Abstract

Research and development is aimed to produce soft-skills training models especially in communication skills and emotional control student junior high school (SMP) in Mataram city. Research and development method is carried out through three stages from the ten steps of Borg & Gall, they are; (1) the preliminary research (needs analysis), (2) the development of training model, (3) Model evaluation and try out. The results show that the development of soft-skills training model develop training manual for counselors and students, as well as soft-skills training materials that meet acceptable criteria of usability, usefulness and feasibility. Besides, the results showed also that there is a difference in scores between pre-test and post-test in skills at managing emotions from unskilled to be very skilled, and communication skills from unskilled become quite skilled.

Abstract

This study uses descriptive correlational study in order to describe and to know whether or not interpersonal communication skills affect students’ self-confidence. The subject of the study includes the whole students of 10th grade at SMAN 1 Garum in the 2015/2016 academic year. The data analysis used in this study is descriptive analysis technique and Pearson product moment correlation. The result of the study shows that most of 10th grade students at SMAN 1 Garum of Blitar Regency have high level of interpersonal communication skills. In terms self-confidence, it is found that most of 10th grade students of SMAN 1 Garum of Blitar Regency also pose high level. The study suggests that there is significant correlation between interpersonal communication skills and self-confidence of 10th grade students at SMAN 1 Blitar of Blitar Regency. The result of the study shows that students with high level of communication skills also pose high level of self-confidence.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between academic self-concept, academic self-efficacy, self-esteem and academic procrastination. To achieve these goals, used a correlational study design. The population used in the study are students of Junior High School in Malang, the sample totaled 393 students obtained through a multistage random sampling method of sampling. To measure academic self-concept, academic self-efficacy, self-esteem and academic procrastination, use a scale of academic self-concept, academic self-efficacy scale, the scale of self-esteem and academic procrastination scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that each variable that academic self-concept, academic self-efficacy and self-esteem negatively related to academic procrastination and together these three variables affect the academic procrastination.

Abstract

This research aims to discover the effectiveness of group-counseling sociodramas to reduce verbal aggressive acts of junior High School students. The research design used is quasi-experiment, which is one Group Pre-test Post-test Design. The treatment given to experimental group is sosiodramas. Researcher does a measurement before and after the treatment given to see whether there is a change shown by research subjects. the subjects are 16 eight-graders of SMP Negeri 15 Malang with high verbal aggressiveness scores. The pre-test and the post-test is in the form of verbal aggressive acts inventory which are done once each. Treatment giving is done in five meetengs. The analysis result using SPSS 16 for windows, Wilcoxon Signed Ranked Test score shows different value (Z= -3.517a) with 0.000 (P= 0.000 < 0,05), which proves group-counseling sociodramas are effective to reduce verbal aggressive acts of Junior High School students.

Abstract

This development study produced a guide for counselors and a self-disclosure simulation game media that was used to increase self-disclosure in junior high school students. This development research uses the Borg & Gall (1983) model: conducting needs analysis, planning, developing initial products, expert testing (BK material experts & media experts), results of expert testing and testing of potential product users (counselors), product revisions, field testing initial and final product revision of the simulation game guide and simulation game media, based on the results of data analysis of assessments by experts and potential users, it can be concluded that this simulation game guide for counselors and simulation game media is very appropriate, very useful, very easy, and very interesting. Therefore, the self-disclosure simulation game for junior high school students is very suitable for use as a guidance service by counselors for students.

Abstract

The research aims to develop self-efficacy training guides in friendship through experiential learning strategies for junior high school students, so that the counselor can use it as a media of social guidance services for the student especially to improve his confidence in the friendship. This training guide is printed teaching materials containing substance, operational measures, and the evaluation. The procedur of this developmental research is adapted from Borg and Galls (1983) which did in 3 step; 1) plannin;(2) developmental product; and (3) try out of the product. Based on the results of data analysis from expert assessment and potential users as well as revisions that are made in accordance with the advice and input to the product, it can be concluded that this training guide meets the good acceptance criteria and effectively proven in improving students self-efficacy in peer friendships.
