yang diguna-kan yaitu model Miles dan Huberman, yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1)Program full day school merupakan program sekolah yang berlangsung dari pagi hingga sore hari karena diberi tambahan materi yang sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan sekolah tersebut; (2) terjadi praktik pembelajaran dominatif dalam full day school di SD Muhammadiyah Gunungpring. Praktik dominasi ditunjukkan dalam metode pembelajaran yang berpusat pada guru. Guru menetapkan aturan-aturan yang harus dipatuhi siswa yang dapat mendisiplinkan dan menyeragamkan pikiran siswa. Praktik dominatif di sekolah full day memberi dampak siswa lebih menyukai bentuk penilaian yang praktis dan mudah sehingga tidak memiliki pandangan kritis terhadap suatu permasalahan yang ada; (3) pembelajaran full day school menimbulkan berbagai reaksi siswa. Siswa diharapkan tunduk dan patuh terhadap aturan-aturan yang diberikan di sekolah. Namun, pada kenyataannya terdapat berbagai perilaku kritis siswa, sehingga tidak semua siswa patuh dan tunduk terhadap aturan yang telah ditetapkan.Kata kunci: pendidikan gaya bank, dominasi, pembelajaran. A FULL DAY SCHOOL PROGRAM IN MUHAMMADIYAH GUNUNGPRING ELEMENTARY SCHOOLAbstractThe aim of this study is to reveal: (1) full day school program, (2) the learning of full day schooling based on the concept of Paulo Freire’s banking model, (3) the students reaction of the teaching in full day school method  based on the concept of the education model of Paulo Freire Bank in Muhammadiyah Gunungpring Elementary School. This research used the qualitative research with the type of ethno-graphy research. The unit of analysis was the indoor and outdoor learning activities in Muhammadiyah Gunungpring Elementary School. The participants of the study were teachers and students of Muhamma-diyah Gunungpring Elementary School. The data collection was through observation, deep interviews and documentation. The technique used to analyze data consisted of three steps: data condensation, data display, and conclusion. The result of this study is as follows: (1) The full day school program is a school program that runs from morning to evening because it is given additional material that is suitable for the purpose of the school education. (2) There is a dominance in teaching practice in full day schooling at Muhammadiyah Gunungpring Elementary School. It was showed by the teacher-centered learning method. He determined the rules that should be obeyed by the students so that they could be diciplined and made homogenous in thinking. Students preferred a practical and easy assessment so they do not have a critical view of an existing problem. It disciplines the minds of the students. However, there are various critical behaviours of students, and not all students are obedient and subjected to the established rules. (3) The learning reaction in Muhammadiyah Gunungpring Elementary School occured. The students are expected to be obedient to school's rules. Nevertheless, they behaved critically so that not all of them obeyed the school regulation.Keywords: banking model of education concept, dominance, learning
