Abstract

The obstacles that occur in the context of religion and penghayat kepercayaan are not over. There is a theory of recognition proposed by Axel Honneth to strengthen the argument for the recognition of penghayat kepercayaan, it is necessary to know how the relation of penghayat kepercayaan recognition in Indonesia with Honneth's perspective. This research is conducted using qualitative method which is presented in descriptive form. The conclusion obtained from the discussion of this research is that the concept of penghayat kepercayaan in Indonesia has not received the same rights as other religious adherents, especially in terms of administration, even with the Constitutional Court decision No. 97/PUU-XIV/2016. Based on Honneth's perspective, recognition has three patterns to realize it that are interconnected, namely love patterns, legal patterns, and solidarity patterns. This research found that the existing legal framework is not sufficient for the adherents of penghayat kepercayaan. The hope for the realization of real recognition of indigenous faiths turns out to experience a lot of missrecognition. Recognition of each individual belief identity is included in the context of human rights, so the struggle for the recognition of indigenous faiths is worth fighting for.

Abstract

The cultural practice of cemetery pilgrimage, commonly referred to as nyekar, remains a deeply rooted tradition within Indonesian especially Javanese society. It involves the ritual of scattering flowers over graves while offering collective prayers, serving as a symbolic reminder of human mortality. This study explores the historical origins of the cemetery pilgrimage tradition, examines its interpretation within Islamic perspectives, and analyzes its purposes across different regions in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative research method, the study is based on secondary data obtained from scholarly journals, articles, and other relevant literature. Although the primary data source is textual, the analysis incorporates empirical insights derived from cultural realities observed in society. The findings suggest that nyekar emerged from the cultural interplay between Islamic teachings, Javanese customs, and pre-Islamic (notably Hindu) beliefs. Within Islamic discourse, cemetery visitation was initially prohibited due to associations with pre-Islamic superstitions, but was later permitted and even recommended for its moral and spiritual value. The intentions behind engaging in nyekar vary among individuals, shaped by theological understanding, cultural traditions, and personal motivations.

Abstract

Indonesia, with the world’s largest Muslim population, has significant potential to lead the global halal ecosystem, particularly in the poultry slaughterhouse (RPU) sector. However, limited halal-certified RPUs, inadequate technology, and storage infrastructure remain critical challenges. This study aims to identify key performance indicators of halal certification for RPUs in Jember Regency, evaluate their supply chain performance, and develop strategic recommendations. A mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential design was employed, beginning with qualitative interviews and FGDs, followed by a quantitative survey involving 73 respondents across six stakeholder groups. Results indicate storage aspects received the highest performance ratings, while technology lagged behind. SWOT analysis revealed strengths such as strong consumer awareness and opportunities from government support and emerging technologies, counterbalanced by infrastructure weaknesses and regulatory threats. The study recommends enhancing cold storage capacity, training halal personnel, and implementing digital traceability systems. These findings offer both practical and theoretical contributions to strengthening RPU roles within Indonesia’s broader halal ecosystem.

Abstract

Generation Z (gen-z) is a term from researchers to mean a group of people who live after the Millennial Generation, namely humans who were born in the digital era or technological advances. This causes the characteristics of the Gen-Z to be different from the previous generation. One of the most striking differences between Generation Z and other generations is the religious trend of Generation Z. At this time the pattern of consumption of information about religion has undergone a significant change, namely changing to more practical digital and online-based media. Technological advances in this digital era not only have a positive impact on generation Z, they also have a negative impact. Therefore, moral education is needed for generation Z. The importance of moral education is intended to overcome things such as misunderstandings in accepting religious knowledge, and so on. Moral education is also needed so that Generation Z understands how to position themselves well, and how they must act and behave in every condition. The current problem of Generation Z is their moral and mental weakness, they sometimes feel the most right and feel the most wronged when they are being advised, even though it is all for their own good.

Abstract

This study explores the construction of socio-religious education implemented by Pencak Silat Nahdlatul Ulama (PSNU) Pagar Nusa at the Sunni Darussalam Islamic Boarding School in Yogyakarta. Employing a qualitative field research approach, the study focuses on the experiences of santri (students) as the primary subjects. Through direct observation, interviews, and documentation, this research identifies key educational patterns developed within the Pagar Nusa framework. The findings reveal four main forms of educational action: (1) adaptive actions, where PSNU Pagar Nusa adjusts its educational approach to align with the social and cultural environment of the santri; (2) goal-oriented actions, characterized by the internalization of moral and ethical values as part of character formation; (3) integrative actions, aimed at strengthening the collective spirit and religious-social identity of the students; and (4) pattern-maintaining actions, which ensure consistency and sustainability in the transmission of socio-religious teachings. These educational practices reflect a holistic model that integrates martial arts with religious and social values, contributing significantly to the personal and communal development of the students. This study highlights the unique role of PSNU Pagar Nusa not merely as a martial arts organization, but also as a medium of transformative religious-social education in the pesantren environment.

Abstract

Curriculum serves as a fundamental tool to achieve educational objectives. In the context of Islamic education, it is not merely a compilation of subjects but a structured framework grounded in divine sources namely, the Qur’an and Hadith. The Islamic education curriculum must be clearly designed and systematically formulated to convey a coherent body of knowledge from educators to learners. It also encompasses educational processes that shape students’ intellectual, moral, and spiritual development. The curriculum should be developed based on ontological, epistemological, and axiological foundations rooted in Islamic thought. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method and content analysis. The data are drawn from various scholarly sources and analyzed through theoretical and philosophical perspectives to examine the essence, principles, and value orientation of the Islamic education curriculum. This methodological framework allows for a comprehensive exploration of how Islamic principles shape curriculum design. The findings reveal that the Islamic education curriculum is distinguished by several foundational principles: it is based on Islamic values, directed toward achieving educational goals, integrative across disciplines, relevant, flexible, efficient, continuous, individualized, and equitable. Furthermore, it emphasizes the preservation and internalization of Islamic values in students. Education, understood as a conscious effort to humanize individuals, relies heavily on curriculum as a guiding instrument. Therefore, the Islamic education curriculum must align with the holistic vision of Islam, ensuring the development of learners who are intellectually competent and spiritually grounded.
