The Community Service Education Journal (JPMP) focuses on publishing the results of community service activities and involvement conducted by lecturers, researchers, practitioners, and students. This journal emphasizes empowerment, mentoring, community development, and the practical application of knowledge in solving real-life problems in society. It strives to highlight how academic insights and theoretical studies can be implemented to provide sustainable benefits to the community. The scope of this journal includes activities related to studies in Education and Teaching, Educational Guidance and Counseling Services, School and Educational Institution Empowerment, Development of Learning Media and Technology, Character Education and Soft Skills, Inclusive Education and Special Services, Community Literacy and Numeracy, Parent and Community Education, and Action Research in teaching that intersects with community needs. It also encompasses interdisciplinary approaches that integrate education, economics, social sciences, health, environment, and technology in the context of Islamic community service. Through this publication, JPMP aims to be a platform for the exchange of innovative community service ideas, models, and practices that strengthen collaboration between academics and the community. This journal aspires to contribute to the development of knowledge-based community empowerment and to promote inclusive educational values and sustainability.

Abstract

Penggunaan minyak goreng secara berulang kali masih sering dilakukan oleh masyarakat karena alasan efisiensi, padahal kebiasaan ini dapat menurunkan mutu makanan dan berdampak buruk bagi kesehatan. Selain itu, pembuangan minyak jelantah secara sembarangan juga berpotensi mencemari lingkungan, terutama tanah dan perairan. Menyikapi permasalahan tersebut, dilakukan kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat di Desa Blimbing Kidul dengan tujuan meningkatkan kesadaran serta keterampilan warga dalam mengelola limbah minyak jelantah agar memiliki nilai ekonomi dan manfaat baru. Melalui program pelatihan ini, masyarakat diajarkan cara mengolah minyak jelantah menjadi produk lilin aromaterapi yang ramah lingkungan. Proses kegiatan dilakukan melalui metode penyuluhan dan praktik langsung, melibatkan ibu rumah tangga serta anggota PKK sebagai peserta utama. Mereka dilatih mulai dari tahap pemilihan dan penyaringan minyak, pencampuran bahan, pewarnaan, penambahan aroma, hingga pencetakan lilin siap pakai. Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pentingnya pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga. Selain berkontribusi pada pelestarian lingkungan, kegiatan ini juga membuka peluang pengembangan ekonomi kreatif berbasis pemanfaatan limbah, sehingga masyarakat dapat memperoleh tambahan pendapatan dari hasil produksi lilin aromaterapi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of fourth-grade (Phase B) students at MI Qur’aniyah Batu Kuta within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of two classes, with 20 students as the control group and 19 students as the experimental group. The research instrument was a learning achievement test administered before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the treatment. Data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-tests with the assistance of SPSS 26. The results revealed a significant difference between students taught using the TPS model and those taught through conventional methods. The mean post-test score of the control group was 70.85, while the experimental group achieved 83.11, with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, the application of the Think Pair Share model had a significant effect on improving students’ Indonesian language learning outcomes. Furthermore, the TPS model supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum by encouraging independent thinking, active discussion, and effective collaboration among students.
