Fast in Humanities (FH) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Forum Akademisi dan Dosen Peneliti (FAST), focusing on the dynamic and interdisciplinary field of humanities. Published six times a year in January, March, May, July, September, and November, the journal provides a scholarly platform for critical engagement and innovative research that explores human experiences, cultural expressions, and philosophical reflections across diverse historical and contemporary contexts. The journal welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, and critical reviews that examine various aspects of humanities including philosophy and ethics, history and historiography, language and literature, religion and theology, the arts, culture and identity, gender and feminist studies, postcolonial and decolonization studies, media and communication, digital humanities, as well as peace, conflict, globalization, and multiculturalism. Abstract

This study analyzes forms of covert linguistic influence in Indonesian political interviews, focusing on three primary strategies: presupposition, conversational implicature, and hypnotic ambiguity. Political communication functions through explicit message content and implicit utterances subtly and systematically shaping public opinion. The research aims to uncover how suggestive politicians and interviewers employ strategies to frame meaning without making direct claims. The study adopts a qualitative discourse analysis approach grounded in cognitive pragmatics. Data were drawn from ten political interview transcripts broadcast on national television and digital platforms between 2019 and 2024. Analysis was conducted using the framework of Relevance Theory (Sperber & Wilson) and hypnotic language models (Erickson & NLP). Analytical tools such as AntConc were used to map the distribution of keywords and contextual usage of suggestive phrases. Findings indicate that presupposition emerged as the most dominant strategy (28.5%), followed by implicature (23.8%) and semantic ambiguity (15.7%). Additionally, hypno questioning (14.2%), embedded commands (10%), and vocal emphasis (7.6%) were identified as supplementary techniques that enhance suggestion at both affective and inferential levels. The study also reveals that strategy usage varies depending on the media platform, interview style, and the politician's background. Conceptually, this research extends the application of pragmatic theory to local political contexts and demonstrates that language is a latent tool of influence operating at both cognitive and emotional levels. The study contributes to political linguistics and offers a new analytical framework for examining implicit communication in public discourse. Practical implications include strengthening media literacy, promoting ethical political communication, and enhancing critical education regarding suggestive influence in digital democracy.

Abstract

In this study, the main focus is to see the relationship between the minimum wage and poverty in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. By adding independent variables, namely average years of schooling, economic growth, and open unemployment rate. The data used in this study is secondary data from the official website of the Yogyakarta Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) from 5 districts / cities with a time span of 2013 to 2023. Data analysis in this study uses panel data analysis that combines time series and cross section data with a fixed effect model (FEM) approach processed with Stata14 static tools. The results showed that the minimum wage (LUMK) had a negative and significant effect on poverty (LPM) and the open unemployment rate (TPT) had a significant positive effect on poverty (LPM), while the average years of schooling (RRLS) and economic growth (PE) had no effect on poverty. However, simultaneously all independent variables have a significant effect on poverty in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed the educational landscape, particularly in how teachers communicate with students belonging to Generation Z digital natives who demand interactive, personalized, and responsive learning environments. This study aims to examine how teachers reconstruct their communication styles to align with the learning characteristics and expectations of Generation Z students from the perspective of digital pedagogy. Employing a qualitative approach, this research uses classroom observations and in-depth interviews with high school teachers and students to explore the dynamics of teacher-student communication in digitally mediated classrooms. The findings reveal that effective communication with Generation Z requires a shift from traditional, directive styles toward more dialogic, empathetic, and technology-integrated interactions. Teachers who adopt multimodal communication strategies, facilitate two-way engagement, and demonstrate authenticity tend to foster higher levels of student motivation and participation. Additionally, the research highlights the importance of emotional presence and immediacy in maintaining attention and building trust with Generation Z learners. These insights underscore the necessity for educators to continuously adapt their communicative practices in response to evolving digital contexts. The study concludes that reconstructing communication styles is not merely a pedagogical adjustment but a strategic imperative to enhance educational relevance and effectiveness in the 21st-century classroom. The research contributes to the discourse on digital pedagogy by offering practical and theoretical implications for teacher training, classroom interaction design, and the broader transformation of educational communication in the digital age

Abstract

Religious moderation plays a crucial role in strengthening inclusive social policies and fostering sustainable social peace, especially in countries with high religious diversity such as Indonesia, India, and Nigeria. These nations face challenges of social tension, religious discrimination, and interfaith conflicts, arising from religious and ethnic differences. Religious moderation, as a strategy, emphasizes values of tolerance, respect for diversity, and interfaith dialogue, which serves to mitigate extremism and create harmonious coexistence among various religious groups. This study utilizes a qualitative approach with case studies to examine the impact of religious moderation on the development of inclusive social policies in these diverse countries. Key findings suggest that religious moderation within social policies can reduce religious discrimination, promote equality, and strengthen social cohesion. However, challenges such as economic disparities, social tensions, and the rise of religious extremism still pose significant barriers to the effective implementation of these policies. The research provides recommendations for policymakers to integrate religious moderation more thoroughly into inclusive social policies, focusing on education, religious leader training, and interfaith cooperation as essential elements. By promoting moderate religious values and fostering mutual respect, countries can move toward a more inclusive, just, and peaceful society. The study highlights that consistent and comprehensive application of religious moderation can address the root causes of religious conflict and strengthen social integration in pluralistic societies

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in fostering economic inclusion, particularly for marginalized communities such as persons with disabilities. However, limited access to effective branding and visual communication strategies often hinders the competitiveness of disability-led or disability-inclusive MSMEs. This study aims to explore how strategic branding and visual communication can enhance the market competitiveness of products developed by disability communities under social empowerment programs. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and visual documentation from selected MSMEs supported by social empowerment initiatives. The findings reveal that consistent visual identity, inclusive branding narratives, and audience-oriented packaging design significantly contribute to consumer trust and product differentiation in the market. Moreover, the collaboration between designers and community members proved essential in ensuring that the branding reflects both the values and capabilities of the disability community. This research highlights the transformative role of visual branding in economic empowerment and offers practical insights for inclusive design practices and policy formulation. The study contributes to the interdisciplinary discourse between design, social entrepreneurship, and disability inclusion by emphasizing the strategic integration of visual communication in community-based enterprises.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic integration of zakat within the framework of public administration to enhance community empowerment and improve social welfare in Indonesia. Employing a descriptive qualitative methodology, the research analyzes scholarly literature and policy documents, including national regulations and institutional practices related to zakat governance. The findings highlight that when managed transparently and aligned with good governance principles, zakat functions as more than a religious obligation—it serves as a potent tool for social justice, economic empowerment, and poverty alleviation. Institutional actors such as BAZNAS and LAZISMU exemplify how zakat management can incorporate participatory, accountable, and effective administrative practices to support national welfare agendas. The discussion underscores the importance of policy integration, supportive regulatory environments, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to amplify the impact of zakat-based programs. This synergy between zakat and public governance offers a conceptual and practical model for developing a sustainable, values-based social welfare system. The study concludes by identifying the need for further research into cross-sector collaboration models and the institutionalization of zakat within broader social policy frameworks.
